Kieft over Clayton for me and probably move Friend inside and play Pedersen despite his iffy form. But great to have Friend back, first start for Halilovic and a decent team.

That forest midfield is very very physically powerful.

Desperate at the moment. Not a shot by blues.

Why have we spent the half hoofing long balls with nowone with a physical presence up front.

Don't worry, that'll stop when we bring Juke on

Shocking quality in this game,  not even blaming Krakpot for that it's on the players

Colin has hardly got forward and has stil had to have Roberts bail him out with Miten several times

Roberts has actually defended pretty well but lost count of how many balls he's lumped 60 yards forward to nobody at all

Friend,  there's a lot of love from blues fans for the guy that grew up on a farm but he plays the ball more often than not like he's still in his wellies,  it's saying something to say that Pedersen is technically better on the ball

Clayton,  the lack of industry and needless freekicks conceded is too high a prce to pay for someone occasionally playing the ball to someone on his own team

Sunjic,  forever burying the myth that all continental players are technically better, 7 million?  they saw us coming

Bela,  having one of them days,  nothing coming off but not helped by those around him

Hogan a decent finisher but if you don't give him the service you're effectively playing with ten men

Dean an awful first pass aside has again been decent and unlike others gave away a needed freekick and took one for the team

Halilovic has obvious quality,  it's a pity so many in the team are playing awful and limiting his effectiveness

Sanchez another obvious quality,  not been in the game enough but just the one passage of play where he and Hal linked up for 5 seconds we looked like Barca

Not even sure subs will make a big difference,  too many on that pitch taking the easy lump it into an area route instead of having the courage to play a pass,  though in fairness having seen Sunjic try and do just that and fail miserably maybe I'm expecting too much.

Leko for Bela and possibly GG for Clayton,  but still not sure it'll make a difference.

We really need to stop giving so many freekicks away,  forest are crap too but if you give them 50 chances to lump it into your box sooner or later you'll pay the price.

Bubba’s hits nail on the head in first sentence there.
First half some players should look at themselves there.
Basic passing is required and they can do it. It’s a good job we are playing a very poor team.

I’ll take a draw right now!!

be interesting to see if we put as many balls into the box with juke playing

Ironic ain’t it ? We always seem to play longer without the juke!!
Unless it’s just feels like that?
At least we’re working hard for the shirt and manager today imho

0-0 result poor.

a draw would have been good in the past , but they were there for the taking today

It sounds like it was another bore fest. At least Friend is back, so we kept a clean sheet. Sounds like Roberts passing was very poor even by his low standards. I would move Friend to CB for Tuesday, drop Roberts and bring Pedersen or JCS in at LB. Did Halilovic take a knock? Seems odd that he was subbed at HT, most people were saying he looked ok.

I turned the game off, so boring.

Last 10 seasons apparently only once we have managed less than 23 points by game 21. That was Steve Cotterill.

Just a highlight of where we are at right now with this 'philosophy' or 'Three year plan' or whatever else Dong plans to say next!

Sunjic seems to get worse week on week.

It will be interesting in the Linx household, with wife and daughter supporting Forest. I’d better recruit the dog to even the numbers up.

Your house must stink

Can Clucas defend? In midfield players regularly run past him and he is not super quick. Seems a big ask to play at left back. Don’t think MON fancies him out wide, didn’t play him there when MCClean was injured last season or when Bruno struggled at LB

I don't get the anti Thompson brigade, he has potential I think to develop into a very tidy player. I like the recent addition to his game, with late runs into the box. Yes he should have scored yesterday, but is increasingly starting to make those forward runs now..very useful player..

Forest 5th from bottom but have a better strike force than we do ...Lewis grabban is the sort of player we need in the championship..2 negative managers can’t see many goals in it

What I would like to know is why do clubs change their manager about 3 weeks before they are due to play us?!! (Wednesday, Derby, Middlesbrough, Forest)

Didn't Forest change theirs quite a while ago?.

Hughton was appointed at the start of October, and so far doesn't seem to have been able to transform their fortunes. Certainly well out of the 'new manager bounce' zone anyway.

Matter of time I think before Hughton really gets things clicking for them. All they need is to play a team that only turn up for half a game and are struggling to score. What could possibly go wrong?

Apparently, with less than half the season played and us sitting just below the play offs, the Forest game is a must win.
Someone has had their eggnog spiked.

Officials confirmed for Forest encounter

By Niall Cope

Dean Whitestone to referee Tuesday's gameFirst match involving either side this seasonMost recent Potters fixture was in February

Dean Whitestone will referee his first Stoke City match of the season when Michael O’Neill’s side play host to Nottingham Forest tomorrow evening.

