Well, that's it Pap, he has a reputation for falling out with people.
He was big mates with McCabe at the Blades who used to let him just get on with things; once McCabe had gone things quickly turned sour.
I agree with you that Wilder may bring problems. Im going to be balanced on this though.
Cooper fell out with the hierarchy at Swansea over the direction the club was taking, reduction in funds, dealing with a foreign ownership, frustrations at not being able to bring in a striker of his choice back in January. All are problems he will face here.
Good points!
Cooper will need to deal with all of those issues, but at least he will be arriving with his eyes wide open.
My worries with a Cooper appointment is the perception that he will be a Hughton mk2 with a rigid approach to defensive play which sacrifices attacking intent.
It is to be hoped to God that he takes time to look at our performances this season and notes the stark difference between what the players are like when allowed off of the leash, compared to the muted performances prior to Saturday.
We were treated to the best of both worlds on Saturday; bright, lively passing and movement when we got the chance, and disciplined defensive play when we had to - there is no reason why the two should be mutually exclusive.
One thing that stood out on Saturday was what a huge upgrade Spence and Lowe are on what we had last season; Zinckernagel looks like an upgrade on Konckheart and with Drager Ojeda and Silva still to show what they are made of, we could end up with a transfer window that looks more inspired by the day.
Totally agree mate, I think in our position the blend and transition between the attacking press and then being defensively resolute will be key, there has to be an opportunity for players to be able to have freedom to play and enjoy the game.
They have been my 2 biggest points across the last year, if we allow them to play and give them confidence that they can win games for us rather than making them concentrate on defending first before attacking. The player that will affect the most is Joe Lolley, we may well see a bit more of the old Joe if cooper allows the team the freedom to hurt the opposition and not restrict them with shackles we will be heading north in the table in no time.
We will only get stronger too with the players you mention. How nice is it to feel positive on a Monday morning, I am just hoping cooper does not make us realise our concerns in his style.

Forest are taking their time over this appointment. I guess negotiations are ongoing. Or maybe they're working their way through all the other candidates.
The fullbacks. Massive difference. Spence was a real live wire in the last game. Night and day compared to last season. Now that we finally have both on the pitch.
Pity we didn't have them for the 1st four games.
Oj' is the one I'm intrigued about of the players yet to show their hand.

Regards the Wilder/Cooper debate that Sniffer mentions regards possible job interview. Could it be that maybe the Wilder direction was something the old guard was considering while Dane wanted Cooper as he seems in-line with how the club will change under his leadership? Maybe Dane won the day along with the type of players we seemed to have targeted and subsequently signed which pissed off some staff at the club?

Dane is the CEO so the manager is his choice as are the player's signed in the last window. Not sure why some staff would be pissed off
I don't think there is any sort of competition going on at the club. Dane is calling the shots as you would expect a CEO to do. Vrentzos is in Athens and is now listed on companies house as just being a director. He can't possibly be involved in the day to day running of the club if he's not even living in the UK any more.
NFFC is Danes 'toy' now.

The thing about reduction in funds is a red herring. Surely all coaches know what FFP means now and as a club in the final year of parachute payments it is obvious Swansea had to cut their cloth accordingly. Just like us - we have to survive within the rules. Our income is restricted heavily compared to relegated premiership clubs and we rely on player sales and owner investment to balance books. Our only advantage is the size of our support. But that is then hindered by lack of income due to our facilities.
The new stand can’t come quick enough as this is exempt from FFP and would add income of done properly.
Some clubs Covid has really impacted due to the loss of revenue from outside of football events.
We really should be more understanding regarding the level of EMs investment.
We now seem to have a plan and if we get our recruitment right the player sales may not hinder us as much in the future.
Our academy has one or two outstanding striking talents too that I am very excited about over the coming years…

Murphy made it clear during his very first interview that he has a collaborative style of management; he includes as many people as possible in the decision making process.
Regarding the recent announcement on the Companies House Website: the announcements posted on there are not in real time.
Forms have to be submitted on the date the changes take place; the updates on the website take place once CH have done their due diligence - they have to check that the person is not disqualified or has some other reason which prevents them becoming a Director.
It is not uncommon for there to be 4 or 5 or 6 weeks between the change taking place and the announcement at CH.

The good news about that is it hopefully gets everyone pulling in the same direction.
That is the 'Guiding Star' behind Dane's thinking. 'True North' and all that.
I guess it makes Forest less vulnerable to managers coming and going and having to rinse the cost of players from successive manager's transfer windows.
It's not done Brentford or Swansea any harm.

Considering it is an almost certainty that it will be Cooper taking over the reigns, I wish the club would just make the damned announcement. Some of us have a predictions league to run and if we do make an announcement this week, then I have one to make too! :-/

Fulton priced at £3 million, allegedly.
Is he worth that? Will Cooper get his man this January?

Anyone else thinking there might be an issue with the deal? The players will presumably be back in tomorrow to prepare for Saturday and the new coach won't be. Surely if we have chosen our man we'd want to give him all the time available before his first game. Leaving things to the last minute seems to be the way Murphy does his business.
We've apparently agree the compo, he's out of work. What can they possibly be sorting now? Has he realised we pay peanuts for wages or is it just because Murphy is away?
