Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager
Apparently he switched to a 3 5 2 to suit the players he had. Very flexible with formations. I won't mention his name, but I think I know who he is. Sounds like the antithesis of what we have.

It's not him I was referring too.

A club like ours can barely back a manager to form a plan A, never mind give them a squad deep & versatile enough to have a plan B.

Plan A is for incumbent manager to get playoffs, plan B is for them to get sacked and to be replaced by someone else that will inevitably fail to achieve Plan A

Sorry Sniff. I thought I had nailed that.

According to Warburton Plan B was to do Plan A better. But that wasnt good enough for Forest fans either and because he tried to play the passing game we are now demanding he was labelled as playing “tippy tappy shit” so we sacked him and he went to a club which he is starting to turn around nicely.

Anyway my take on it is still be careful what you wish for. There has been an amount of trawling CH’s record at previous clubs and then holding that agains the perceived qualities of others. Here are some alternative takes on leading contenders

Eddie Howe
the Cherries' defence were lacking in confidence, positional awareness and an understanding who should be doing what. West Ham made them pay for an abundance of ball watching, space between defensive personnel and aimless pointing into those gaping chasms.

Chris Wilder
Last season's robustness has been in stark contrast to displays pockmarked by poor positioning or lapses in concentration, individual errors giving way to collective nerves.
Only Burnley have managed fewer goals and only Newcastle have taken fewer shots, and while that is little surprise for a side that has focused on quality over quantity under Wilder, the Blades have the biggest negative difference between expected goals (7.7) and goals scored (4) in the division so far.

Zinedine Zidane (well he is available, come on wheres your ambition?)
Los Blancos couldn’t step up when it mattered the most, and the players were beaten by a well-determined set of players. And Zinedine Zidane got tactically outcoached by Thomas Tuchel, as the Frenchman had no answer to the German coach’s tactics and perfect setup.

I get the frustration at CH but we have failed with so many different managers I simply do not belive changing is the silver bullet answer that some seem to think.

You can forget Howe.

He was very interested in the Job at Celtic but they would not stump up for the entourage he wanted to bring with him; he will be far too rich for our taste

I think most people wanted him to tighten up the defence, play it longer, maybe some more DMs... :D

Sasa Pinter maybe? If murphy likes to raid the bundesligas for attacking gengenpressing young type,  just a wild guess.. does sound intriguing tho sniffer.. does that mean we're talking to replacements?

No it doesn't mean that. I think we are all getting ahead of ourselves.

Life's little irony's eh? lol

Good post schaps. If we land a relatively attacking manager with a plan A which takes us higher in the league, I'm more than happy to give that a season or two to bare fruit.

In Warbs I think we had that, and that giving him the 3 years which we've wasted chasing our tails would have seen us in a better position now tbh.

But here we are, so forward we move.

Can we start talking about this now? Absolute dross.

Hmm not that many realistic targets is there ….

Wilder
Lampard / Morris

More likely to be an unknown foreign coach I guess, if we’re following the Barnsley model