You have to go back to February for the last time the Northamptonshire-based official oversaw a Potters fixture – a 2-0 home success over Cardiff City.

It’s even longer since Whitestone officiated a match involving Forest – a 1-1 draw away from home against Reading in January.

The experienced EFL referee has taken charge of 14 games this season, brandishing a total of 22 yellows in the process. He has however yet to show a red, and has only pointed to the penalty spot once.

His most recent outing was on Boxing Day as he presided over events at the Cardiff City Stadium, where the home side fell to a 3-2 defeat to Brentford.

Assisting Whitestone tomorrow evening will be Daniel Leach and Shaun Hudson, whilst Ben Toner will act as the fourth official.

We usually play better against the better opposition. I don't think any team will relish playing against a full strength Stoke team..

Reading about all the snow in Stoke what are the chances of the match being postponed
PS I don’t live in Stoke any more and no snow here

Stoke have undersoil heating, no fans so no concourses to clear. Forest local for travel, so I would imagine all good to go

Stoke v Reds Match comments......

Midfield 3 looks good

I long for the day we learn how to take throw ins.

Best I've seen us knocking it about for a while.
Just need a bit of cutting edge.

Long time since we conceded a league goal. Alas, this could be the day.

could have been a penalty against Collins & we are getting slaughtered here.

Get the f**k in!

Sam was like Ronaldo there!

Nice one keeper.

well that’s the funniest goal we’ve scored in ages!

Haha, finally a team shitter than us first 15...

Grabban flubbed and goalie off his ass

Grabban ducked

What’s the defender doing ha ha, what a dickhead . When you put quality balls in though that’s what can happen

Brilliant by Grabban!!

Their keepers' face paints a right picture, Butlandesque keeping.

Thommo meant that.

It was definitely going in, I think the defender put the keeper off, but still - that is some shocking keeping

What a soft goal
Like something you'd see at an under 10's game.

It was OG mate. Goalies thigh tucked it into corner thanks to Grabban being a pansy.

Any neggos like me can get 7/1 on Forest winning this

This co commentator has a weird obsession with Lewis Grabban. He hasn't talked about anything else since the start of the game

i don't trust this ref at all

They're dangerous from set plays.

We’ll be lucky to hold this lead till half the way it’s going. We can’t seem to keep any control of the ball and they are getting to the front much to easily. Fortunately they tend to have as many poor passes as we do.

Why are they playing audio of manu fans singing?

This Knokhaert puts in some cracking balls..

Strange game innit

All on Grabban imo

It’s an easy header out. Like someone has said, it was like a goal you see in kids football.

This keeper of forest looks totally clueless. We should be shooting on site at him. He looks totally lost and ready have a break down

f**k me another throw that ends up straight back with the opposition.

They really are amateur

I think that we are the better team......but arguably they've had the better chances.

Feels like a Sunday league match and Forest were up all night Satdee.

One nil is all that matters to me, no need to worry.

We need another.

He stood no chance whatsoever. Grabban should sort it and the keeper is expecting him to.

It's pretty much over the line bout time it hits the keeper.

Stating the obvious, we look more like a team since MON arrived, an organised team who know what they are doing rather than a collection of individuals hoping for the best. He seems to have a collection of individuals who he can slot in without much disruption

Offside my f*****g arse

That linesman is having a shocker that’s 3 he has got wrong

Vokes should score.

Shockingly bad officiating as well for a change.

they are awful and we are wasteful

Smith and McLean are terrible footballers

Thompson and brown are terrible footballers. Simple passes seemingly impossible.

Doesn’t look like we are going to get any decisions today

Good opening half hour. Really poor last 15.

We’re a bit poo but we’re 6th.......
Mental !

I think we have been the better side, thus far. But our passing has been off. A better side would have put us to the sword by now. And what is wrong with McLean? He won’t take his man on, he isn’t really adding much value here.

We can only improve in the second half

Cant complain at 1-0. Forest definitely there for the taking and we need to take it to them early run second half. A great opportunity for 3 points. gooaaan Stoke.

Good opening 25 minutes or so. Died down after that.

Forest will get a bollocking at HT though. Should come out with a bit of fire in them.

It's going to be more of the same second half, so we could do with a second because they could get one.

With derby, shef wed and Wycombe all winning, and QPR holding norwich, I can see forest coming out at half time and going for it

I wouldn’t say we’re totally in control... they’ve had plenty of set pieces and we look scared to death when the ball is fizzed into the box. A few errors that have fortunately not been punished, yet.

We're being overrun in midfield by a poor Forest midfield, if Mikel is fit and ready we need him on.

we're too deep this 2nd half already

Mclean is alive this half. He’s a great keeper.

