Regardless of the result the Canaries will sit at the top of the tree at the end of match day number 37 for both these clubs. Will the Canaries get another win, or will Forrest arrest their recent poor form, their manager Chris Hughton would surly like to get one over Norwich who he managed for a couple of years from 2012-2014.

Form:
Nottingham Forest: DLLDW
Norwich City: WWWWW

These two clubs first played each other in 1915 in an FA cup game with Norwich 1-4 away winners. Forest and the Canaries have both won 28 games and draws 18. Hopefully the balance will be tipped towards the team in yellow at the end of the day.

As well as their manager Forest have Lewis Grabban who used to play for Norwich. As for Norwich, both Sam Byram and Kieran Dowell have played for Forest on loan earlier in their careers.

Here are a couple of videos from that crazy 3-3 draw from December 2018. Looking at the amount of good chances it could have been 5-5 or 7-5 to Norwich without that being an unfair result, both keepers made some cracking saves.

Regardless of the result the Canaries will sit at the top of the tree at the end of match day number

Yet another game where we'll probably have to be very patient against a team who put ten men behind the ball.

Hopefully we're all getting used to being patient by now

That's why I stopped being a Doctor. I never had any patience.

Eleven men behind the ball Lisbon. Hughton is their manager.

His pre (and hopefully post) match press conference might be the first time we've heard him say something positive about NCFC as a team...

Most of us would surely take "a very good side" as pretty positive -- especially coming after Emi's deflected (and Forest deflating) late winner in a match in which Forest created the three best chances of the game?

I think he might have done that when we played Brighton in the PL under Alex Neil.

I have updated the opening post and invited Forest fans to join the thread

If we beat Forest, we could be equal top!

Yeah, although it depends on how the other teams do of course. It's quite fun to change between the different leagues and number of matches.

For instance, the only team, WORLDWIDE for all first to third tiers in leagues to have accumulated more points than us this season is Rangers and only Rangers and Red Star Belgrade have won more matches (though admittedly we have played the most matches - plenty have higher points per game than us - but that shows how intense the Championship is).

That might seem like a weak thing of passing interest, but let's face it I think most people look at the Scottish league and think it's very weak for competition, it's always Rangers or Celtic, so no surprises there. Similarly the Serbian league is pretty wrapped up, with only the two Belgrade teams giving meaningful competition. The same cannot be said about the Championship and so that shows we have been extraordinarily dominant across an entire season, as well as being in red hot form right now.

I read that arter and lolley out tokorrow. But moneybrabban is back. Murray will prob score a header if were not on him tomo

The team pretty much picks itself just now, though saw some were impressed with Hugill yesterday? Whatever Farke is doing right tow to keep the players focused seems to be working, and whatever he said at half time certainly did. I have got to the stage now where I didn't even look at anyone else's results, I'm really not bothered, it is 100% in our own hands, and I reckon we are maybe 3 wins away from calling ourselves promoted.

Brentford Fans Pre Match Comments and Prediction.......

oh lordy,,,,this aint gonna be pretty
im going 1-0 bees (toney)
but it could go the other way
do the football gods like us ? lets fkin hope so

Don't normally do predictions, but this will be a very comfortable win for us......
4-1 Bees....
Sets us up nicely going into the Int Break....

We're going to batter them. 4-0.

Please take the handbrake off Thomas. Tell your midfield and wingers to grow some nuts, up their quality, get on the ball and make it happen.
Go out and smash them.

3-0 Bees.

Honestly depends on whether we decide to play football or not. We play like last season we win 4-0, we play like this season at times, maybe 1-0 with a threat of 1-1. We have the players to play football still, let's start doing it again!

Will be tight - 1-0 or 2-1 us

Going for a 1-1 draw as we seem to be running out of air.

4-0. Mbeumo Canos Toney

Depends which team turns up. If the first half of last night, then 2/3-0 Bees. If the second half then probably a defeat. Hoping for the first half team.

