was pants at fault for any last night. thinking he thumbled the first a bit but it wasnt the worst mistake as it came through loads of players. i would doubt they but another keeper unless something drastic happens. we signed 2 in the summer.

Don’t think it’s a priority for Karanka imo
Pants kept 4 clean sheets prior to last nights freak game? Sure he made a few saves late on to keep us in it. If he was faultless he’d be in the Prem still...

Lets put it another way...If we had Jack Butland in goal (another keeper in The Championship) would we have a higher points total now and be further up the league? I believe that we would and that shows the importance of having a top class goalkeeper instead of an average one.

It has cost points. And it cost some last night. He wasn't the only one culpable for all the goals. Forest were against genuine Premiership quality. However, I'd have a couple down for the keeper to do 'better.' Sorry, Pants. SA.

It's just the effect his poor performances has on the defence that's the worry for me. When he turns shaky, the back four tend to lose a bit of confidence in him and errors creep in. Abraham looked like he bullied us last night - that's when Pants tends to go missing.
I caught Darikwa going mental at him on the highlights last night when he didn't come for a cross that clearly Darikwa thought he should have done.

Yes, he's costing us points, I was at the game last night and for me he's not the same player that came to us, he doesn't seem to command his area, nor is he vocal enough for me.
And for a player of his size, how on earth is he not able to catch a ball, we seem to be getting things right in other areas(although after last night) our defence still needs working on, but I think that Karanka needs to start with Steele, and leave Pantilimon on the bench.

It is strange that Karanka seems to have a low tolerance level for poor performance from outfield players and yet when Pants has a stinker he turns around and has a go at the crowd for not backing his players. I'm not convinced Steel is any better by the way.

We need to find out and quickly. 80% of people who have voted so far say we need to sign a new Keeper.
