A club paying 13M doesnt mean he was that good. It means a club were daft enough to pay silly money on an unproven players.

RB Leipzig is known to buy young promising talent and they seldom miss with their investments. Burke showed raw talent and bags of potential and you have to pay for that. West Brom even payed 2 m more to get him back to England. If he had kicked on from where he left at Forest he would possibly have been worth double the transfer fee.

Thing is Garibaldi, I would question both RB and West Brom's judgement. RB because the season was hardly underway when they took him and West Brom paying even more for him with him having failed at RB. Where is the sense in either transfer apart from the selling clubs willingness to unload with such fees being on offer.

There are a few German clubs investing in ENglish young talent, perhaps because the international sides have had some success on an international stage. Take them early cheaper, develope them, benefit from their talents and then perhaps sell at a huge profit. So, for RB to release Burke at such an early stage suggests to me they realised they had made a mistake.

We will only know the answer to the question in the coming years
