Positives
The 1st half.
We actually created a few real chances.
A CF scored a CF goal.
Colback looked the player we all knew he was.
Soh-excellent 44 minutes.
All the young lads.
The away support-a proper club!
Negatives
The 2nd half
The result
The treatment Mighten and Johnson received suggests other teams can see where the danger will come from.
Overall I thought a point apiece would be a fair result, but as soon as the 6 minute board went up, you kind of knew we would struggle to hold out. Coventry are better than many think and I would sign OHare over every other midfielder in this division right now.
Onwards and upwards. Hang onto the crown jewellery please Forest...all of them.
Agree Colback looked like the player I knew he was. A Useless one!!
Widow, i really dont know what game you were watching today to make that statement. He was excellent generally. And lets not forget its the first game hes played for quite a while, he's only going to get better with more game time under his belt.
I was thinking more the player who was 2nd in supporters player of the year polls under Karanka and clearly a very good player at this level. Like Pap, I thought he looked very decent today, one of the few who managed it in both halves.
As an aside I am a bit surprised at the over the top and in some cases downright nasty reactions directed at some of our players this evening and our manager for that matter. I am certainly not a "happy clapper" and was as gutted as the next man in the 96th minute and at the result. Two of our subs were made as the lads coming off could not continue, yet CH is getting hammered for his use of subs! The usual scapegoats actually did OK in the circumstances.
Constructive criticism is fine, but these are young lads who gave everything today in a game that could have gone either way don't deserve some of the sh1t being directed at them. Collectively, we didn't hold onto the ball well enough 2nd half. We need to improve and any signings have to be at it from the off.
Rant over.
At last some sense coming through on this forum. Some of the reactions posted on here yesterday were ridiculous.

pre-season game - we lacked minutes and it showed, more positives then negatives for me but with a make shift defence we are at risk of losing more then winning. Great to see AM/BJ/JL and Soh looked decent until he pulled up. Great memories for the Coventry fans/players but yeah very gutting to lose last minute as thought we deserved at least a point.

Not too surprised by the defeat nor the injury time goal - it's not as if we don't have a history of conceding late, late goals.
Oh well - I thought we would be slow starters. I imagine we are still 3 or 4 players short of a competitive first xi and some may talk about the amount of youngsters on the bench, I would probably say it was more a worrying lack of depth - particularly as none of them were used which to some extent suggests they were not necessarily there by choice but necessity.

I actually thought Coventry were poor for the first hour or so, but with Hughton’s refusal to go for a second goal it was only ever going to play into there favour.
I never wanted this clown in the first place and it’s going to be a long hard season for as long as he’s here. There’s no excuse in the world for negativity….
How ironic from Mr. Negative himself.

A defensive unit comprising Worrall/McKenna Yates/Colback would likely win more than they lose for me.
Attacking threat of Johnson, Mighten, Lolley (don't know much about Zinkernagel) and Centre Forward scoring goals will do me. Remains to be seen if the CF scores goals - certainly didn't last season-but one from one is a good start.
The rest remains to be seen.
We’ll see mate.
I hope I’m wrong and always willing to hold my hands up when I am.

He’s entitled to his opinion and it’s difficult to argue with some of his points.
It’s no different to pointing and laughing at someone who is myopically happy clapping as we potentially head into another season of mediocrity (as it stands now)

This season was only ever going to achieve mediocrity.
What is more important is taking a different approach and breaking the cycle of failure.

This season is transitional and people need to understand that.
I’m not a fan of CH’s style and the dour let’s Nick a goal and defend attitude but the age profile and type of players that we seem to be looking at is positive and shows that we have acknowledged the problem and are trying to move forward.
There will be some highs and lows but that’s just Forest.
We can’t underestimate how much covid may have affected yesterday - we tired in the 2nd half and the cancelled 2 games took their toll.
From where I was sat 2 things changed the game for me - Mbe Soh injury and Mighten sub.
A big negative for me were a lot of fans near to where I was sat slagging off Yates for the free kick giveaway - we still had to defend it and didn’t.
And booing Bong - please don’t. He might not be what we want or need at left back but he’s wearing a forest shirt and put in a shift yesterday.
And fans arguing / nearly coming to blows about us taking the knee - just get over it.
Highs and lows. But we’re slowly trying to turn the oil tanker around.

A fair and balanced summary, Zicorice.
Coventry got two scruffy goals. Fortunate for them to win. (The ref had to give 6 mins extra. Where do these ref's find all this time when teams play Forest?)
The treatment of Mighten and Johnson was cynical. I'm surprised Coventry kept all their players on the pitch.
Forest didn't help themselves 2nd half but losing 2 CHs (Soh was very composed. Excellent even augers well for the future) and Grabban was a big hit for any team to take.
I thought the 1st half was very promising. If we'd had 3-4 more players in by now it would have made the difference. And it will make the difference. I'm surprised we let the season start with the LB issue. Bong and Colback got in a pickle for the 1st goal and that swung the momentum Coventry's way.
SA.

Perfect post HebdenRed. Hope you enjoyed being back supporting the lads yesterday despite the result.
