He sure did. That was the best thing Hodge ever did on a football pitch and he was a great player too.

By the way I still say to this day that Maradona's second goal was actually a Gary Stevens own goal.

He was also very good at dragging the opposition's wall to leave a gap for Pearce to fire through when we had a free kick.

I had a chance of tickets and turned them down because of accommodation costs. Think it was the right decision I dont see this world cup being much fun.

I wouldn't go if you paid me.

My brother lived there for 2 years (should have been 5 but he left early) and he was constantly inviting me over but I never went.

He couldn't get out of the place quick enough.

Alcohol shouldn't be the be-all-and-end-all of watching football but a lot of people do enjoy a drink or two before a match. As you said - why do this now? If they'd said from the outset 'No alcohol will be sold in or around stadia) then fair enough, at least everyone will have known where they stood.

Yeah completely agree. 

Do find it weird though.....I've been a couple of times for work and never struggled to get pretty trashed in the hotels. So don't really understand why they want to remove the opportunity to drink in the stadiums, it won't stop people getting drunk and might make it worse with folk pre-drinking before leaving for the ground!

I cant wait for the football to start so we can all stop talking about this peripheral political stuff. Fair enough, human rights etc are important things, but I'm fed up with a football tournament being used as a vehicle for people to peddle their political beliefs and to extol their virtue. The time to complain about those things was 10 years ago.

And after we've had this tournament I hope that fifa will realise that its fans and football that make world cups great. We all know Qatar and Russia were chosen because  the whole committee was bent. Lets have a proper tournament next time played in front of proper fans. I want to see street parties, face painted Mexicans, Norweigans in viking helmets  scantily clad Brazilian ladies, you get the idea.