1-1.. Forest recently have been pretty hard to break down and they will more than likely score once.

Forest have only scored 4 in their last 9 games and only once in their last 4.
Cut out the second half crap from Tuesday and it’s a home banker.

Derby had scored 0 in their last 4 games before ours..

Play like we did in the second half against Derby and we will lose. I'll go for 1-1.

Well I really expect some repercussions from last nights second half issues, so I'm going with the batter them posters. 4-0 . Back on course.

I know I shouldn’t compare but I hope the Bees team were watching Chelsea’s performance against AM last night. After going ahead they kept pressing the opposition - no negative passing at the back. AM couldn’t get back into the game and the result was never in doubt. Hope TF changes tactics once we go ahead against Forest.

I wouldn't say we stopped pressing after going ahead, after all we did get a second goal, and could have had 2 or 3 more in the first half..........
I don't think we deliberately sat back in the 2nd half either, we just didn't play well/react to how Derby played......

I'd settle for a clean sheet first then any sort of goal will do. 1-0 from a Marcondes free kick perhaps?

Forest one day less to rest after chasing Canaries last night. Bees have extra rest day plus second half at Pride Park. 2-0 win please for the mighty bees and goals 28 and 29 for IT.

Don't care about the score, or the performance just needs to be a BEES win. Regroup and come back stronger for the final push.

I thought Forrrrest looked more dangerous than WRDC

6 nil win for the Bees and all the other teams in the top 6 lose

The BIggest problem in my observation is that the team just hoofs up the ball in order to get rid of the pressure from the opposite team and give them a 10-second breather while the other team collects the ball, gets it back in Brentford's half, maintains possession, and create more and more chances.

The team has to play a possession kind of football after the opposition attack. let them run after the ball, and tire them. they need to position themselves in order to be able to maintain possession after regaining control of the ball. I hope I'm wrong but if this continues it's going to be down to play-offs.

They aren’t very good, my brother is a tricky tree and he reckons we’ll thrash them...I’m going to say 2-0 to the good guys

Derby weren't very good either...

After Derby, this becomes an important psychological boost as well as the points available. Head says they might frustrate us to a scrappy draw, but heart says Bees back in business. So I’m going 2-0 Bees (Ivan plus anybody).

I think this will be a pretty comfortable win. 3-0.

We start fast away from home and do the polar opposite at LR, so it's imperative that they iron this one out as Forest on their day have better players offensively than the myriad sides we've silted early goals to recently.

I also think if we concede first Hughton will have far more nous than MON, Warnock, etc in setting traps and frustrating us.

I don't think TF will mix it up with the selection so we have to pray the idiosyncrasies that we're currently displaying in-game will take a back seat.

Slightly concerned what Ameobi could do to us on our left and how we'll react to them loading up and pressing us in midfield.

Bees 2 Forest 1

I know people will call me names but I have a horrid feeling it's going to be 0-1 Forest. They score early and park the bus. God I hope I'm wrong!!!!

1-1 draw for me unfortunately.

Forest are 17th in the Championship table at the time of speaking, nine points above the relegation zone. How would you summarise their progress in the first months of 2021?

Frustrating. Back in the summer, if you’d said they’d be in this position, nobody would have expected it and I don’t think many would believe it could happen as they brought so many players in in the summer and the ambition was to build on last season and challenge for the top six again. That hasn’t happened - it has been up and down and they’ve struggled for consistency. They have got better and made progress under Chris Hughton after a poor start but they aren’t where they want to be and there’s still a long way to go. They aren’t quite safe yet, so they can’t quite stop looking over their shoulders, but they are near enough there. It has just been disappointing because nobody wants to be fighting at the wrong end of the table.

Lewis Grabban has missed large parts of the season through injury. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, of course, but do you think the season might have looked somewhat different had he been fighting fit?

