I'm not saying that Bong is a world beater I'm only referring to your comment stating that the team will be better off playing with 10 men which of course is not the case. It's just a stupid comment that's all.

I'm not saying that Bong is a world beater I'm only referring to your comment stating that the team will be better off playing with 10 men which of course is not the case. It's just a stupid comment that's all.

Bong did ok at times.  With some decent forward play.  Even setting up a goal once or twice (?) (and those were in short supply...last time out) for Grabban was it?

Did give away a stupid penalty wrestling somebody to the ground.  (Should know better with his experience.)

Starting to show his age defending.  But to be fair.  That Watford winger would probably have given Pearce a hard time.

He could still do 'a job' if we're caught short for a fullback but he's on borrowed time.  It's a position that isn't just defending anymore.  It has a broader mandate of getting up and down to support the attack (in Hughton's system?) and in general.  And you have to have young legs for that.  For example.  I can't run faster now than when I was younger.  I'd expect that applies to fullback footballers.

Where's Jim Brennan when you need him?

Under Murphy, I'd expect younger and more energetic players to come in.  And experienced players to be in their 'mid twenties-ish.'

Who is happy?

Aint nobody happy with Forest until they get promoted to the promised land.

Nobody thinks Forest are world beaters.  Forest are what they are.  A team that was poorly recruited over the last two seasons.  And 14 players out tells its own story.  As does coming top of the bottom 8?

To say Forest are a work in progress is being polite.  We're stating 'again.'  There are green shoots of recovery with Academy product and a sorely needed change in recruitment direction (180 emergency handbrake...) at last.  The dartboard used for recruitment has been thrown out?  At least Forest finally have a CEO who gets it...and an experienced manager who has promoted Brighton and Newcastle out of this league.

The football is pugilistic.  But that's the championship.  There aren't any Man Cities in this league.

The football wasn't better under the previous two French managers Forest had.

i think we have the makings of an exciting midfield/front line, i quite like the idea in some games of not playing a striker at all but a fluid midfield, even so i think Grabban is a terrific asset as well but more about pulling defenders out of position, sideways and up the pitch or having more scenarios where players are running at them and nullifying there bread and butter clearing high balls, just some games, but if we were feeling adventurous ...

I have noted Car's involvement in pre-season as Hughton runs the slide rule over all the returning loan players.  Car's had some moments of typical skill which he is capable of.  But there have been the same moments of frustration re: the basics.  If any manager can get a 'tune' out this player, it's Hughton.

The no.10 position could very much do with bringing in a player with energy, guile and can impose themselves on the game.  And hold the ball up...and bang in the odd goal.  Forest just didn't have that last season.  And it showed.  Krov' helped knit midfield to attack.  But it looks like the goal return wasn't enough for Forest to pursue a return seriously.

It will be interesting to see the line up vs Coventry.

part of my reasoning is we were totally predictable with the line ups last season which really makes opponents jobs much easier

there needs to be far more variety in approach, especially games we are expected to win, i don't really like treating strugglers like they are superior

another reason is we ain't really got outstanding players at lb or rb but maybe a far better than average midfield, especially with my cunning plan of playing the lot, zippy attacking orientated players with a modicom of muscle backing them up

either way if hughton wants to fail boring us all to death and setting up for a nil nil it will only be a matter of time, i was trying to be polite but some people on here still think CH is some sort of messiah when many of us think he's due for the knackers yard a spent force, dog meat, he'll go the same as sabri, 1 trick pony with noone listening to him anymore, oh yeh and his cautious cowardly approach needs to be binned

Nobody thinks Hughton is 'the messiah.'  We had one of those.  CLOUGH@!

But Hughton had gotten Brighton and Newcastle promoted.  Check out his record at Birmingham too.  (Just which exciting manager do you have in mind?  And which Championship teams played 'exciting' football last year?)

i wish the whole football industry could reset itself to being about being captivating, addictive, enthralling, fun and exciting

failing that i wish Forest could relaunch itself as being purely about entertainment and value underpinned with footballing principles and commitment to brightening up peoples dreary lives

yes this whole thing about NFFC is or should be about emotion

the money sort of ruins much of the ethics

but Hughton if nothing else won all the accolades across the board last season for being the most boring, predictable cautious, even cowardly manager and  unfortunately this isn't purely emotion speaking

Sunday new season, another opportunity to put things right, to Hughton this means riding his luck and nicking a 0.1
