Why is this becoming a polarised argument? As I said above it is a reasonably balanced article. Its media so it does go on about the mistakes which are there for all of us to see however it does talk about them uncovering Camara, Cisse and Ba too. There is potential for a good partnership here of it can be made to work better.

I agree - nothing to see here.
I really don’t get why this particular article is stirring up emotions.

It's hard to say Widdow, nobody really knows, even DT doesn't know, he relies on information from third parties and chooses to believe it, some of which I have picked apart as people who read this forum will know.
Going back to Issa and Bachirou. Issa left Olympiakos under a cloud, he didn't leave on good terms. That of course doesn't mean that Forest don't want to do business with him. Every player has an agent Bachirou's agent just happens to be PlayEleven just like Samba Sow and playEleven just happens to be where Pierre Issa now is.
Some will believe that Bachirou is only here because of the link above. I prefer to believe that Bachirou was suggested to the club by Issa and that suggestion was passed onto Lamouchi and Lamouchi wanted to sign him.

I also prefer to believe and I like what SM mentioned earlier.
Brazil is scouting domestic players, Modesto is scouting in Europe and beyond and then players are passed onto Hughton who then decides if we should go ahead and try to sign the players or not.
It's not complicated, it's very simple and straight forward actually.

Sounds simple enough to me. Domestic and Foreign scouting.
I wonder if that's part of the agreement Hughton had in coming here. The final say on players..?

In his interview Chris said he did. He did get Hughton.
Lets see what else the month brings

Also agreed, it wasn't particularly critical merely an insight into the current structure and raised a few fairly straightforward questions about it. There does seem to be two camps with DT, one that hates him and will assume everything he says is done to sell subscriptions and the other that thinks he's a journalist raising issues at his club, that most fans would appreciate being in the public eye as they deserve scrutiny.
Would people prefer he said nothing and all the issues just went on in the background until we got relegated or the owners decided to sell up. Then when it came out everyone would be saying "why didn't it come out sooner".
You can tell my camp, I see no issue with constructive criticism in general which I feel like his articles have been for the most part. I would be interested to understand is motives for the timing of some of the articles in terms of how it helps the club short term but that's about it.

To be fair the article doesn't really suggest anything other than they took advantage of the relationship with Issa that had been successful to sign a player that so far hasn't worked out. No mention either way of who had final say or anything like that. I really am not sure of the issue here

Having just read the full article I'm not sure why the hullaballoo either. It's not particularly damning. The point about Modesto working across both Forest and Oly is a valid one - it would probably benefit Forest (more than Oly) if we had a dedicated international scout looking *just* for players for Forest. That's up to Marinakis though, it's his gig.

But there's also an argument that a 2nd division club who've not been in the top division for 20 odd years might actually benefit from an association with a serial champions league club? I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that there's two sides to every argument. His Oly link might actually allow him to get a foot in the door with some players. Maybe? I dunno.

Yeah I think the link should be a positive, it was more that if he found someone really good who would get first dibs. Just pointing out he has a conflict of interest, not that necessarily he'd go to Oly or Forest. If anything right now makes more sense to learn at Oly as the article points out champ is hard for someone who's not played in it before.