It’s difficult to say because he has been struggling in front of goal as much as anybody has. Even when he has played, he hasn’t looked anything like last season when he looked sharp and was scoring on a consistent basis. For him, it has also been frustrating because he hasn’t had that consistent run of games, which probably hasn’t helped him but Forest in general have struggled for goals throughout the whole team. They tried to correct that in January by bringing in Glenn Murray and adding creativity with the loan signings of James Garner and Filip Krovinovic, but it is still a big issue. Grabban did make his comeback last week and having him back is a boost, but he’s probably not going to be able to score as many goals in the last few games as he would like. Forest do create chances, just perhaps not of the quality they need to and that’s a big area they need to improve on.

In the 18 games up to and including last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Reading, they conceded just 11 goals, which has been crucial to moving away from the relegation zone. What’s their improvement at the back down to?

When Hughton came in, he did prioritise trying to make them defensively solid and he is, by nature, quite a cautious manager who does place a lot of emphasis on defence. They were making individual errors and conceding sloppy goals and you aren’t going to win games if you are doing that. He worked on that and they have looked difficult to break down and don’t concede anywhere near as often as they did because they don’t give away many chances whatsoever. What helped massively was having Joe Worrall back, though he’s injured again now, unfortunately. He has probably been their most consistent player this season and has barely put a foot wrong, while he’s also a leader who is very vocal on the pitch. It’s a big blow that he’s injured but they have got Scott McKenna back and in the games he has played, he’s looked pretty good. Everybody had been waiting to see the Worrall-McKenna partnership and there hasn’t been much of a chance to see that yet. In general, they do look pretty tight and the midfielders in front of the backline play an important part too.

Which player should Brentford fans be keeping an eye on this weekend?

As I mentioned, James Garner (above) arrived on loan from Manchester United in January and has looked very good since. He’s just turned 20 so is still learning and developing but looks as though he has a lot of quality. He plays in one of the two defensive midfield roles and can pick a pass, get Forest moving forward and really get them going. It looks as though he’s got a very bright future ahead of him. Also, if Forest are going to create anything, it generally comes from Anthony Knockaert. He’s usually quite a dangerous player and is starting to find his feet after a quiet start. He’s come into his own and is starting to show the quality we all thought he had.

How is Chris Hughton likely to set up at the Brentford Community Stadium?

More often than not, he has favoured a 4-2-3-1 and he doesn’t change that very often. He doesn’t tend to change his team too much, either. I would think it would be similar to the team that played Norwich in midweek as he doesn’t tend to give too much away beforehand.

The two teams have four wins each in the last eight meetings, the last of which came in mid-December, when Brentford were 3-1 winners at the City Ground. What’s your score prediction for this one?

I’d like to think Forest will be give a better account of themselves and it will be a closer game as they were on a really bad run at that point and things have improved since. The big thing at the moment is that they’ve beaten teams and taken points from the teams around them, it’s just against the top six teams where they haven’t managed to get as many positive results. I’ll be optimistic and go for a 1-1 draw.

Enjoyed reading that.  Incisive.  Balanced.

Sums up our season nicely.  And Forest's (inertia laden) progress under Hughton.

Up the table we go.....You Reds...

We 1 up already? It's on 10.30!

12.30 kick off everyone

This really is a must win game. Collect 3 points and have a good international break. U bees

Unchanged starting lineup, so what have we learned from Tuesday?

Guess we’ll know the answer to that in 3 hours time.....

bryan mbeumo is a shadow of the player he was last season but is still getting the assists in and has a worldy in him so fine by me

Don't see why not. Hopefully this time we play for the full 90 mins. First 45 that starting 11 were playing OK

No Knockheart!

I would be worried if he comes on and would have preferred a left sided central defender on hand to cover for MBS. Surprised AK doesn't start.

Today is going to be a good day. The last time I feel we really f***ed up from a winning position was Blackburn at home. We went on a run after that and I think we will now.

Watford will drop points at a new manager effect Birmingham.

The Swan Dive will continue with a lose at Cardiff in a feisty game with maybe some red cards thrown in.

Get your sentiment, but the game is at Swansea.....

