Dunno but we're definitely going to be undercooked for the first game. Id image this next week would normally be critical for CH to work things but instead his squad will be sat at home vegetating.

We also have issues with both full back positions. Even if players come in in the next week they're not going to be ready, even if they're chucked into the side. And with no Krov or Garner are we ok in the middle of the pitch??

I thin Johnson will be more effective than Krovi.

And I think Garner will be back and play at Coventry. It’s not like he doesn’t know our system

Will Garner (and any other prem loanee) be match fitch though GR? Aren't the prem sides usually two weeks behind championship sides?

Baptism of fire then for any new signings.

I would imagine the Coventry game is in doubt. We don't know how many cases there are but I wouldn't bet on the game going ahead.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

It is a bit worrying that many blamed last years poor pre season to what happened after. Not sure how true that was but we dont have a full squad and warm up matches not happening this year s preparation certainly isnt any better.
Lets hope it isnt such a big deal after all.

At least we don't have the hangover from the disastrous finish to the previous season this time round though. That should help.

I think it will be a big deal. We'll have incomplete squad who are undercooked. Worst of both worlds.

What do you mean, i think we won just two games out of the last 14 end of last season, finishing with a 2-1 lost at home against Preston

Not a great finish, but hey least they stayed up

No, not a great finish. But not as devastating as the finish to the season before.

Anyone saying that didn't impact the start to last season is deluding themselves.

Yep, agreed. We had the hangover of the capitulation to deal with and a small pre-season which gave little time for a key players that finished the season before half injured to get fit. Oh, and we lost our star man too. Disaster.

With the lack of signings and now this covid thing, I just get the feeling our season is nose diving even before it's begun.

I watched the sheep play Betis last night on a spanish youtube feed. Even though they should've been 0-3 down, they put in an energetic and commendable performance. Their team of mis-fits and youth players, who we expect to be running around like keystone cops may well be more ready next weekend than we are.

I think the pre-season issue was overhyped anyway, we were in the same boat as loads of clubs and chose to allow more recovery time as opposed to more fitness time. Maybe that was a mistake, maybe not but I'm unconvinced that had a lasting impact for the entire season.

However the hangover from the previous year and mas influx of bodies will have done.

For me the bit that seems to constantly get conveniently overlooked is that we lost our best two players (cash and Watson) plus probably our next best 3-4 players to injury for the majority of the first half of the season (Worrall, Grabban, Lolley, Sow). Add to that the replacement Colback immediately getting injured along with another big signing in Freeman. We didn't exactly have a great hand to play with.
