Nottingshot... do them over City... good and proper! Tough game this one, if we get anything from it, I will be very happy. I think I would go for a more defensive wing-back in Elder, move KPL up alongside either Magennis or Tyler Smith and rest Wilk's. Maybe rest Smallwood and bring Tom H in for this one, we need someone who can help keep possession. At last a proper MDT, with all the info & effort we need, & not a cheap imitation awash with match day facts & figures. The more stats in the opening post the more likely it will attract boring old farts with a repetitive bag of chips on their shoulder about the HDM. (Select the HCAFC tab you SOC) …FACTAFUCKINGMONDO City 3 nowt. There's no way Smallwood should be rested nor any need. He's been playing well and is defensively better than Tom. The midfield is working well and I can't see a reason to change that. Bringing Tyler Smith in would make sense, he got 2 for the 23s and definitely offers something different. City win 1-3 You b*****d, you've spoiled it now for those us without crystal balls City win? Ive had a dream...... Greaves will score today... having said that I have that same dream every week for the last however many... 90/1 first 90/1 last 45/1 anytime,.,.,. I think it's sweet that they named their ground out of respect for us. Credit to them for that.

Hull Fans 1st Half Comments......
Here we lads, hoping for a win. I can see them getting a penalty before the games out...mind they'd struggle to get one after when I think about it. Great block Looks like we’ve sold out our allocation Must be nice for them. More stood up than at home games, less segregation, less stewards at the side of them and no stewards stood in the front of them staring at them all game. Clinging on here Quarter of the game gone and I'm still in the dark. It's an absolute joke. Again! Also can't get audio so just following Michael Dawson's analysis on Sky. Often struck how quickly analysts who don't see us much immediately pick up on stuff we as fans think but Grant McCann doesn't. Dawson commenting that KLP is an attacking player who is being forced to defend all the time as a wing back. Sounds like yet again little or no impact from our front 2? How on earth they keep their places. If this means they suddenly prove me wrong I'll be delighted! Need more possession or a goal coming for forest We're not at the races today. Longman...oh dear! Cmon lads get it together It's Forests attack versus our defence. We are not holding the ball long enough in their half to develop a meaningful attack. Fooking Get in! Bloody hell! Yeah. told you Michael Dawson knew his stuff!!!! Talk about against the run of play What a corking goal... KLP you beauty... You absolute beauty and perfect timing KLP took that really well. Class finish, cut in from the left from McLoughins long ball and rammed it home with his right. Goalie no chance. Been on the rack but that will knock Forest's confidence What a really good half, good game, and lovely goal by KLP. Docherty has been immense. Well, didn't expect to see that after the first 40 minutes, they were all over us. UTT! Pick that f****r out! Home commentary obviously Forest focussed but quite good analysis and interesting to hear another perspective. Thanks for pointing it out. For the first 30 mins it sounded as if we were playing Barca in their pomp. With the Radio Notts bloke saying it was just a matter of time for the first goal. He was right. City well under the cosh for most of the first half but limited chances for Forest, started to settle on the ball a bit better and then scored an excellent goal. KLP is doing good work coming back to help the defence, Docherty is having an excellent game and Honeyman is starting to buzz. Excellent first half. Great ball by mcloughlin and lewis potter was class. He's at Bowen's level now. Will take some hanging on to That goal is the finish of a class balanced and confident player - he didn’t give the keeper chance to move Only class defenders see a pass like that.... as i've said, we're blessed with 2 above average CB's...maybe 3...