We need to find greater cohesiveness and fluency than we have had since our unbeaten run came to an end so minimising the number of changes in the starting line-up is sensible.

Pity Grabban has replaced Murray. Murray looked well past his sell by date when I saw them play recently.

Forest fans on twitter are saying Bong at LB is the weakest link so an opportunity for Bryan.

Florist fan said:

I predict a victorious 1-1 draw to the famous team with a sneaky penalty being scored by Own Goal then some sh*thousing of the finest quality in the final 60 minutes...

I just hope we win any way we can today otherwise this forum is going to be unbearable for 2 weeks

I think Hughton's primary tactics are not to concede.

Confident about this one.

God that's a horrific away kit...

Are they desperate to be shooting from that far out already?

Makes a change from time wasting from the first minute I suppose.

Our customary slow start at home.

Love the commentator saying under Brian Clough Forest would not have had that away kit

Toney takes quick free kick but under hits it, can hardly blame the ref there. Can understand why ref doesn't bring it back but for the sake of game management, bring it back and allow the retake.
All he has done is allow every player to be able to pick up the ball and complain and delay the free kick and even stand in the way

Bees penalty.

GOAL! Brentford 1-0 Forest!

Toney scored his 28th of the season.

Watched samba go to his right then stroked it into the left.

I'm still so nervous when he takes the penalties.

Another "generous" penalty decision. Never thought he would miss it though. COYR!

It was a soft penalty but you can see why it was given, I think all 3 of our pens recently have been soft but i'll take them all.

Great from the ref. Doesn’t give many pens but what a decision

Great penalty again. Now let’s get stuck into this Forest team and get the hand break off. More goals please

Why does anyone think it was a soft pen?
Both hands round Ivan and then hauled him to the ground.

We’re really getting the skill of getting penalties.
I’m sure that watching Swansea replays is now part of training!!!
So cool again by Toney!
Now press for the 2nd and 3rd goals by half time.

Triggered Swansea fans already on Twitter saying he dived.

Close from Bryan. Just wide firing across the goal.

Toney fires six yards wide from 25

love this ref !

The lad whacked his trailing leg into Jensen.
Correct decision from the ref.

Forest player booked for diving.
I was a bit worried when the ref blew his whistle.

haha home ref this one

They further triggered by the dive and caution for them.

We need to close down the ball carrier quicker

Mbeumo fouled, ref plays the advantage, when there wasn't one, Brian kicks out at Forest player.

Janelt hits the bar and then Henrik misses the open goal from 2 yards. To be fair he didn’t have much time to react

Not much Henrik could do there. Swing a leg at it and hope for the best.

bad miss by Dalsgaard

Dalsgaard booked.

Can we sign the left side player Mighten looks very useful

Jensen is having an exceptional half...

He was definitely fouled but as penalties go it was on the softer side. How would you have felt if it was at the other end?

I would have been v annoyed at whomever pulled him over.

Think it "feels" soft because they are hardly ever given, it's a clear foul and should be given all the time though.

Sky just shown the stat that Chris Hughton hasn't lost in three games as a manager against Brentford.

With these players and this club?

He’s never lost at Brentford with these players and this club.

Half the Forest team stopping us from taking a quick free kick.

They aren't much cop but unless we get another goal at least they'll score with their only shot on target in the 87th minute

Haven’t played badly. Allowing Forest to get a lot of the ball without being too threatening.

Toney getting well involved today, good to see.

Need that third goal so I can relax

Decent half but we are inviting a little bit too much pressure and I expect them to press our back four more in the second half. TF may need to make early subs.

Wasn't expecting us to be suddenly brilliant today though and the main thing is to get the points any way we can and use the international break to regroup, catch our breath, and hopefully refind our best selves for the run in.

We need to close down the ball carrier quicker

Agree we are giving them to much time with the ball need to get to them a lot quicker

We look capable of scoring whenever we go forward but we are sitting deep and conceding possession again. Is this a tactic or are we struggling to get hold of the ball. If it is a tactic it is not one I enjoy, it’s not good for your anxiety.

