Joao Carvalho
You sure about that Ozzy because that is not what I have been told.

Well I’m sure it’s the view of the group of established players who recently went on a holiday together…

I think this all started with Keane who in his style tried to get a bit of bite / fight out of him. He just isn’t made that way I guess…

He is a Forest player and therefore should have our full support, he has not done anything wrong other then fail to fully flourish at our club under great expectation levels due to the purchase price. The way he is is part of his DNA make-up, he cannot change that, we all know that he is a very capable footballer and we saw that during his early days in the club. If he his to be part of the 1st team squad in the immediate future then we should all give him our support, it will benefit both club and us as fans if he can reach that initial level in the future. If he stays great, we have a good and confident footballer playing for the team, if subsequently sold then we would obtain a much better price for any resultant transfer, its a win win situation all round.

He hasn't done much right either and it's easy to blame the price tag. Perhaps he just isn't as good as some people think he is.
There is no hatred just discussion as far as I can see. That is what we are here for.

Most players get detailed off-season programmes & rest is generally a massive part of that. Carvalho's season also ended 4 weeks later than ours so him not being back yet is to be expected. I don't think Johnson/Gabriel are back yet & their play off games were the week before Carvalho's.

There's plenty you can dig out Carvalho for without having a pop at him for proposing to his missus.

That picture was taken 22/6......10 days ago, so he may well be back in Nottingham for all we know.
I desperately want this guy to do well. He is the only one to have offered a small glimmer of hope for exciting football in countless years of absolute shite.

Therein lies the problem with Carvalho. He has offered a small glimmer only. For the money we paid for him, I would expect him to offer more than just a small glimmer of hope. I would expect him to be a match winner or match turner for most games, that's why we stumped up a record fee for him. If he isn't the player many hope he is, then my anger goes towards Mendez for having our pants pulled down when we signed him. If he is the player many hope he is, then he has got to start applying himself more and getting more involved in matches so that he does make the difference between a bang average player and the exciting magician many see him as.

I too wish he succeeds, but sadly on the majority of his showings so far and his apparently many being a sub at Almeria, I just don't think he has the right mindset to want to go out there and blaze a glory trail. If that is the type of person he is, then so be it. The Championship is a relentless and unforgiving league, we all know that. Maybe it is just too tough a league for the likes of Carvalho, who may well shine more in his own country, where the tempo is often no where near as tough or the games come thick and fast as they do in the Championship, or are as physical to play in. Those are things the clubs recruitment team should have considered BEFORE dipping their hand into the clubs pocket to buy the guy on the say so of an agent!

I am sure I saw Gabriel in the training photos a few days ago.

This is not about Carvalho proposing to his Mrs either!

It's about attitude, drive, determination, willingness etc etc. If the bloke is serious about his Forest future then he should have been back along with everybody else and if he must now quarantine for some days like some have suggested then that is even more reason why he should already have been back!
By the time is quarantine finishes (if it's correct) he will already be about 2 weeks behind the other player's.

One of the best signings we could make this summer would be a 2 year extension of Joao’s contract. Get it done, Dane!
