Krov and Carvalho are different types of players so unfair to compare them really. If we are looking for a number 8 to link up play then Krov is fine but dont expect him to get goals or assists. If you have other midfielders taking up that slack but want a 10 to play the final ball then lets try Carvalho. I honestly dont know what CHs preferred system is..

A good midfielder should have a little of everything not be a 1 trick pony.
If you can only attack, then you are a winger.
Only win ball back, a defender.
That's why Garner stood out last season, and to some extent Cafu.

I don't buy into the concept of having to "carry" certain attacking players because they are so important for the team in an attacking sense. I posted in another thread a short video clip from the Ass Manager at Liverpool. In this clip he talked about Mane, Firmino and Salah. They had won a game against one of the better teams and the trio had played great attacking football. When praising the trio he didn't focus on the attacking part of the game but how they had managed to keep 6 of the opposition's players occupied by closing down and harassing them nonstop. That was what had given Liverpool the foundation to win the game. In his opinion that is what separates the good players from the great ones.
My point is that if you want to have a high performance team every single player will have to contribute in all parts of the game. There is no place for passengers in the modern game hence if Carvs cannot be efficient out of possession then there shouldn't be any place for him in the Forest team that is gunning for promotion. If we are happy with a bottom half finish then maybe.

OK I get that point Gari, but how about you flip that the other way around, what is the point of a player that we carry in attacking sense too? So what attributes do we want from a No10 or ACM? Someone who harries the opposition and presses for 90 mins or someone who can play a killer pass. We lack goals, our creation of scoring chances was woeful last season too. I suggest its the second aspect we need more, but maybe neither Krov or Carv are actually the answer we need, problem is in the Championship we dont have too many Firminos, there probably needs to be some sort of compromise.

Sorry but that's rubbish, you're basically saying all the best defensive midfielders aren't worth anything because they can't shoot. Kante is pretty averaging at attacking, you saying he's a one trick pony?

Totally agree, not easy finding the perfect #10 in the Championship but if asked I would have to reply: Both please :D

It was the biggest game of Almeira's season a few days ago and he didn't even get on the pitch and they made 4 subs if I remember well.

I would love to know the value of the option Almeria have tbh, not sure it’ll matter now though as I’d be surprised to see them take it up after failing to be promoted.

The values in the options to buy are mostly useless anyway, aren't they? Don't the buying clubs always go back and try to renegotiate?
It's probably what's going on at the moment with us and Fulham re Christie.

Just checked and he started the last match against Girona but was subbed at half time, yes it’s swings and round abouts (as they lost 3-0) but quit with the negative narrative. The match before he was subbed on at 76 minutes and the match before that he was subbed off after 72 minutes.

Haven't they played the second leg since then though. I also read somewhere what SL wrote above.