One goal is not enough, but then two up was not enough either Tuesday.

reasonable first half, have played some really nice stuff at times but final ball been lacking. Jensen, Canos and Mbeumo really at it and playing well. We still look a little porous in midfield which is a worry. Norgaard looking sharper again though. Slightly worried by Dalsgaard and Janelt yellows as both have a tendency to dive in from time to time. Need to come out firing second half and kill this off..

Glass half full - we’re 1-0 up

Glass half empty - we’re not firing on all cylinders. Missing Da Silva and Rico. Can’t be helped though

Forest will probably come and press harder second half. We need to be ready to deal with that.

So how should we react?

We all know it's coming. But do the players?! Hope we 'learnt from that' on Tuesday!

If Hughton has any clue he will make 3 subs at HT, just to make us sh*t a brick

Need at least one more goal
I would take Janet off , to me he’s a bit of the pace and he’s got a booking. EmilIano to replace him

I like the look of that young Mighten, looks promising.

Brentford Fans comments 2nd half.....

We're a bit deep

And jogging, not snapping at them enough

I like Garner for them.

Called that Canos foul before it happened.

GOALS! GOALS! we want more goals.

Do we look like we're gonna?

Canos shooting is really poor today

Sexy football there. Great defending to save the goal

We are still making all the best chances.

I was shouting at Bryan then, turns out it was an excellent piece of defending.

Great moves here, just need Canos to not be so greedy...

Hope these missed chances don’t come back to bite us. Need another goal very soon !!

I am hating this slow clock

Uncomfortable this

Fukk

It was coming.

1-1. Awful from Reid.

Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeeeeee Make a sub to add some energy.

How was that not a foul on Jensen on the halfway line?

FFS. That’s what I was concerned about

They've been dominating possession.

Park the goal. How was it not a foul on Jensen?

Blatant foul on Jensen.

It's been coming not that different from Tuesday's second half, but it was a foul on Jensen before the build up

I get you are annoyed but your are talking b***ocks

Piss poor defending.

Not sure. Good atrtacking play. Can't blame Reid. That was deffo foul on Jensen. Where is VAR

Shocker from the Ref

NF are so sh*t, we really have been at half mast again.

Missed some good chances.

Always felt they were going to get one chance.

And yes it was deffo foul on Jenson.

Play to the whistle.....we have defended well up until then....sh*t defending for the goal

Nothing learned from Tuesday, nowhere near enough pressure on the ball with this lineup

Presumably that's why the ref has been downgraded from the PL...needed a second goal....no surprise they scored just glad it was not on 83

Why are we not making any subs?

and why am I repeating that sentence every match game

Terrible defending but you’ll never see a more blatant foul than the one on Jensen and right in front of the ref!!

Canos running on the spot & doing soft shots directly at the keeper isn’t helping matters.

I have been begging for the clock to speed up but now we want it to slow down,

Really been a miserable few weeks. Need to bloody wake up,

Three positive subs would help but we would rather just spend 15 mins going nowhere,

NF 5th goal in 10 games.

That sort of goal is always a likelihood, if we'd had made better of our chances in the game it wouldn't matter so much as it'd be 3 or 4-1.

We are doing our best not to get promoted

Where are our subs

Thrown it away again, would not be at all surprised now if we lose. Just hope I am wrong and we get ourselves going again.

Just do not feel we will keep clean sheets in games so sadly not a surprise. Even teams who cannot score are scoring against us.

Definitely a foul.

But defending that box was poor.

Derby hadn’t scored for over 4 games. They score 2.

Forest only scored 5 in 10 games. Once again they score.

We needed clean sheets. We just cannot do it when it’s needed.

Our passing is awful we either try the impossible or we can't make a sole 10 yard pass

Janelt off Ghoddos on

We do seem very complacent at the moment.

