There was no way on earth that we could keep Matty Cash at the football club once a PL team came knocking and his head was turned. The lad wants to play in the PL, he wants to play at the highrest level possible, how could we have prevented that?

Plus getting 7M for Appiah is looking like great business, what has he achieved since he left?

I've nothing against sales happening if the money is properly re-invested, like Whiteman who is already getting rave reviews at PNE. 

20m on Carvalho, Da Costa, Soudani & Jenks is flushing it down the toilet.

EM & Vrentroz have decimated us mate, by selling off our quality, wasting that money on awful players.

Correct decisions are what I want chap. Whiteman would have been good, Mowatt or Browne too (no need for both). No need for loads of players, just a few quality signings that were there for the taking.

Something which we should be in a position to take after selling a 16m player only half a year ago.

Wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't spent money on crap like Da Costa in similar windows previous. We just can't seem to judge player signings right at all.

I thought he was decent, but fair enough opinions. Whiteman I really rate, and think he's everything we're desperate for in a midfielder. Here's a quick write up on his brief time there........

His quality is there for all to see - manager Alex Neil challenged him to act like he has been at this level for years and the midfielder has done just that.

His touch is sharp, his footballing intelligence is obvious and his wide range of passing has been seen already.

But it has been the other parts of his game that have been equally as captivating.

Without going off on too much of a tangent, Whiteman's personality just seems tailor-made for a North End player.

Grounded, determined, ambitious, aggressive, passionate, confident - and most importantly a leader.

His celebration following Lucas Joao's penalty miss was everything and more that supporters want to see and in every game so far, Whiteman's vocal nature on the pitch has been constant throughout.

The 24-year-old is always barking orders, offering encouragement and giving advice during matches and his awareness of what's going on around him is a huge asset.

"Yours Browney, win it Browney, go and win it skipper." was heard as a throw-in was taken midway through last weekend's game.

The worrying thing is that this was a signing Brazil was rumoured to have wanted, yet - despite the promises coming out of the club - we've not backed his judgement. Whereas we've thrown fortunes at those with awful judgement like Mendez & Modesto

I don't want perfect Sniff, I just want those running the club to stop backing the wrong horses, and start backing the right ones.

How can you blame the Clubs recruitment when a player clearly does not want to come here?

You want Mowatt who is out of contract in June; if he is as good as some would have you believe you would think there would be a queue of Clubs after his signature; where is that queue?

If his performance on Saturday is anything to go by he can stay where he is.

Because we've created a club where players don't want to come to.

I'm sure if Liverpool or Cheslea had come knocking he's have moved. I don't expect us to have that kind of pulling power, but we didn't even seem to factor in to the equation, which is worrying.

And it's not the fact that we haven't landed just Whiteman, it's the fact that we NEVER land these types of players, yet spend FORTUNES on dross like Da Costa. 

Regards Mowatt, that's just silly, a players has to have several suitors now before he's what we need to address issues in the squad? where were all the clubs queuing up for Antonio? 

My point isn't regards any of these players individually anyway, we can go round in circles all day about who's good/crap. My point is that nothing the things which need to change at the club for us to be successful, still don't seem to have.

You really need to separate out the sales with spending. We lose 30m a year before player sales, so that's a sizeable investment already. Also, that figure was BEFORE the global pandemic, it'll obviously be worse this time round. Selling players is a perfectly legitimate strategy which we've done pretty effectively to allow us to run a decent wage budget and spend some money. Just need to work on spending it better next time we spend some.

Well except you didn't seem happy we spent nothing.

Thought it was a good window personally, Krov looks good, Knockaert should be good, we'll have to wait and see on the others but filled some gaps, without committing to anymore long contracts.

I just hope everyone is geared up for the summer as we'll have to bring in a lot of players again. We need a new LB/RB/DM/CM/AM plus ideally improve on Ameobi and Grabban.

Preston have lost 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 since Whiteman came in. Could be that he has turned in fantastic performances but the results have not come as a result (his stats on whoscored are pretty average though).

Not sure where the rumors that Brazil wanted Whiteman comes from but I guess we should treat it as such - a rumor and not hard facts to be used for attacking the club's transfers. And it would be great if we could start to look forward. I believe we all agree including the club, that transfers haven't been all great. I firmly believe that that will change going forward. In CH we trust  :)
