You can kiss any chance of top 6 good bye if we don't win 4 of the next 5 games. That's my view on it, gap is opening up and draws are not going to help. Unless we click before game 12 in the league it could actually turn out to be a fight to stay up if history of the championship is anything to go by. If your top after 10 games you tend to go out if you 17th or below you pretty much fight it out all season. Sunderland are the only team to go from below 17th to be promoted after 15 games as far as i can see, but could be wrong.

Fulham was 17th after 17 games last season with 20 points (4 wins, 8 draws and 5 lost).

And they ended up in 3rd spot 13 points above Derby in 6th. I guess anything is possible (almost).

At some stage we all have to deal with facts

Just for the record, not only have we spent that amount, but we're also the 2nd highest spenders in this division, this year, top 6 in the last 2 years, top 6 in the last 3 years, top 6 by market value & top 6 by purchase value.

Under every single financial metric we are a top 6 club, in this division & if promotion was decided on spending alone we'd be guaranteed play offs this season.

The only teams in this division who have now out spent us have had access to premiership money & quite obviously we won't ever be able to match such figures without access to premiership money ourselves.

Just to be clear I’m not disagreeing that we’ve not spent £30m plus. However on the other hand transfer fees are spread across the life of a contract in accounts so not as big a deal.

Also, accounts for this season aren’t released until December next year so you can’t say how much we’ve spent as fact given the official numbers haven’t been released and won’t be for a while.

Yes, there's no concern over ffp or anything of that nature, although obviously what we spend today we can't spend tomorrow, & we have spent big & the owners haven't spent big just to potter around in midtable.

Yeah that’s more the issue we can’t go spend £30m again next summer really. Need this year’s signings to make progress, some goals for Carvalho/Grabban would certainly help that.

It's rare as hens teeth, but it can happen, but even in Fulham's example the fight back began game 16, I think & they produced a once a generation run of form after that, so it really does demonstrate, with regards to promotion, how early a season can be over.

You can't win the league by the end of November, but you can pretty much write off all chances of promotion by then.

Fight back began in game 18.

Under every single financial metric

Are you being purposefully difficult?

You made reference to the £30m spend within the accounts? I asked a simple question.

In fairness you’ve just quoted stats and not actually offered any actual facts either. Which would be difficult given accounts aren’t released for another year.

If you’re just basing it on transfer fees announced (which most aren’t) you can probably make a good guess. He’s right though there are no accounts yet

Are you?

Because so far you've not actually contributed one single fact to this thread, but you have tried with multiple attempts at bullshit.

As mentioned twice already we're talking all available financial metrics.

Obviously as you have been given multiple facts & statistics you know full well there isn't one single source, we're talking deloittes, price waterhouse, the efl, our published accounts, other clubs published accounts etc.

According to ALL those sources, as you have already been told, we have spent big, top 6 big.

Do you actually have a counterargument to that, or are YOU just being purposefully difficult?

I’ll pop you on ignore mate, I asked a simple question, life’s too short.
