Notts For 2-0 PNE
back underway

The build up is far too slow.

It is slow virtually all the time.

Same team starts second half!

Radio Lancs have just been discussing Potts saying he is playing as a floater. The only floaters Potts knows about are the ones he leaves on people's cars.

YELLOW Grabban (Notts For) Foul

Could be a drubbing at this rate.

YELLOW Storey (PNE) Foul

I warned you the referee is famous for his Yellow cards

refs f*****g awful as usual

Someone tell this ref he doesn’t have to produce a yellow for every single foul

Forest have the worst home record in the league. Hence why we haven’t even attempted to threaten Samba

We have been diabolical since Pat went off, He was hurt in an earlier challenge, didnt look comfortable but carried on for a bit.
Since then we have looked very laboured in our build up and given the ball away at every opportunity usually when under no pressure.
Potts must have thought he would get 2 points for a conversion just before the break when it was far easier to put it in the net.
He is not alone though in not being able to put a foot right. Forest arent great by any means but since their lad bought the Pen they have shown more desire than us and been quicker to the ball and hit us on the break fairly often. In comparison we are sluggish and clueless.
Colback had nobody anywhere near him on the edge of the box for the second when it came out to him and Potts turned his back and waved the shot through.
To the manager..Get some subs on who look like they care ..or give someone else a go

I can accept lacking quality, but this properly properly hacks me off. Turning his back and ducking out of the way of the shot. Players should be putting everything on the line not to concede a goal. Embarrassing

SUB Earl OFF Cunningham ON - PNE
SUB Potts OFF Sinclair ON - PNE

Sinclair and Cunningham on for Potts and Earl

2-0 down and bringing on a defender. I know Earl hasn’t been great, but it doesn’t scream trying to get back into the game does it

louder cheers than their goals for potts subbed off

Time for one of our players to start ripping someone a new arsehole. Come on Sinclair - show us some quality and sort this crap out.

Potts gone off straight to the changing room to do his pony

I don't think we have ever done well against Steve cooper's teams

SUB Mighten OFF Lolley ON (Notts For)

We have a tactical genius in charge.... Don't give up hope.....

This is actually painful. We look clueless

I predict we'll lose this game.

we will draw 2-2

Best ref I've seen all season.

3-0

clear foul on Cunningham there, might have been just outside the area but the ref wasnt interested

Notts For 3-0 PNE
Goal - Grabban

We’ve been due a drubbing all season, and we’ve delivered absolutely superbly

This is not reactionary. Wednesday should’ve changed nothing. Frankie out. He is not good enough

What a f*****g turd of a game

f*****g pathetic defending. I wanted Frankie to prove me wrong but he hasn't.

Pathetic tactics, pathetic performance.

That defence without Bauer is just a set of cones for the opposition to walk past.

3-0 down against a team that have only won 1 home game all season, this is awful, we had a good bounce after the Blackpool defeat but its back to the same old crap again now

Looking at 4-0 or even 5-0 today

Damage limitation now methinks

Maybe the ref would feel able to award us a pen for a third foul in the box now the game’s out of reach.

They might be unbiased but they don’t often look it.

should have had a penalty, we we're unlucky, basically, it'll be someone elses fault and nothing to do with his awful team selection and tactics

They got a bit of luck with the ricochet off VDB but the defending on the whole was f*****g dog shit.

Grabban stood on his Jack with all the time in the world to pick his spot.

Notts For 3-0 PNE
SUB Grabban OFF Taylor ON (Notts For)

No point blaming the ref or even tactics or even squad quality. Not enough fire and determination. No way should they be 3 up, you can see why Forest have a terrible home record. They look no better than us, we have gifted them a win here.

Frankie clearly isn't a manager but he won't be going anywhere for a little while after winning the last 2

Ben Rhodes just said it's down to mid week travel and game. Excuses excuses excuses

Not a lot in the game but there's a big difference.
They had Grabban.
We had Potts.

we have been shit no question but have to say forest are pretty f*****g shit themselves

They’ve been better than us as the score shows

Taylor takes the piss out of Storey with pretend blubbing....

This commentator, forrest have been shit too but its as if they played wonderful stuff.

All Forest have had to do since going 3 up is watch us tit about with the ball in non-dangerous areas and wait for us to pass the ball straight to them.

Notts For 3-0 PNE
3 Minutes added on.

Onto the F1, where there’s less risk of seeing a car crash than there is watching North End

The Aftermath...........

Not one bastarding shot on goal in the second half.
f*****g rubbish.

Full time is the best news I’ve heard this afternoon

Just Forests second home win all season

Worst defensive record in the league and we’ve managed 1 shot on target. We’re garbage

One of the easiest game Forest will have played this season. They didnt even have to break a sweat.

Whole match was an embarrassment, I’m fuming!! Waste of time going to the match!
Hopefully Hooters can put a smile back on my face

It’ll be the fans fault again, Forest were excellent and we were just unlucky, decisions went against us and we didn’t deserve to lose by 3

Forest where really average but we were awful. I felt sorry for Riis who at least tried his heart out feeding off scraps. Even though Maguire has average at times he's still much much better than Potts. Now the forum be negative for a couple of weeks. Frankies out of his depth but won't be sacked. Season gonna be awful if this continues

Missed the last 10 minutes, did we win 4-3?

