Surprising line up - to me at least.

Garner has been so impressive.

Have to assume he’s being rested - and will start on Friday.

I’m sorry he’s no where near our best midfielder.....People are blinded by the fact he came through our academy.

Garner could well be pushing for a Man Utd first team spot next season.....Could you honestly say the same about Yates???

I’d go far enough to say if we want to challenge for promotion next season then we need to be leaving players like Yates behind!

And who is anywhere near out best midfielder?  The missing in action Arter?  'Fred' (also missing in action.). What about...Colback?  (Again.  Missing through injury for the most part and under performed initially due to not playing for a year in the 1st team.).

Did you miss that belter Yates put away before his injury?  (Has Garner scored yet, by the way?)

I honestly can.  As far as Forest are concerned.  Yates will take no lesson in attitude or will to win from Garner.

As for technique?  Passing is one of Yate's weaker areas and he's been candid in interview about that.

Garner and Cafu.  Only relatively recently installed.  And they've done well.  And their ball play is more progressive.  WITH.  The caveat that they have a no.10 ahead of them that is actually a no.10.  The other night, Cafu was replaced by Yates.  You'd have to ask Hughton as to why.

Utd are top two of the Premier League with presumably, a Cat 1 Academy and off the back end of hundreds of millions of investment (and the rest) over the time Forest have been out the Premier. The comparison is moot.  Let's not let the fact that some don't rate him blind us to the following...

Yates has carried the DCM flag under several managers.  And Hughton has favoured him.  Yates has been the one constant this season.  His enthusiasm, honesty, leadership and will to win are 1st rate.  Better that than a technical player who bottles challenges and hasn't got the character to make use of their talent.

Sow has (!) been our 'best' DCM.  The current run coincided with his re-emergence.  Yates formed a formidable twin pivot with Sow during this run.

Yates won't be pushing for a Utd spot next season.  But Yates will be pushing for a Forest starting spot.  He's an excellent example of the Forest Academy.

Yates replaces Garner tonight. ;)

Perhaps Hughton feels there is a better player waiting to emerge in Freeman one he gets fit. And the only way to get match fit is to play games?

Additionally, Lolley isn't 100%.  He has to manage this 'condition' he has.  So playing 3 games a week won't help it.  Lolley in that regard?  Has much in common with Grabban.

We'll have to let go of the notion that Grabban and Lolley are able to play 3 games a week.  Their body won't let them. I wouldn't be surprised to see both moved on in the Summer.

In which case we should be looking to sell them on in the summer, if they aren't capable of enduring the relentless championship on a regular basis

Oh sorry I forgot you judge a defensive midfielder on how many goals they’ve scored.

We’ve actually stepped it up a fear since Garner signed, but your probably too blind to see that thinking about your hero Lionel Cristiano Yates.

Anyway don’t tug to hard will you whilst you’re thinking about your hero Yates....The greatest footballer to ever come out the Nottingham Forest academy!!

Looks to me like both Freeman & Lolley are running into something like their true form.

Add the fact that Colback & Yates are now both fit.

Add Sow & McKenna - neither of which are far away.

Krovinovic & Garner have both settled in well.

We could benefit over the remaining weeks from the strength of our squad.

This is the second of three games in six days. There is bound to be some tinkering. I like the way that we can make 3 or 4 changes without really weakening the team.
