Damned if he does damned if he doesn’t.
Fact is, if he pisses off the old guard before the new ones have settled in then they won’t settle either and it falls apart before the glue has dried.
The two new CB’s haven’t been in 5 minutes and the two signings who appeared to be having a major impact and hitting the ground running are both injured and until we get mangala back and adapt the midfield to play through freuler he’s just a passenger.
Loyalty won over for the second half against bournemouth and Cooper’s post match comments reflect that he knows he made a mistake.
If that game was played next week id warranty 4 or 5 different participants in the game.
As for the ‘trouble at mill’ being alleged then I fail to see how it’s EM himself and can only assume it’s meddling/f**k ups by either milty or Dane or both. Either that or cooper is being a primadonna which I don’t readily believe but if true then he can go with my blessing tbh. Next man up as someone once said.

Really galvanised the club, exceeded all expectations and got us to the Premier League after 23 years away. He will always be held in high esteem for that. However, he has been backed, arguably, better than any other promoted manager in the history of the League has been. Including buying his main target. It is understandable that he feels some sort of loyalty to the players that got us up, but he needs to bin that loyalty now. We haven't bought in squad players from European teams. We've gone out and got captains, proven scorers in the Premier League, top young English talent and experienced PL players. To Finish the game against Bournemouth with Worral, Cook, Mckenna, Yates and Colback was absolutely criminal.
I really want Cooper to stay, I think he is a fantastic coach. But, if he loves the place as much as he professes to, he could have put to bed any worries about another club poaching him, just like Thomas Frank did.
I hope whatever has gone on is repairable and we can all enjoy another exciting season!
Totally agree, but also in fairness to Cooper he has not been afforded the same luxury the Frank has had to publicly squash any rumours. Frank did that at his pre match press conference before the games were postponed after her Majesty sadly passed.
Cooper did not do his because our game was the Monday and was scheduled after the tragic events. If he has a presser this week it will be interesting to see where he is.
That is a fair point, yes. He hasn't exactly filled me with confidence when asked about it in his previous press conferences though.

Welcome by the way. I agree with most of this and accept that Sniffer is almost always correct so there is something going off behind the scenes which is concerning.
However one point, people have also been bemoaning a lack of continuity as a potential weakness, Worrall Cook Mckenna Yates and Colback were 5 players who were in the team that took apart Arsenal and Leicester and pushed Liverpool all the way. We need a core of players who breathe Forest, they dont all need binning off. Just maybe not all 5 of them on the pitch at the same time, Steve.
Thank you! As just a casual reader of the forum, he seems to get most things spot on. The only real reason I could think would warrant a real strop (if it is that. It might not be), would be anyone in the backroom staff trying to get involved in team affairs. The season has started, it's a massive year for all us Forest fans and the city as a whole. He has to get his head down and get on with it now.
I don't think you can use one off cup games as a barometer as to how well players can adapt to the Premier league. We would have massively upped our game and the other teams might have taken us lightly. Not that it takes anything away from the performance on the day. I don't think the three center backs should ever be playing at the same time really. And, in my humble opinion, I think Yates and Colback are squad players now. They can do a job when required, but shouldn't be starting games, and definitely not finishing games together as the two in center mid.
Hopefully we get to play Fulham next weekend and we are all praising Cooper for how well we have played with a fantastic result on top!

There is a fall out - that is obvious. The question is with who? Dane? Marinakis? JNR?

I think a fair question to ask the people ITK is, can the problem be resolved ?, if not it’s like a failing marriage the best thing to do is a clean separation and a quick divorce, carrying on hoping things will improve rarely works.

Of course it can be resolved with some give and take if both sides are willing.
However until Cooper signs a new contract then we must assume that the problem remains unsolved.

To me I think
cooper wanted -players A young British or ex loanees
Vrentzos and Marinakas senior- players B European or top names
Dane -players C data driven cheap players
And look which players we got
So I would imagine nobody is fully happy when their players don’t make the first 11
Come on you mighty Reds

Ultimately, its only results that solve problems at football clubs.
So we all need to get back behind Cooper and whoever he picks and raise the roof against a very competent and confident Fulham team on Friday.

I just don’t think it’s that straight forward.
It was evident that a huge number of players were needed.
It’s also obvious that as a newly promoted side, you can’t just generally go and take players from other Prem teams without being completely rinsed.
Syrianos was tasked with getting the best available from Germany and France as their is real value in those markets and German and French clubs need to sell.
So the Syrianos players will be - Niakhate, Mangala, Awoniyi, Bade, Richards.
It was also clear we have a close relationship with super agent Jonathan Barnett ( Stellar Group).
We have signed a number of their clients - Henderson, Niakhate, MGW, Richards, Hennessey.
If you look at the players we have signed they are hardly squad fillers.
We have signed elite young talent, proven Prem players, Players with Champions League quality, proven international players.
If it is over recruitment that Coops has got the hump, then he is on thin ice.
I think he has been fantastically backed

I see Rob Page has signed a new contract as Wales manager which had been due to expire after the world cup. I had thought that was a genuine option for Cooper so that one is off the table now.