Yeah mate potts came back on. One with his left, one with his right, one with his head and one with his bellend.

How the f**k can we go and win at Bournemouth and then serve up this dross like we did today. Had loads of the ball but we can't do anything with it. Frankie needs to go, clearly doesn't know what he's doing. Take Potts with him and Risdale as well. These are a good set of players as we saw on Wednesday night, the clubs needs to bring someone in who will get the best of them. We are going backwards under this regime.

There were a number of game changers in the 1st half which meant we were beaten at 1/2 time.

1. The apparent confusion between Potts and Johnson as to who was playing the Maguire roll.
2. The loss of Bauer
3. Conceding a penalty when we did.
4. The Potts miss

I was impressed with Whiteman and McKante in midfield and still excited about the SVDB/Barkhuizen partnership.

Fans fighting each other and chucking bottles on the pitch added to what was a crap away day. As much as the ref didn't help at times, what was our actual plan? Ponderous passes along the back line until we either gave it away or lumped it. We had no urgency, no movement and we just look devoid of a strategy. Brought straight back down to earth with a whimper.

So much for being the gentry. Shame on whatever that was, I hope CCTV gets them and they get banned. However bad the team / coaching / management (delete as applicable) is, that's a poor reflection after a great away turn out

Another football on Quest free weekend.

Middlesbrough have sacked Warnock. They’re 14th and a point ahead of us. Drew 1-1 with West Brom
We’re 17th and apparently Frankie is doing nothing wrong
Chris Wilder coming in for Boro

There are some absolute idiots who follow North End away. Runs through English football though - look what happens when England lose a big game.

Unfortunately there was 3 guys in front of me who did nothing but berate Forest fans all game and one of them spent the second half "offering" one Forest fan outside!

I don't know if I'm in a massive minority, but I honestly don't think we were that bad today. Other than the goals we conceded, which were fairly self-inflicted, I think we were the better team. Losing Pat in the first half was massive (No disrespect to Jordan Storey, but I would definitely have put Paul Huntington on in the centre of the 3 centre halves). I know we created little (Brad Potts missed chance could've been a game changer), but I thought the effort & commitment was definitely there, even at 3-0 down. Today was a bad result, but it's over with now. Go & enjoy the fireworks & be safe
ps .. This isn't Frankie or Peter Risdale & I'm also not a wind up merchant. It's just a North End fan who has definitely seen much worse.

Potts can't score can't defend can't play football

‘Pottsy’ turned his back in play when Colback scored their second goal... he has limited bravery ( Tom Clarke used to stand tall and take it in the face if he had to ). This action followed on from the Bournemouth game when Stacey lined up to shoot and ‘ Pottsy’ again turned his back on the shot. His shot when through to Iverson who had to make a good save ... this followed by an instant second save which everyone , including me, regarded as exceptional play. Why don’t you run the Sky match video, from the Cherries match which demonstrates Pottsy’s frailties.

Did think about stopping by Hooters on the way out of the ground but I’d already spent 2 hours watching 11 massive tits run around the city ground.

Embarrassing display, Storey and Earl were just abysmal

There is a common theme, opposing teams seem to play a lot down down our left . Forest yet another , especially in the first half.

We were caught cold in the first half but theven defending for the goals could have been better. 2nd half we controlled possession but could get a clear cut chance which might have turned the game. Interesting hearing radio Notts view on it , gave us a lot credit for the 2nd half, a few worries from them by the sounds of it.
I wish the fans wouldn't massively over react to wins then massively overreact to losses. It makes no sense.
As a footnote, how do they get away with having the home fans in the tier above the away fans at the city ground? It clearly can't be policed properly, with only a pair of Nora Battie's stockings to protect the unfortunates below. A good few bits and bobs were thrown down on us when they scored the third. Took a bit of explaining to my little boy who was in tears.

Probably in response to one of our own numpties throwing a bottle on just before they scored their 3rd.
When Samba reacted to the third goal going in there was a nasty incident with our fans pushing forward. I luckily grabbed my lad before he went down with them. Hopefully all lads got up and are injury free.

Not sure today showed that tbh. Did we look any more fragile with a four at the back today? Not for me, but that was mainly because Forest stopped attacking in the second half really.

But yeah, Storey in particular is just an absolute joker. I genuinely cannot believe some fans rate the bloke. He is shite

Forest still found time in the second half to dance around our entire shambles of a defence to score their 3rd.

It wasn't just Storey either - all of them were crap.

The game was over as soon as Forest got a second. They were able to sit in and counter, and we don't have the quality to break teams down.

Having a team full of people who want to run in behind like Barkhuizen, Riis, Potts, Browne, Sinclair, and others is all well and good if you've got the first goal and can hit the ball over the top into space and play on the counter, but when we have to break teams down we are utterly toothless. We really need to start recruiting some creative, technical forward players, not just runners. The only route to goal at the moment seems to be to give it to Riis and hope he can charge through on goal all by himself. Our reliance on him and Iversen to get us points isn't healthy.

