Stevie Cooper
We are 3 points off 13th. We have 9 games to go. Potentially 3 wins keeps us up… the problem is those 3 wins don’t look like coming under cooper. It could be the right time to change… it could also make no difference

That’s what I was saying … it’s a tough call heads or tails result…

If he’s gone it’s all about who is the replacement
I can’t see Vieira changing anything
Maybe our DOF has someone in mind….

That's the one reason I'd maybe stick with him too. If Dyche was still available I'd have been tempted to have offered him the job. But the out of work managers at the moment?

Gerrard - No
Lampard - Even bigger no
Scott Parker - The biggest no you've ever seen
Marsch - Nope
Benitez - Would probably tighten us up but would we win matches? Probably not
Vieira - Probably less of a no than the others but still not a resounding yes
Hassenhutl - Would he want it? And if he did would he make a difference?

That leaves us with the ones that obviously won't take it (Pochettino, Potter, Rodgers) or someone not in the above list.

You make it sound like a 50% chance of success if we change.
It really isnt, I would say any new manager coming in now has about a 1% chance of improving this season.

The absolute tragedy is picking the wrong person in a panic lumbers us with someone who is totally the wrong fit in the longer term. Going by our managerial success rate over the last 23 years I would say that  is by far the most likely outcome.

Yep, it seems the idea is that by changing manager you automatically improve your chance of survival. When in reality and backed up by statistics that just isn't the case at all.

Even this year alone, looking at the changes that have happened, so far Wolves are about the same with better players, Southampton got worse, Chelsea got worse, Spurs got worse, Leicester got worse, Everton are marginally better but still right in there. Villa got better but how many of those teams were being dragged down by a shit coach eg Lampard, Gerrard, Marsh etc

I don't believe Cooper has lost the dressing room and he certainly hasn't lost the fanbase. Therefore I doubt anyone coming in would be transformative.

Well.........if he has not lost the dressing room...........what the hell were the performances against Wolves and Leeds ?

If that is the players giving 110% for the manager................well.................. say no more...........

They are not trying very hard to keep him around.........

The players are not as good as the ones in other teams, why is this so hard for people to accept?

Playing Devil's Advocate here but isn't it Cooper and his coaching team's job to improve them? Or if not improve them individually then meld them into a collective that can compete? And he (and the recruitment team of course) brought them in.

Wassy will never ever criticise Cooper.

Cooper could walk onto the pitch and have a shit in the centre circle and Wassy will say that the club didn't provide him with any toilet paper.
