Well then how am I supposed to believe it?
Sorry, but I've never seen anything officially state we got 3.5m for Soudani, other than Twitter rumours & suchlike from folk who claimed we were signing Mbaye Diagne this window
I mean, it makes no sense. We signed him for 3m Euros according to the NEP, so £2.65m
So why would a season later, after being out injured for most of it, his value INCREASE to 3.5m?
Did Darikwa go for 3m to Wigan after we paid 2m for him? No, he went for nothing. No players value increases by being out the team injured.
Someone's telling big fat porkie pies here IMO
You don't have to sell at exactly market rate, teams pay over the odds for players all the time. Particularly if the buyer also has a vested interest in the sale.
Anyway, Soudani was a great player, gutted we sold him (in case there are any FFP police reading this) :D
Sorry mate, doesn't stack up at all. I flat out don't believe a word of it.
If someone gives me a link to a reported fee then fair enough. But it stands it doesn't make any sense, and asking someone to believe in a figure pulled out of thin air, on top of the fact that figure is for 850k extra than we paid after a lengthy injury is really stretching it.
More than happy to change my mind if anyone can provide any evidence, even rumours or reports with the press. I can't find anythin though.

You're aware this is essentially an intercompany transfer right? It will always be undisclosed for precisely the reason above, it's clearly over market value and they don't want to raise loads of red flags. Seems like common sense to me.
The main reason I believe this to be the case is it just makes rational sense, if Oly don't need the money on their books and we struggle with FFP why wouldn't you do this? He's not gaining or losing money, just moving it between two companies.
Again though Soudani was a fantastic player though and I will always cherish the memories of his appearances...

Doesn't change anything Wassy. It's all pure speculation. What story you or others have created in their heads as to why it makes sense makes little difference. It's rumours & speculation. If that's something you buy into, fair enough.
But I at least want one source of info before considering buying into that.

I havent read all of the last few pages but you appear to be quibbling about whether we have made a marginal profit in transfer fees from shifting a few average players between clubs?
If so can I point out that even your most optimistic estimates of profit are dwarfed by what we are paying out in for wages for Blackett, Jenkinson, Colback, Arter, Freeman etc to sit around on their collective fat arses.

You're right but you're also speculating too. You're choosing to believe the fee isn't that high, same difference. I'm purely going for the option that I think is most likely based on the facts given and a few posts on here.
I agree though its annoying but also being done with good reason. Not sure there's a solution that would work for you here. Promotion?! :D

The debate was more on the way its reported and method rather than specific numbers.
You're right although Blackett and colback won't be on much. Arter and Jenkinson though

Cafu signs on a 2 and a half year deal giving us the max 5 loans per match day squad again and also a chance to make a profit in the summer

Fair enough if about the reporting, was just putting the numbers in context.
I would be amazed if Blackett and Colback combined is less than £30k / wk. Colback was on 40k at Newcastle, Im guessing he signed for around 20k here.
If you take the 5 amigos listed above and add in Dawson and Bong you will have weekly expenditure of around £120k or £6 million a year. That is approximately Barnsley’s annual wage bill for their entire squad. Thats team that most people seem to agree is far better than ours.

It's a good, strategic move for Hughton's incoming players.
Cafu has done ok and is adapting well to the English game. I suspect he, like others may perform even better with the new ball playing additions.
He's another player who could be flipped for a decent fee in the Summer.
Sound business sense.

Cafu has earned that contract simply because he has put a real shift in. Just not sure how he fits in best, thought he would be best at DCM and I think thats where CH sees him too, havent seen him perform well there yet though. He has done well as makeshift No10 but he isnt good enough there for a top performing team, not that we are one. However good luck to him he must want to stay if he has signed long term and thats important too.

Come on Alf it's not rocket science. EM owns both clubs he can set the fee whatever he wants. What Soudani was worth is one thing but what EM paid is another. Think about it, it's very simple mate.
