i dont see goncalves having any future here. Dias is no better.

carvalho was very poor against preston. however i thought he was awesome against villa.

He is doing OK (Carvalho) nothing more nothing less.

He is still a very young man, just 21 years old, it's easy for us to forget that.

It's a big big fee for him to be carrying around on his shoulders.

When he's 'hot' he's very hot.  Take away his assists, and Forest probably slip down the table to tenth?

However, when he's 'cold' or off the beat?

This is where I feel he needs some serious competition from a battle hardened Championship ACM that can ruffle the other team.  This is something I feel Tomlin could do.  Hold up play.  Niggle the opposition.  Win the free kick.

It may not be Tomlin in the January window.  But it needs to be someone?

Every chance Forest have had to consolidate their position in the top 6 or put pressure on the top 2?  They have drawn, lost or stalled?

With Forest sitting 7th, I think that answer or answers (!) may need to come in the January window.

I agree Strawbs, some serious compettion and also to give Carvalho a break here and there, I think the international breaks are over now and we are asking a lot of Carvlaho to play every game between now and the end of the season.

Tomlin on loan ticks all the boxes in my opinion.

I'm chuffed we signed Carva as he's got that touch of class & definitely makes us a better side, but I also can't help feel a bit skanked by what we paid for him. For that amount I want a PVH or Collymore. Someone who's a constant threat most weeks.

If PVH or Collymore had played against Leeds they would have risen to the occasion, whereas Carva seems to disappear. He's only young so to be expected to some degree, but I hope any more big money signings are ready now & not ones we have to nurture & make exceptions for.

Derby will be tellinng. Have a big game for us there Carva & Leeds will be forgotten.

I think Goncalves has something - he looked good until his red against Stoke, and look at what he has done this season for Portugal U21s. He just can't be showing anything in training.
Dias on the other hand frustrates the hell out of me, and all of those around me in the Upper Trent End aswell. I think we are seeing why he never seems to settle anywhere despite only being a young player.

I honestly haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion.

What I will say is that I am a bit surprised that he hasn't made more of an impact.

I thought he was rated more highly than CVarvalho when we signed them both?

Would have preferred to have seen Goncalves come on ahead of Dias against Preston.

That's it we don't see what goes on behind closed doors. And I can't remember the game but goncalves was at fault for not tracking back, and the opposition scored. Which could relate to his efforts in training hence the lack of game time.
Personally I'd send them both back not good enough at present, certainly have potential.

Carvalho is a class act. I love watching him play. He will be worth double what we paid in a year or two. If he was the complete package already we would never have been able to sign him, let alone for 15mill. When ever we get the ball I take a quick look at where he is and invariably he is on the move making himself available, in my head I just think "give him the ball" which we often don't of course with other options around too. He is a proper player and we should enjoy him whilst we can. Forget what he doesnt do, that will follow with experience, just admire what they guy can and does do for us.

Double what we paid in a year or two !!!... we will be lucky to get half of what we paid...he is a luxury player that eventually will have to be sacrificed...for tge so called moments of brilliance he spends alot of time ineffective nd contributing nothing to our play...how many times he had the chance to shoot from outside the box. .nd he doesnt...dont know how many times you have watched us this season...I watched every game nd tell you what...if he was on loan like the other two he will not get half the game time he us getting...we HAVE to play him nd hope he comes good...the less he plays the more his value drops....
