Why not? It doesn't do any harm. Hopefully it won't come to that but of course it's a possibility.
I find it breeds an air of discontent and you never know who reads these posts.
Well just in case then:
Steve, we all love you, since you came to the club you have breathed new life into it and into the city. Everywhere you go, kids wearing Forest tops instead of ManU or Liverpool. Scramble for tickets for every game, desperation to make the capacity bigger and you gave us one of the best days of every Forest supporters life.
But.....even when we were winning European Cups and were consistently one of the best sides in the land there were still what Cloughie used to call "know nowts", S Peel used to regularly write whingeing letters to the Footbsll Post and attendance were often around the 15k mark for the lesser games. I would class the idiots who vented their frustrations by booing on Saturday as these too.
In this day and age its twitter, FB and forums where these people talk absolute boll@x - me included- and the next generation who demand instant gratification put unrealistic expectations on a new team and often think they know better than a guy who achieved what no one else could in 23 long years and works every day with the players.
Please be assured 99.9% of Forest supporters and 100% of genuine supporters are right with you and trust that we will be OK and you will build a team compete as you get to know the new players better.
A few clean sheets and good results and all will be rosy again.
I love you too Zico
Love Steve

The Athletic reporting that Cooper is among Brighton's shortlist to replace Potter but that he'd be expensive to get from Forest:
"It would be expensive to get former Swansea manager Steve Cooper out of Nottingham Forest, who he led to Premier League promotion last season via the play-offs after taking over in the September when they were bottom of the table."
Other names mentioned are Kjetil Knutsen of Bodo/Glimt, Russell Martin and oddly (to me anyway) Nathan Jones.

Would it be that expensive? I thought he only had a year on his contract?

Exactly. Plus Brighton just got £20m from Chelsea for Potter.
Can't bear the thought of Cooper going.

Its starting to gain traction now. Think they are looking to speak to a few managers it seems. Id hope we rejected the approach instantly.

Wouldn't have thought so. £5m perhaps? Hardly a vast amount for the right man for an established prem club. And haven't they themselves just received serious compensation for Potter?

Sniff if the club allow Cooper to leave without a fight, as a result of some unpublicised internal differences, then the consequences will be ginormous in the eyes of the fan base. Allowing him to go will end in almost certain relegation and that will be held against the owners for years. The whole season will pan out to be an unmitigated disaster and go down in Forest history the same as when Kevin Campbell was sold. The whole football world will consider us to be a nutcase club and they'd be right.

Feels like if he doesn't go now would be a great time to sign the new contract otherwise this will happen every time a team sacks a manager (Leicester likely be soon)
