Another coach could have this squad around 10th place, would that then mean that we have the 10th best squad in the league. It's not always down to the players sometimes it's down to coaching and tactics.
No sorry mate I dont agree with that, think you are deluding yourself of you reckon our squad is potentially the 10th best.

You're basically saying the ceiling, if everything went perfect, no injuries, just clicked instantly is 10th. However, then being annoyed when we don't reach that position as if that should be expected.
Fwiw, i think without the injuries to Yates/Taiwo/Kouyate we would likely be in 12th right now.
Point is yes someone could do better, but they could also do worse and more likely to. The odds of them improving the team are low and making them worse, whilst pissing off the players/fans (in the majority) would be high. Also, you sack a successful coach, why would other good coaches want that job in the future. Look how much Leeds, Southampton etc struggled to find a decent replacement. Watford have really struggled lately as unsurprisingly no-one good wants that job anymore.
Also, yes if you changed manager now they would likely do better than our last 6 games as they are playing Wolves, Leeds and Viila. As opposed to Man City, Spurs, Newcastle, Fulham (with West Ham and Everton sprinkled in).

"Oi Dennis, look up when you have the ball"
"Brennan, just skin those 2 defenders"
"Worrall, stop letting the best forwards in the world past you"
"Shelvey, stop trying to curl every pass 40 yrds with the outside of your foot"
"Morgan, take better free kicks"
"Scarpa, put down your rubiks cube and get in the team"
"Wood, just FFS run faster"
See its easy this coaching lark, would get them 10th place in no time.

It is just an example of the point that I am trying to make I am not saying our squad is potentially the 10th best.
Are all coaches the same? Of course they are not.
Some coaches will get a tune out of a squad and some won't.

What we’re you expecting from this season?
We scraped up, had to buy a whole new squad - it was always going to be close - and guess what, it is
Changing now would be ridiculous. If he keeps us up it’s better than last season.
You lot don’t live in the real world if you think we should be already safe ???????

Personally I don't think we should already be safe. This season though there are a lot of teams on a very similar level around the bottom - the small points gap between twelfth and bottom tells us that. If we could have just done a bit better away from home and picked up even two or three more points in that dodgy spell before Cooper got his new contract we'd be in a far better position.
If we go down, to me it'll feel like we missed a great opportunity to have stayed up.

Nobody is suggesting a change and nobody said they want a change.
It's the Steve Cooper thread so what are folk expecting to see here exactly?
We are talking about Steve, how he has us playing at the moment and our fears of him taking us down etc.
Nobody is shouting for a change.

In Cooper's defence the attacking options he has currently are worse than he had at the back end of last season in the Championship. Whoever sanctioned signing Chris Wood should be the one EM is pointing his gun at, it was obvious before we'd even signed him that it was a dreadful choice. Shelvey has been poor, Ayew is Ayew (not Premier League standard), Cooper also mentioned more than once that he wanted a winger in Jan and didn't get one, injuries have hurt us a lot but Cooper has also been let down.

How has Cooper been let down and who do you think was behind the signings of Wood, Ayew and Shelvey in January?
30 signings and let down?

I don't believe SC has been let down in respect of 30 odd signing this season either. I think the problem is the joined up think behind them all, feel a bit sorry for the big man if we do go down as he has kept his side of the bargin.

we're doing ok - survival is the only objective.
I can only think of Bournemouth and Fulham at home where we should have expected more (liverpool win and Man City draw offset them...all the other results are about what you'd think.
