Joao Carvalho
I didn’t say Silva was poo, just that he wasn’t very good, and I meant that literally, ie the lack of something strong. So it’s not surprising that he didn’t make a step up to a team at a higher level. Carvalho on the other hand has the ability to suggest he could.

Is he doing that or is he sitting on a beach somewhere looking at himself in his phone and fiddling around with his hair?

Well I guess you got it nearly correct Sniffer.

If he is still in Portugal, does that mean he cant enter our country due to covid?

I don't want to sound mean but in my opinion this is everything that is wrong with Carvalho.

How long and how many chances has he had to propose to his partner?

All I can say is this...If it was me I would have insisted on coming back to the club the same day has all the other player's came back even if the manager said take your time I would have said no I am coming back and I am ready to start working hard from day one, I can't wait to get started and I am more determined than ever to win a place in the starting eleven.

This guy will not make it with us he doesn't have the drive, desire and passion for the job.

I tend to agree Sniffer. What is his excuse for not coming back earlier or at least the same time when the other player's came back.

If I remember well he didn't get on the pitch in Almeria's second play off match and he only played 45 minutes in the first one I think so he's hardly tired and in need of rest is he?

Isn’t it just technicality? His loan contract didn’t run out till Wednesday so he probably couldn’t come back? I don’t know how it all works and obviously knowing he has to quarantine anyway who knows maybe you should send him a DM on Instagram ask him about his priorities and if he feels he should move permanently abroad again so he can sit on beaches all he wants on his down time...

We own the player though and he's contracted to us.

I reckon he could have come back if he had the desire and willingness but he doesn't. Our loans went back to their parent clubs ages ago and Gabriel and Johnson have been back at Forest too from their loans at other clubs.

I know that some won't say a bad word about him because of the odd fancy flick once every 10 games but I won't hold back.

The blokes a fanny.

I wouldnt put it that harshly but I do agree with the sentiment. I have said often I rate Carvalho and would love to see him back in the team but I think mentally he checked out of Nottingham last summer and he aint coming back.

Yes I was perhaps a bit harsh and SM is much more refined :)

I just don't get all this fan hate for Carvalho. He is a Forest player and therefore should have our full support, he has not done anything wrong other then fail to fully flourish at our club under great expectation levels due to the purchase price. The way he is is part of his DNA make-up, he cannot change that, we all know that he is a very capable footballer and we saw that during his early days in the club. If he his to be part of the 1st team squad in the immediate future then we should all give him our support, it will benefit both club and us as fans if he can reach that initial level in the future. If he stays great, we have a good and confident footballer playing for the team, if subsequently sold then we would obtain a much better price for any resultant transfer, its a win win situation all round.

I’ll tell you what- the players really think highly of carvalho and his attitude is supposed to be spot on. A quiet hard working fella. They are desperate for him to succeed here as they know he has a special talent.

I remember once a manager who concentrated on what players could do rather than what they couldn’t and from a rag tag bunch produced a sublime team…
