I wouldn't mind Yacob getting his first start tomorrow along side Colback instead of Teddy who has looked a bit of the pace recently.

Don't think we can mess about with the side too much for such a tough game. We're already probably without Lolley, which is a loss. Yacob needs introducing to the 1st team from the bench.

Pullis will have seen our game on Wednesday and want to test out Pants's confidence no doubt. I'd honestly drop him for Steel whilst he recovers some form. That'd be the only change I'd make, except maybe Dawson in for Heff? Heff had a poor game on Wednesday but IMO all the back 4 were affected hugely by Pants's lack of confidence and inability to distribute the ball in a timely and efficient manner. Dawson might add some experience but Britt's gonna be a handful. Who knows - I don't!

Contradicting what I just put above, I wonder if this is a game for Murphy over Grabban maybe?

He could offer a bit more of a physical presence and hold the ball up for some light relief from the pressure we're likely to be under.

Agreed Pap but I think bringing Yacob in for Geddy is not going to weaken our team, I think he will make it stronger.

he has always been a good player. himself and colback are the best CM pairing we have had in a very long time.

He really is quality. I just cannot understand why he was held back for so long before he made his debut. He's slotted into the side like a slotted slot in a slotted thing. He looks calm, is aware of what's around him before he gets the ball, makes simple but incisive passes with confidence. One of the best midfielders I can remember playing for us in a long time.

I’ve said before I think the reason why Yacob was held back was to give him his own pre season. Karanka knows he’s the sort who needs to play every week. He needs to be properly fit and ready.
