Me too. Given the personnel we have at the moment I might even be tempted to go to a back four and go something like:

------------------------------Hennessy---------------------------
Biancone-------Kouyate---------------Mbe Soh-----Whoever the academy LB is
------------Yates-----------------------Freuler-------------------
----------------------------Lingard--------------------------------
Dennis--------------------Surridge-------------------Mighten

That team should have more than enough to beat Grimsby. I'd leave Lingard in to get more fitness and get some more minutes into Yates's legs too. Wouldn't be risking MGW or either of the first-choice wing-backs given the lack of cover.

I don't think Cafu and Mbe Soh will be playing much of a role so it will be the 1st team that plays, especially since most of them have still not played together. So no Mbe Soh or Cafu for me and certainly not the U21's.  This team needs to experience playing competitive games together and winning.

I agree it's just the risk of injuries, I'm not sure we can afford too many more first teamers being out for the sake of a trip to Grimsby. An injury to William's MGW or Mckenna and we have problems.

I think you might be slightly overhyping the risk of an injury in one game

Judging by the clubs twitter pic for tonight, Biancone, Mighten Cafu and Awoniyi all start.

We need to win this tonight, not least for the thousands of locked out fans who might have chance to see the side thsi season.

We've just lost Niakhate for two months in one game. Mangala hobbled off in another game?

I wouldn't say i'm overhyping injuries to league 2 opposition in a game that had we still be in the championship would have been a weakened first 11.

I'm not sure EM would agree considering a Alfreton trialist ruined the career of a 13m investment.

Don’t think awoyni will start. Up front surridge and Dennis and first show of Fruelur alongside yates as captain with Cafu in the attacking midfield role.

Can see Donnelly playing LWB and I have a feeling they may play mighten at rwb, but he was awful playing there against Notts county.

It will go to prove point we need cover

I get what you're saying but that's massive recency bias. I'd argue the injuries occurred due to a lack of matches too, so a chance for a glorified training match is a prime opportunity to build fitness.

If we'd had the entire squad available for all of preseason and the majority already played a year together I'd agree, however that is not our situation.

It's irrelevant anyway, he'll definitely make loads of changes.