Hull Fans 2nd Half Comments.......
Longman neds subbing before he gets sent off. whilst under the cosh and looking like it was only a matter of time i put bets on 2-0 3-0 and 4-0 to city. im confident im gonna win all three. just put a quid on the forest win Looks like they’ve changed formation for second half - will we adjust ? Unlikely we can’t defend for 45 just need to weather the storm and then keep them on their toes as per first half. $hit... Never a penalty. Shocking decision, but we were due to be on the receiving end given how lucky we’ve been with decisions in the last few games. i see that as a foul on honeyman????? As Daws said... it was because of WILKS getting away with pulling someone down at the last corner... He was 50 yards away, but why not blame Wilks Well suck my crystal balls. Never a pen that though. Bad decision, Honeyman got the ball there Clear foul on Honeyman, not even close to a penalty, the karma from the Reading game has caught up with us. Referees lost the plot so far this half. Not a penalty and he's dishing out yellow cards against City like there confetti. We had lots of luck against Reading so this is probably pay back. One or two Shottingham players going down a la Wilkes stylee and now a penalty when Honeyman clearly connects with the ball first. Harsh, but as Kalam said above we've had our share of luck too... Never a pen Awful decision. I take back comments about the Home commentary - it's ridiculously one sided. Their dugout must be tidy, what with Dobby the House Elf living in there The ref's having a mare. Does feel like pretty much every week we are waiting for Wilks to be subbed and breathe a sigh of relief when he is. They're throwing the kitchen Sinkenagle at us now. Well in by Greaves there. Bollocks! 2-1 18 mins to get a point. Feck off radio Rottingham Not sure what Bernard thought he was doing there but it wasn't defending **** goal to concede. Bernard misjudged the cross. Got it hopelessly wrong. Awful by Bernard Oh well, it's only a game... In keeping with the opponents...Life is like a box of chocolates... Abysmal that. RELEGATION BECKONS The season of goodwill defending. if its true that west ham are interested in KLP - His price went up today despite us losing currently, brilliant he has been i agree but my lad says he's seen nothing special ??? Can't really complain about City's performance today. If we don't equalise though it's gonna feel like a loss. Ever thought of being a pundit with those insights? Terry doing a good job of wasting 1 minute of extra time. Oh well. Dodgy penalty goes against our way after riding our luck during our winning streak and some defensive naïvety cost us another goal. Can’t really get too annoyed but disappointed nonetheless. Oh well it’s only a game. Really unlucky, away to a team that’s unbeaten in 8 and we more than matched them. I think had that poor decision not handed them a goal we would have easily won that. Never feel bad when decisions go for us because it won’t be long until a shocker like that comes around and evens it up! Hard done by there, poor 2nd goal to give away, but it wasn't a penalty IMO, Honeyman got the ball, and the guy went over on his ankle. im disappointed too despite winning money today, hopefully laughing at leeds might cheer me up. Unlucky not to get a point. Gave it a real go but beaten by a dodgy penalty, a piece of sloppy defending and a card happy referee. Going to be difficult games over Christmas but I think we have enough in this team (with a couple of additions in January ) to stay up. As hard as we fought it was hard to see where another goal was coming from, highlights our lack of striking options, again. Thought we deserved a point though if only for scoring a proper goal, ie not a non-penalty or a bit of comic defending. Well I also thought the pen should have been a free kick for a foul on Honeyman. Wilks certainly got away with a clumsy shirt pull minutes before though. It was an even game overall and if City can keep this level of performance up they'll definitely move up the table. As many shots, as many onntarget, same amount of corners. But more fouls committed by us and more yellow cards so surely we were the rightful winners? "The stats can tell fibs – but they don't lie" CLIVE TYLDESLEY The penalty looked ridiculous. We probably got a point because of the ref at Reading but think we've had 2 potential wins converted to draws in the last 2 games because of poor decisions. Having said which, Wilks has been fouling players in our area from set pieces for a season and a half now so we may have reaped what he sowed on that if the ref was evening things up. Disappointing to get done by a pen that never was and one bit of poor defending. As others said before, we no longer look anything like a relegation team ..... but not quite good enough to push on .... especially up front. T Smith looks lost and we know the others aren't really good enough, bar KLP who should be playing as a striker.. Don't think we did enough going forward to deserve anything out of that. Possibly being harsh. Also from the City end it looked like a penalty, but would have to see it again and I can't be arsed! I think Smith could be useful if he got the ball in space, but the problem is he really seems to have no idea what he's doing so he rarely makes runs into spaces where he might get the ball, he needs to watch KLP for some lessons. Magennis/Wilks was the main problem today, without any quality in the front 2 we can't hang on to the ball, and even if they get hold of it it's a lottery whether they'll manage to pass to someone in the same coloured shirt. Hope the new DOF was taking copious notes today. Watched at home. It 100% wasn't a pen. Might have looked like it in real time but play backs showed it absolutey wasn't. ''Funny' listening to home commentary .... they went totally quiet about it It is a bit harsh I think. First half they were all over us but we defended manfully and we led with a good goal. Second half I thought was pretty even and we looked ok going forward just that once we got forward that was the end of it! Agree about Magennis and Wilks. Magennis put in a shift again, but did next to nothing as a striker. Wilks was absolutely hopeless and anonymous yet again. Longman had an off day, really poor after a couple of very good performances - odd. And Elder doesn't look right either. Unlikely to win when 2 or 3 are way off it. From the city end it never looked like a penalty to me. The pen wasn't a pen but we got away with one a few mins earlier. I felt we matched them. A cliche, but a draw would have been a fair result today. Almost certain that penalty would have been overturned if there had been VAR. On the other hand other transgressions which were missed might have been noticed if there was. Awful decision for that penalty. Absolutely awful. No wonder Grant was booked. Wilks managed to foul Magennis today which was something new. They were the better team but not by much. It was a fair result but it wasn't a penalty. Not too upset to be honest and I usually am when we get beat. If we play at that standard we won't be relegated. Magennis isn't good enough. Wilks could be but he needs someone to help him with his football intelligence. Longman had a poor game - it happens. Bernard is inexperienced so he'll make mistakes - which cost us big time today but overall I'm happy to have him in the team. Honeyman is such an improved player from the headless chicken of our last relegation season. Docherty is looking a player and a half at the moment. KL-P will be a top, top larker. He isn't currently, he needs to go to a Premier League team who'll coach him better and play him with better players (obviously). Eaves and Smith aren't at the standard we need. Bottom line, we need more quality up front. Our forward two at the moment look lost. Magennis grafts but isn’t good enough for this level, same as Eaves. Wilks just doesn’t look like he knows what his role in the team is. Is he a striker, a winger, who knows? Even he doesn’t. Shame because I think with the right guidance, he could be a good player. Been out with the kids today so not seen the game, have seen the penalty.......can't really complain after Reading can we? And have seen our goal......wowsers.....genuinely one of the best technical goals i've seen us score in a long time, the ball from McLoghlin is the kind of thing that TAA or alike plays and they spend 5 mins on MOTD jacking off over it, KLP's first touch, absolutely sublime, sets himself then whack, keeper doesn't even move. Wouldn't have looked out of place in any game at any level that goal, top stuff from the pair of them. I thought Forest looked a good team. We played ok but Wilks and Magennis didn’t offer the same level of threat as Forest’s attack. Unjust penalty turned the game, but I don’t think we can really complain about the result - they shaded it. Longman was off colour, but bizarrely Elder was even worse when he came on (he doesn’t look comfortable as a wing back) - though KLP seemed to relish swapping sides. V impressive attendance figure.