Dirty bastard Knockaert.
Why do opposition players get away with that week in week out
The elbow on Powell is a red card.

They're coming at us with anger so far.

This is shit, all we're doing is lumping it down, and with our weak forwards, it's just coming straight back at us!!!

This isn’t bad, we just haven’t got anything to break down their two banks of 4, and it’s difficult to catch them on the break without more pace. Don’t know what the answer is really!

I tell you what, considering how “shite” we are, that league table makes pretty good reading right now. You moaning old scrotes.

These look like we did just over a year ago.
“Right lads, run around and kick that round thing”

Hughton will sort them out. Very good manager

Letting them back into it aren't we.

Could Vokes have engaged a slower pace in anticipation? f*****g hell.

This goalie is toss

I'm starting to debate whether or not we are that much better than 2/3rds of this league, or they i.e. the forests are really that shite and we are just really lucky? I guess that depends on if we can score from open play here and take the three points.

This is garbage, these are absolutely shite and we’re doing our best to let them back into the game.

Seriously ... Vokes seems just plain lazy ... the way he stayed away from that rebound was just criminal ... wouldn't you like some young blood to come in and put a hot shot of cobalt under the Forest's arse? I mean, come on!

Hell of a lot of mist coming out of Sam Vokes’s mouth. It’s filling the whole pitch.

Why the f**k are the advertising hoardings still so close to the pitch after Fletcher’s injury?

Great to see that from forest players with Smith...good sportsmanship

Same hoarding that did for Fletcher now crunches Smith. Dirty bastard

Advertising hording again... by far our most dangerous opponent this season.

It looks better with the fog.

We certainly are the PREMIER experts at making dross sides look way better than they are.

f**k off
Been coming ..............ffs

That’s what you get for letting the game drift.
Can we sub our manager?

Great finish chezzy

38% possession at home to a side near the bottom. Not good enough

That equaliser was inevitable when you be so bloody defensive after going 1-0 up at home it's been all forest this second half.

It was coming. 2nd half forest been better side.

Weve got what we deserve this half.
Half arsed and we have let a shit team take charge.

That’s a red card all day long. The ref is looking straight at it
Knoekart lucky to still be on the pitch

this is going the way of Cardiff...we have run out of ideas.

Abandon it.

This is stupid now.
Can’t see the pitch.

Can the ref really see this?
Could we sneak an extra player or 2 on

The only way we don’t lose this is if it’s abandoned.
How long can people keep using injuries as an excuse for this turgid shite?

Some good news - I can’t see Vokes.

The fog cleared just enough then to see another absolute dog shit Vokes touch.

We deserve to lose as things stand and we could have no complaints we are truly awful at everything past the half way line

The ref has simply no cards for Forest players

Least Grabban is off so this numpty can stop oggling on about him.

Were it not for Wednesday's points deduction forest would be bottom 3. This is a really poor performance.

NFFC bring on a striker
We bring on a defensive mid

There's only one team going for the win here

We are simply fuckin awful at the basics of the game.

Truly abysmal.

Agree he needs to do something but I don't think idiot is the way to describe a manager who has guided us from imminent relegation to the second most points in the division since he took over
there are only two likely winners here, Forest or the fog

Let's not beat about the bush, this is absolutely f*****g wank.

Forest still playing decent football.
We look lost.

We really are ducking atrocious!!!

Trying to lose it.
Forest after blood and revenge

This is garbage! We can’t even do the basics. Forest are poor and we look even worse.

Injuries or not, professional football players should be capable of passing a football.

McClean is f*****g shite

Get f*****g Verlinden on for f***s sake, take that useless f****r Vokes off because he offers absolutely bugger all.

Shocking football against a truly awful side that we are making look decent.

We're on the back foot now. Forest on the ascendancy.

Embarrassing capitulation this half...............

Never a card especially when knockart has been butchering us.
Wank ref

McClean is managing to somehow out-wank himself tonight. That smidgeon of ability he had, which allied to his effort carried him through, has deserted him. Absolutely toss again.

It’s now come to playing for a point at home to Forest - wank!

Oakley Booth on too.
Forest look the more likely to win, which shows how hopeless we are. Injuries have weakened us but we just aren’t strong enough.
We have to be happy with a draw tonight as I can’t see us scoring.

This is like a lads n dads game where all the dads are standing drinking bovril saying “this’ll be called off in a min”

Disgraceful tonight Stoke

Fuckin shite tonight, even if we go on to win, it’s fuckin shite..

No excuses..!!! Shocking O’Niel fuckin shocking.

