I’m not convinced since he fluffed the one down the middle.
Would love a ‘dead cert’ penalty taker in the team but lord knows who- certainly not MGW or ayew.
Think Robbo might come out of retirement?
He's taken some ballsy ones though under real pressure, will only improve.

Our best penalty taker by a country mile is Lyle Taylor who seem to use the Ivan Toney method. I thought his interview about it was really interesting, he practices for hours. Far better and more composed than MGWs dicking around.
Shame the rest of Taylor’s game isn’t nearly as good.

Both Mangala and Freuler played different midfield rolls for their countries than what they do for their club and both looked much better players.

Agree with sniffer, we have some good players who look awful in our team due to the way we are using them.

Do you know how Mangala was played?
Belgium had an impressive result against an admittedly experimental Germany but still top quality opposition. Be good to know how he did.

I tried to search what role Mangala played but it doesn't give much about his role just that he was outstanding and really stood out against a top team.

We do have some good players yes. But people seem to forget the opposition teams all contain some truly world class players which make our good players look bang average.

According to flash scores Mangala played on the left of a midfield three which is the exact position he plays for us when selected.
Freuler was on the right of a three which is slightly different to us as he's usually central. No idea if he was asked to play a different role though. Israel and Belarus are not exactly great comparisons to the players we're going to play in the next few weeks though.
Nevertheless good to see Mangala getting some game time. Whilst he hasn't really managed to maintain his level in the Premier League yet, he's young and hopefully there's still a player in there. Most players take a season to adapt to the Premier league before they show their true best level so I'd be hopeful of a jump for him next season (whichever league we're in!)