*cough. What? Forest put 'improving' Hull in the blender for half an hour of the 1st half. Gave them the squeeze in the 2nd. SA.

Funny how their goal was "sublime" and ours were a dodgy pen and terrible defending..
Their goal and Jonnos goal were both a result of defender misjudging flight of the ball. But what followed-by both- was pure class. Thought Hull were OK, but 1st half we could/ should have been out of sight. Wonder if DJ will comment on his lad not squaring for Grabbs for a simple tap in instead of shooting wide? No?

Middlesborough Pre Match Comments.....
Merry Christmas everybody and welcome to the Boxing Day clash After this season's most impressive display, Boro will face another tuff challenge, when in form Forest visit The Riverside. This looks like it could be a real feast for the spectators, as both teams want to play ball and both teams are doing very well since getting better managers. Questions from all of us to all of you: 1: Unchanged team? 2: Will Taylor get even better? 3: Do you think both teams are happier without Britt Assombalonga? 4: Is it time to finally unleash Payero? Maybe as a second half sub? 5: Will our team learn how to pass the ball to Sporar, when he makes those marvelous in between moves? 6: Is Payero the answer to question 5? 8: Did you notice we skipped question 7? 9: What's for dinner on Christmas eve? 10: Win, draw or lose? 11: Will we recall Djed Spence come January? Would he be perfect in a Wilder team? With more games are called off the real question is, will the game actually go ahead. I hope it does as I hope we win because, what’s Boxing Day without a game. Looks like this is set to be our biggest crowd for many a year with a near sold out away end should be a cracking game and atmosphere as two sides battle it out for 5th place. I'm hoping the loss of Spence will impact forest as they seem to play similar formation to us but without Djed will be vulnerable to pace. Come on boro let's battle for what will be a massive win 1: Unchanged team? If it is possible then I think we will be unchanged. 2: Will Taylor get even better? I think he has reached his peak but is a good fit for us through until the end of the season 3: Do you think both teams are happier without Britt Assombalonga? Probably not. Both teams have struggled to replace his goals. 4: Is it time to finally unleash Payero? Maybe as a second half sub? I wouldn’t change a winning team so no not yet. 5: Will our team learn how to pass the ball to Sporar, when he makes those marvelous in between moves? eventually they will read him just in time for him to go back to Portugal with 7 goals under his belt 6: Is Payero the answer to question 5? don’t think we have seen enough of him to know. 8: Did you notice we skipped question 7? I didn’t 9: What's for dinner on Christmas eve? cheese board and port 10: Win, draw or lose? win 11: Will we recall Djed Spence come January? Would he be perfect in a Wilder team? undecided on both counts. 1: Unchanged team? Yes 2: Will Taylor get even better? Yes. 3: Do you think both teams are happier without Britt Assombalonga? Yes. 4: Is it time to finally unleash Payero? Maybe as a second half sub? Yes and yes. 5: Will our team learn how to pass the ball to Sporar, when he makes those marvelous in between moves? Yes, eventually. 6: Is Payero the answer to question 5? Yes. 8: Did you notice we skipped question 7? Yes. 9: What's for dinner on Christmas eve? Cheeseboard. 10: Win, draw or lose? Draw. 11: Will we recall Djed Spence come January? Would he be perfect in a Wilder team? No. Yes. So tempted to change the header title back to Boro but as you had a win last time out am feeling Xmasy so going to leave as is! Massive game and a good Boxing Day fixture for the fans. Time to reverse the away game result, kidnap Spence and lock him away in the store room until January. Thankfully he will not be able to spill the beans as he has not worked under Wilder..............yet! Kick on with a win and certainly Boro fans have every reaon to be cheerful................part three! To all of you going have a great and happy day! Big big game if we have play off aspirations. A tough game and a true play off six pointer. Would keep the same team give or take injuries. I wouldn’t drop Tav just yet. He’s still doing a very good job for us off the ball. I’m hoping a goal will give him the confidence he needs to relax a little bit more when he’s in possession. Marc Bola sounds like he's out for awhile, could be out for 6-8 weeks Aye, posted in the transfer thread but Taylor is to sign a new contract until the end of the season so he'll definitely be starting on Boxing Day.
