Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager

Uwantlee said he'd be happy to lose 5-0 as long as we attack so I'd like to hold him to that  :D

Montanier it is then :)

If we are to start all over again it better be the Dane Murphy's way. Go get the next Valerien Ismael. He seems to have what it takes.

I was under the impression he chose Ismael as his computer said he played a high press which suited Barnsley's players and philosphy.

On that basis we will get another Sabri/ CH type manager who plays 2 cdm's as thats our philosophy now.

Not sure I understand what you mean but Valerien Ismael is nothing like Sabri and CH. Valerien is much more in the Bielsa mold. High intensity and high pressing with extreme fitness levels. Players are not allowed to just jog around they have to sprint. It seems to work at West Brom as well.

Murphy decided that his squad's attributes needed a high intensity, high press manager. It was based on what he had assessed his squad needed based on the stats.

If he does the same with us he'll conclude we're a defensive sound low risk side so he'll choose a manager who can make the most of those qualities.

I believe what they did at Barnsley was to realize that they could never compete with the bigger clubs player for player so they decided that they had to find others ways to beat the opposition. The conclusion was that they would have superior fitness levels and out run the opposition (high intensity and high press forcing the opposition to make errors). This strategy is very much a generic one and can easily be adopted by other teams.

It's funny how things work out.

I remember Valerien Ismael when he worked here in Greece (probably not many people know that).

Anyway he was bloody useless.

I can just imagine the meltdown on here if EM would have appointed him :)

It's a funny old game.

Steve Cooper will do for me, he had Swansea playing some good football and his team made us look very poor, likes to play fast attacking football.
