What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy

Dawson is finished, Blackett out of favour and I have a feeling Figs will be the one to go and not Worrall. That would give is Worrall, McKenna, Duffy and Soh.

It may just be wishful thinking on my part though.

Possible Sniff and fully agree that gives us an excellent CB base. I hope I am being a doom monger unnecessarily.

It may of course be that Joe has been tapped up and has said he wants to go in which case you cannot blame the club. Or the 3rd option is to blame our favourite scapegoat Vrentzos and assume he wants to cash in on Worrall and told CH to bring in a replacement.
If it does happen and I hope it doesn’t then all are equally plausible and we probably wont know.

There's no way Hughton would choose to sell Worrall, if he does its because we need to financially.

Or Worrall has had his head turned and he wants to leave?

Or like I said he ain't leaving at all and IF we sign Duffy then perhaps Figs will be sold.

If, but, maybe, perhaps.

That may be the case, but it wouldnt mean we would need to sell Worrall. We have enough cover for the remaining part of the season.

Any money raised should go towards improving our goal threat, thats where we need additions

Let’s not beat about the bush.

Hughton would prefer not to sell Worrall.

It happens.

We probably need the cash.

But - if true - it’s a Vrentzos decision.

Worrall is going to leave at some point whether Hughton, us or Vrentroz want it or not. He's a premier league player in a middling 2nd division side. If it doesnt happen this window it will happen next.

Given his clear love for the club I reckon we can get one more season out of him (after this one).

Also, it depends on where he'd go, if the option is to be 3rd choice at Burnley (who have just completed what sounds like a pretty dodgy takeover) then he'd be better off here.

Is it worth remembering that all this started from the Scottish Sun? Probably not the most reliable of sources.

But it wouldnt need to happen if we were heading in the right direction. None of the selling of academy products would need to happen if we had a coherent plan to obtain promotion. Joe will want premier league football eventually but he would prefer to stay with us. Unfortunately I cant see it happening without changes as to how the club is run.

We should stay well clear of Duffy. Would be a ridiculous transfer. One that is not required. Learn the lessons is what we need to do.

Disagree with this actually, every club without parachute payments needs to sell it's assets to remain competitive on wages and transfer fees. Selling academy players is a pretty standard strategy, I'm not saying we've used our budget that well but I don't think you can keep your academy players and also challenge for promotion.

Also, most of our academy sales in recent times have been players that we've got good value for. Aside from Cash most have not even been regular starters.
