Stevie Cooper
I really fear its over for him now. I will always back Cooper and still think swapping now is non-sensical but that type of performance really doesn’t help his cause.

No and its been the same all season. Lets be honest, Cooper hasnt had a clue how to set up for an away game this season. Its been poor. Worse than poor, embarrassing even.

I blame it on losing Steven Reid.

No idea Pap. The difference between home and away has been night and day. Like Isaid Im struggling to defend how we approach away games even though I love the bloke.

Think saying its Stephen Reid is a bit simplistic but do wonder if he needed some proper Pl experience on his coaching team. I don’t rate Alan Tate personally.

Got to admit I thought SC was a good coach but has been found out big time in the PL. I have seen NO progress this season with regards to game plan and passing, tactics have been poor and I think team building has been scattergun. Not sure I would want SC in charge of us next season in the Championship as he has reverted to type in the way he approaches the game to be played, I think he and us the fans got lucky last season but we came off the rails in the PL. Hope the new coach/manager played an exciting brand of football and once again we can enjoy our football both home and away! COYR

Look at Chelsea - only comparison to us on player churn- from a champions league level - they are miles off. We have actually improved 6 places!

They also sacked a pretty successful manager and things got a lot worse.

Sounds broken on the radio tonight- not hiding - but said it like it was - poor performance after scoring. Talking about himself - pressure - stock answer. Think he is gone from that. Top bloke reference to Frey when he thought he was off mike was telling…

What did he say?

Just that he won’t hide from poor away form- said they went 1-0 up and then stopped playing and weren’t brave on the ball and poor and passive defensively ( especially given the ref letting everything go). Said it was probably because we haven’t been in that position too often. Said second half didn’t do enough. Went into a I’m responsible for away form monologue and taking responsibility- alongside adding ignoring off field gossip either way…

Steve Cooper says he refuses to worry about his own future, but wants to get things right at Nottingham Forest to repay supporters for their backing.

The head coach finds his future in the balance after a 2-1 defeat at relegation rivals Leeds saw his side notch up an eighth game without a win and slide to 17th in the Premier League table – outside of the relegation places only by goal difference alone.

But while it remains uncertain whether Cooper will be in charge for the trip to Aston Villa at the weekend, Cooper believes it would go against the way he likes to work, if he allowed himself to worry about his own position.

“I respect the question but I am just not a guy who thinks like that. I always think about the greater good of the club. Any worry, disappointment or frustration I am feeling is because Forest have lost a game that they could have done so much better in,” said Cooper, when asked if he was worried about his future.

“That is just the way I am wired. I have trained myself to focus on what is controllable; to work as hard as I can every day – to believe in my work and stay true to it.

“I have been answering questions about my future for a little while now and, before the break, they were different types of questions.

“I am not that person who thinks about it. All the joy of winning and disappointment of losing it just about what is right for the club, rather than myself.”

Cooper did a remarkable job guiding Forest to promotion last season, after taking over a club rooted to the foot of the Championship table.

But a squad that includes 29 new additions has secured only one away win all season, which has been a key factor in their struggle against relegation.

Cooper said not to read too much into the manner in which he paused to wave to travelling fans, before departing down the tunnel.

But he said that the backing of fans – many of whom remain fully behind him – was important to him.

“I will be forever grateful to the supporters, which is why winning games is joyous and losing hurts,” he said. “Because they are so good with me, when we let them down – as we did tonight – it is painful. That is how I think. I want to do what is right for the club.

“I do not take their support for granted, I certainly do not feel entitled to it. If anything, sometimes the more support I get, the more determined I get and the more paranoid I get about letting people down. And, tonight, I feel as though I did.