20 mins to save season guys

We are giving away far too many free kicks, again.

Can blame poor decisions all we like but we haven't been great in the 2nd half (again)

We were unlucky not to be 2-3 up, hit the bar, post, and had Mbuemo’s shot cleared when goal bound. And unlucky not to have a foul called.

But, there’s not been the intensity this half, again, that’s on us, and need to figure that out moving forward as this could be 4 big points dropped in two games that should have been wins.

Great chance for Ghoddos and more good defending there

Samba time wasting.
Imagine my surprise.

if we cant beat stragglers like forest and derby then we may not even make the playoffs let alone come in the top 2

We are not working the keeper enough

Sorry to say this we are crap

Keeper wasting time now.

Of course. And so would we be if we were still 1-0 up. No one to blame excep

We are still looking dangerous. There is time enough left.

we can still win this! Fosu coming on

It was the faint touch from Grabban that de-railed Winston's clearance. Just bad fortune it landed right at the feet of their man. Not for the first time this season.

They are holding out for this point, we'll need something special now. Fosu looks like hes coming on.

It’s painful viewing

Usual Forest, sharing out the yellow cards.

It's all very flat. No urgency or flowing football. Has been for a while

Ghoddos fires wide from 20. Just wide.
Running out of time. I feel this will be it if we can’t get 3pts here. But I know Banana is itching to tel me otherwise

Glenn Murray about to come on and score the winner for Forest. Apologies for scepticism.

Raya got away with that

How close was that to hand ball by Raya?

That was so far outside the box! Got away with one there.

Wow we look out of ideas already...

Raya lucky not to be sent off and Forest fire just wide from 35 yards

Murray winner anyone

I think we need to pass it back to Raya and then take 12 passes across the back to move forward 10 yards.

do these players not look at the clock

Murray to dive for a penalty.

We are making this average Forest Team look good.
the Confidence from earlier in the season is just not there. Big final effort lads !!

Another dog sh*t 2nd half. Watford’s auto spot to lose.

The very Steve Bruce tactic of just throw the attackers on and hope something happens....

Agree with this. Without Tony I think we are 9th or 10th. Some players have gone backwards this season (Raya, Jenson, Mbeueno), we’ve lost that quick transition play and look predictable. Our substitutions are so obvious as well.

Fosu!!!!! Should have buried that.

Sums up the game. Miss hit shot by Fosu

What the heck is being said at Half Time? There is no urgency at all. Its a though we are settling for a point

4 mins added time.

The way we are going we will be lucky to make the Play offs

just put up this looks like Forrest first point away this season that sums up us crap

ive not been knocking Thomas but he’s got a lot to answer for

These players are really struggling to step up when it's really needed. Like last season.

I tip Forrest to go up next season

NF well worth a point today, their forst point against a top 8 side tells you all you need to know,

What. Only because of 3 last ditch blocks.

Wow! Almost from Ivan

Another two points dropped.

Done enough to win here - got to get back to holding onto wins though, we’ve given far too many points away from winning positions.

We are total crap, ran out of steam

Brentford Fans the aftermath.....

Full time. I’m afraid that is a disastrous result. No other way to put it.

Need to pick up form for the play offs now.

Simply not good enough I’m afraid

Have we been taking tips from Martin Allen 2004-2006?
Score one then be frightened for the rest of the game, then let 1 in or lose.

Another 2 points pissed up the wall. Top 2 my ar*e

These match threads are really, really depressing.
And it isn’t due to the game.

You don’t win games if you don’t take your chances.
Sad to say Forest were the better side.

The way this season is going make the most of Toney he’s not going to be here next season

Thats the autos gone bar a number of snookers. At least we'll get some tv money from the playoffs towards next seasons promotion challenge.

Absolutely f***ing pathetic. Forest haven't even scored away against a top 8 side. The substitutions were a disgrace. Serious questions to be asked.

Four points behind second with the same games played.
We are making it harder for ourselves.