Our defence isn't even that steady with Bauer in, but take him out and it can become a mess. Storey was all over the place when he came on. Again, this is an area that needs looking at in the market. As for the manager I will comment in the relevant thread.

Having had time to reflect on todays game…there were two key moments that were major impacts on the performance and result.
Firstly, due to injuries replacing Maguire and Browne with Johnson and Potts.
The clanger here was to let Johnson and Potts swap their roles….Frankie had to decide who was the 10 and who was supporting Riis….he didn’t and it showed.
Second key moment was Bauers injury…really does show how important he is to our team and if he’s not fit we will struggle

Thanks for posting these Joe.

I'm not gonna comment on their views regarding the match, but I sincerely hope Forest report the PNE fans to the EFL/FA for the damage they have apparently caused to the TV's in the away fans concourse.

If this is the third time (?) this season PNE have smashed up an away ground, then the book needs to be thrown at the club and the club be punished. This may then stop the mindless and unnecessary vandalism carried out by the mindless few

Didn't hear about this on the Radio Commentary.  And they've trashed other away grounds too?

If there has been damage caused, Forest need compensating.

What did Fray do wrong? :O

Didn't they like the grass at the City Ground? Or the mist? Did they ladder their tights? Or crack a finger nail?

'forrest' and 'Notts' oh dear. They deserved their loss. That had their win vs Bournemouth. Can't win 'em all, PND.

Whilst walking out after the game through the BC car park there were some groups of PNE yobs searching for trouble. I saw the police intervene using a couple of fairly excited canine officers who seemed to me to be both peckish and keen to do their jobs. Seems to me that the best response to clubs whose fans cause trouble when they're away is to refuse them tickets. Guess the EFL would have to ok it but it would work.

Reading Fans Pre Match Comments......

When : Saturday 20th November 2021, 3pm
Where : SCL Stadium, Reading, RG2 0FL
Capacity : 24,161

Saturday sees Nottingham Forest pay their seasonal trip to the town of Reading for what will be a very difficult game.

Forest started the season badly and got worse (6 defeats and a draw from 7 league games). They then sacked Mr Hughton and imported a Mr Cooper from Swansea and since then they have become well organised, difficult to beat and get thoroughly decent results so this is going to be a real challenge. Their form since the managerial change is 6 wins and 3 draws from 10 games, the one defeat was a 4-0 stuffing at home to Fulham, and have not lost away from home since August. Given that run and the major injury problems at Reading, the club will have done well if they get something out of the game.

Former Reading loanee Lewis Grabban is once again proving his value and what he can provide for a club when he’s actually played as a forward. He’s leading the Forest scoring charts by some way with 8 goals from 11 starts so his service needs to be cut off and strangled before he gets the chance to do any damage. Lyle Taylor is the other half of the strike threat and again can be a thorough nuisance if not shut out of the game as much as possible. The Forest defence is also looking quite useful with the likes of Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna plus full back DJed Spence who is getting very good reviews currently, though he maybe returning to his parent club Middlesbrough in January.

Forest have no injury list, well I don’t call 2 players (Loic Mbe Soh and Jordi Osei-Tutu) an injury list. Meanwhile injuries continue to ravage Reading with currently 12 players crocked though there are rumours that some might actually recover sufficiently to be involved. While I won’t be holding my breath on that it would be great to have the likes of Rinomhota (well it’ll have to happen one day), Halilovic, Hoilett, McIntyre, Araruna and Drinkwater available again if only because it’ll actually put some options on the bench for the management to consider.

Lastly, of course Andy Carroll might be sat on the bench waiting for his chance to show Puscas how it’s done and as he hasn’t played for 6 months, and not regularly for 2 years, expectations shouldn’t be too high on him so he has a chance to live up to them. At least it’ll give opposition defenders something scary to worry about for the few minutes he does get on the pitch.

Historically

Forest have made 23 previous visits to Reading for a league game with all but 4 being at Division 2 level. They have won on 6 of those visits and when Reading lose at home to Forest in the league they fail to score.

Reading have managed 11 wins from those 22 previous visits and have won 5 and drawn 1 of the last 6 encounters at the Mad Stad so there is currently something to live up to here.

Andy Carroll hat-trick incoming before he gets a whack on the ankle ruling him out til mid January.

I wonder if I can get odds on a Carroll injury from this game.

Would go with that, Hoilett looked OK up top against Boro. Guess another question is whether we stick with the usual 4-2-3-1 with Holmes RB and Yiadom further forward or try and match Forest and go 3/5 at the back

Potential for a much stronger bench with the likes of Araruna, Tetek, Drinkwater and Halilovic returning. Hopefully Carroll too and Puscas if he doesn’t start

My money is on Carroll decent cameo where he's hailed as Jesus, followed by shit game and injury next time out.
Reply
That sounds about right, Carroll comes on for the last 30 mins, torments us and knocks in a couple of goals before going off injured never to be seen in a Reading shirt again.
