Week 1 Temperature Check

Now I know how much everyone likes a poll, I mean no-one has explicitly said so but I'm sure you all agree... :D

So simple quest, just to see where everyone stands on the recruitment team/manager.

So what should happen?

(Feel free to tell me to stop posting these!)

Good to see you back posting, Commander in Chief.

Sanity prevails.

:D yeah perhaps I shouldn't show bias on these polls to get a fairer result.

Currently 35% want him out, higher than I expected.

If we sack Houghton we'll be the laughing stock of the football world.

Again.  :D

I'd rather we just leave that accolade to the sheep for a while.

Chill out from me. If we're still losing games and not performing to scratch after the transfer window has closed, then I'll start to get twitchy.

We didn't play amazingly, we didn't kill the game off when we could have, however, two luckier deflections in our penalty area and we win that game rather than lose it.

Temperature checks are quote useful, the mood turned very quickly at the start of last season for Sabri, the tipping point on here was around the same time as when EM pulled the trigger I think.

The big one for Hughton will be the Sheep on 28th. Should we have nothing on the board and mange to lose to Rooneys kids/OAPs XI then the knives will be properly out.
i dont think it will happen by the way.

The mood changed for Sabri as it became obvious that he's lost it and was wounded from the end of the season before. I really wanted to back him but it was obvious he was a dead man walking and had to go as those defeats began to rack up and things were slipping away really before the season had got going. We're in nothing like that situation at present.

30% now I've voted.  A big 5% chunk of sanity thrown in.

Are we really doing temperature checks after 1 game. :P

That's a new record, even by Forest fans 'standards.'

Yeah.  Sabri. He sounded 'lost' in post match towards the back end of last season when Forest (and he) had completely lost it. From the moment Derby got that equaliser back...the tide of that match and all the matches after with Forest unable to secure a feeble amount of points to claim the play off spot. If ever you needed proof that the gods or Forest were contriving against themselves.

The pre-seasons this and last are completely different.

Forest have actually had a pre-season, cruelly interrupted with the two cancelled games.  And it did effect the fitness of the players yesterday.  See Hughton's 'prep' comments.  Forest had won games, scored goals, academy players were getting minutes, Brennan had scored a brace, Mighten a goal, Lyle, a goal...

Had Forest been fitter, they wouldn't have flagged so badly or lost those two (well, scruffy!!!) goals.

So.  Coventry and Bradford will have to be the games that begin to round out the 'pre-season' prep.  Not ideal.  But unlike last year, this couldn't be helped.  And recruitment hasn't finished replacing the 15(?) players let go.

Hughton's post match comments were spot on. And one of those was a nudge regarding recruitment.

Same here and my first choice replacement. He certainly fits in with what our new chief exec wants to do.