Poor. No cutting edge. 2 week break, but we’re missing JDS and a decent winger.

Play like this in the play offs and we may as well not bother turning up

I’m sorry .. anyone who says Forest were the better team needs to go to Specsavers

Though we could have scored at least 2 after they equalised? Overall though, we don’t look like a “Promotion” team.

I tip Forrest to go up next season

Yeah they'll be too good for league 1 next season.

1 defeat in 6

There are no American tanks in Baghdad.
Our glorious republican guard has smashed Forest at Saddam International Airport.

Sorry but manager inept, never tries different formation, subs same old same old, this is two seasons now he has cost us promotion, cant see us having two good squads again for a long while seen as though we shop in Europe mainly.
I am also fed up with the same excuses after each game, time he manned up and took responsibility for this shambles

I don't usually critisise refs, but really angry at the guy today (who was it said he was a homer?). Ignored a really blatant foul that led their goal - and that threw us and we never got things together again after that .

I know I'm angry and frustrated about the result, but would those who spell Forest as Forrest, please take some spelling lessons.

Hard to believe a month a go we were 1st and looked like we were destined to go up automatically, now we look like we'lll cling onto the playoffs!

Jensen was fouled - could he have stayed up? Probably not.

Cross came in. Forest player flicked it on and Reid didn’t get his feet moving enough to clear it properly.

Crap goal to concede all round.

I thought our performance overall was much brighter and we were unlucky not to be two up from Mbeumo’s well blocked effort. Another positive is that we’ve just taken a point off the Champions of Europe!

I must have been watching a different game they were Champions of Europe many years ago , don’t be like there fans who, gloat over that fact

We should have won by 4 goals. Forest's goal came from a clear refereeing error (the referee I should add was excellent apart from that). Bryan was very good. And Jensen. Not Vitaly's day though. Dalsgaard had a more difficult day than MBS. I absolutely hate the Forss substitution we do, it adds nothing. Finally, we can whine about the manager as much as we like but unfortunately, nothing a manager will do will detract from our players in some positions being mid Championship at best. I won't name them.

Probably the most frustrating thing is that apart from Norwich there really is nothing to beat in this league. Recently Bkackburn, Derby and Forest today were very ordinary and we should really have been burying these sides as I think we have the better footballers. Could have been so different today had two of the many chances we created had gone in.

1-1 at home to Forest is not a positive in my book.

Delusions of grandeur.

Take away Ivan the Engine (see what I did there?) and what are they?  8th?  10th?

Seems like they have a fragile confidence.  Odds on to bottle it in the play offs.

i enjoyed those comments, some really good ones, better than last seasons from vague recollections, in fact, purely based on Brentford fans comments, season on season, we have seemingly made huge strides forward

Cardiff Fans Match Comments........

McCarthy to secure another three valuable points, 3nil City

Home win Cardiff 2-0

I'm going for scabby Nottingham having a good beating 4-0.

If we're serious about the play-offs, this is a must-win game. I'm going to 2-0 to City.
Would have said 3, but Forest can be tricky sometimes...

Of all the remaining games I'm confident of us smashing the everloving S**t out of these the most.

Yes, another big game after the break. Forest have improved in recent months and are all but safe. We should win.
3-0

I can't stand Lewis Grabban but I can't remember why.

If forest show their true potential today, this could be a massive banana skin for city. Rumours are that vassell is ready to make an appearance. Looks like he could be kept for pre seasons rather than risk him. But if he was available today, would you be happy to see him play up top and drop straight into this squad??

Very poor so far, very much second best so far

We appear to have another pint sized jerk of a ref. Would accept that was a foul by Brown but hardly a booking.

Forest score.

Deserve to be one down too. Forest have been good. Weve not got anything going in midfield.

Not unexpected-sterile central midfield, no proper wing backs and Wilson as usual isn’t getting the ball. Moore looks off his game.

Wholesale changes needed for 2nd half.

I bit better 2nd half but still a bit stagnant

Make some changes Mick ffs

How has it taken 70 minutes to make a sub?

Even worse, when they do decide they have to consult ‘the book’ for 5 minutes. They’d be better off just using flash cards - one with a picture of a ball, one of an arrow and another of the goal (assuming they understand which way the arrow is supposed to be pointing!)

Bournemouth are winning, so we really need to turn this around in the second half.

FT 0-1

Abject performance.
Summed up by Forest scoring from their only shot and Flint missing a sitter.
If Norwich were watching then they wouldn’t offer £7 for Vaulks.

We just keep giving the ball away. Forest haven’t won in 6 games but are so comfortable in this game

For all the suggested "heroics" of the recent past, Moore was appalling today and it took Mick over 80 minutes to do something about it. The continual reliance on the over the top stuff is mind numbing.

We need players on the pitch who can do the business on the floor and play through the opposition instead of just relying on Moore to control the ball and lay it off. The triple switch with about 20 minutes to go looked reasonable though I thought Wilson was doing OK, but then giving Harris and Colwill less than 10 minutes to pull the game out of the fire was ludicrous.

Manager got it wrong from the start. How can you get in behind without any wingers?

Changes left too late after the original set-up was going nowhere for 70 minutes!

Moore should have been hooked much earlier and some pace injected up front instead. Watters might just as well go back to Crawley because it looks like he wont get any pitch time from Mick.

Very disappointing performance, its not as if Forest were even remotely dangerous.
Gave the ball away far too often .
Running out of games .

Forest were awful and we should have been able to get 3 points from that game today. After half time I thought we were very poor seeing as we were a goal down.

Subs awful again, Running theme with Mccarthy that doesn't bode well for next season

Forest showed us how to defend the goal we conceded by having men to cover the cut-back late in the 2nd half which we had lacked on 29 minutes. It's hard work being a two in this formation but if you're not keeping the ball moving at a good pace and not covering cut-backs in front of the back three I'm not sure what you are doing. Or was it the case that we had 3 CB's covering one striker and none willing to mark the space surrounding him?

Going forward we clearly missed Morrison both in that he's trusted to step out from defence and his added threat in opposition box. Brown and Nelson are both defenders only and I'm really not sure we need both in the starting XI - Nelson currently the better defender but Brown is younger and left-footed which is a valuable asset. Ralls, Sang and Wilson all played well but asked to do too much because something was missing around them.

Bacuna poor but then so were Ojo (didn't really do anything) and Murphy (some nice deliveries but not enough) from the bench. I'd rather have Williams and Colwill off the bench from what we saw today.

MM:

Pros: did recognise need to tweak formation to add another man in midfield and again gave youth a chance.

Cons: was really late to use the bench. We looked so much better in those last 7 minutes than we had for the 25-30 minutes before that. Barnsley are in the play-offs because of the way they use the bench to win games and we're falling off the pace since MM came in because of how we make use of it.

Bit harsh on Murphy who set up a great chance for Flint. After the first set of subs we seemed to lose impetus, probably with the new formation and subs getting into the game. I think many have had us down as a top 10 team only and today's result is the kind of thing that happens to those. Would like to see our midfield rejigged but not sure it'll happen when we're still mathematically in touch.

Not what I expected today. Very disappointing. It’s time Jonny Williams started.

Forest are an average side, but it's not terribly difficult to stop City scoring once you've eliminated the aerial threat. I agree re. Williams, a league 1 player who has better control of the ball when running than any other City player - including Wilson.

Poor game. Forest organised and worked hard, but a lack of quality from City. A few of the more experienced players had off days too. Big ask now to finish top 6. 3 points dropped today

Don’t know what’s wrong with me at the moment. Given that it’s a Friday I was looking forward to settling down in front of the TV with a beer or two tonight to watch us spank Forest 3 or 4-0.

Just got back from cycling with the family down west full of excitement for the game only to scroll through Twitter and see that we’ve already lost 1-0 and there’s been a full set of fixtures