What a save

f**k me - we got lucky there - what a keeper....

Disgraceful. You can only play what's put in front of you but we seem to want to capitulate to the lowest level possible rather than raising our game and trying to take all the points.

It's a good job we got a fluke goal, otherwise we'd be losing this..... Cuz we've got no attacking threat whatsoever!!!

Save of the season

We are offering NOTHING!!!

It’s all Forest. This is embarrassing

Hanging on for a point. An abject lesson in how to lose control of a game.

This is a joke, defending against a team as bad as Forrest.

Looking at the two sides you'd think it was us battling relegation not forest

No attempt to win the game

This is like watching us under pulis towards the end absolutely dreadful

WTF sort of display is this???? Mickel is wank...Collins wank ..Chester wank...absolutely nothing second half against a shit team...bollocks to it

Vokes. as per usual header into the keepers hands. Shocking player.

Good job Knockfart is a greedy c*nt

We’re treating a shit team in a shit league like Bayern Munich. It’s embarrassing.

Utter f*****g trash. Anyone who thinks this shower are anywhere near the required standard is deluded.

Its finished, two points thrown away

Forrest will feel robbed after taking a point from that. We were dreadful.

We’re lucky to take a point from this, negative dross. MON has done wonders for us in his time here but he really has to be more positive if we are to achieve top 6. We are in desperate need of a striker.

Forest will be wondering how the hell they haven't won that.

We seemed determined to let them win apart from Bursik who well and truly saved our skin.

Very poor performance!! Thought forest were the better side and they are shit ! Never agreed with all shit Vokes gets but he’s put two sitters straight in the goalies hands

Someone must have told O'Neill that Forest are two time European Cup winners.

We were second best all over the pitch we just got lucky they didn’t take their chances and we scored a fluke goal

On another day we lose that 3-0

Will the pitch be playable? Must be a doubt. Our players always seem to slip in normal conditions

Forest are the only Championship club not to have scored a first half goal away from home this season. Hopefully, that will continue today.

Jinxed it now

Be a tough game this, Forest were by far the better side against Stoke last week and had enough chances 2nd half to of won by a 3 goal margin, some good goalkeeping and bad misses prevented !

I agree, it’s a tough game, and with a renewed optimism with 3 consecutive wins, it wouldn’t surprise me if Forest were to stop us in our tracks.

Any home game against today's opponents takes me back to a snowy Tuesday night in 1964 - I can still feel the flakes hitting my face - and an FA Cup 3rd Round replay. 0-0 after 90 minutes but then just a few minutes into extra time the ball runs loose on the edge of the penalty area at the Kop End and the 17-year-old Howard Kendall swoops on it and lashes a rising drive into the roof of the net past the flailing arms of their keeper - the exultation is indescribable. That was the start of an adventure that went all the way to Wembley where it ended if not in victory at least in glory.

If anyone had told me then that years later I would sit indoors 250 miles away watching the same teams playing on a computer screen - apart from the fact that I wouldn't have known then what a computer was - I would have thought it beyond comprehension. But that is what I will be doing later and though if we score I won't shout out loud as I did then I will still feel a thrill. There wouldn't be any point otherwise would there?

How have Forest got so bad from last season? Spiraled out of the play-offs and have seemed to continue that trend, they have a decent squad and really would have had them pegged for top 10 this year.

14 players signed in the summer then sacking the manager who signed them. No way can you keep a group mentality with that basket case of a situation

It's not very often that we are favourites against Notts Forest, if hardly ever. Let's all enjoy watching us slapping their arse (hopefully)

Take a draw today .......but hopefully another scruffy win, Forest always seem to concede.
There may well be some team changes with Davies left out if he is off to wherever, and what this does to team morale.

Others can also correct my memory (if its wrong) but weren't Forest the team we played on our 1st Sunday fixture, in the 3 day week coal strike days @ Deepdale......, again a game I think we won (2 -+ 0 or 3 - 1 ) ??

2~1 .Duncan McKenzie played for forest,Clough manager they were also close to the top of the league

SSN has just shown live pictures of Deepdale, with the snow really coming down.

Find it mental Forest can barely score more than one goal in a game and they had a game recently with Lyle Taylor, Knockaert and Joe Lolley all on the bench

It's usually a 0-0/1-1 type of game against these and wouldn't think it will be much different today. They got a good 1-1 at Stoke in the week.

Win would be brilliant though, would only be a few points off top 6 and would be on course to average 70 points over the season which would be more than last season.

We don't want this game postponed when Forest are in such a shite vein of form!

Can we have an orange ball please?

Forest usually bring 2-3k if it's a Saturday game don't they?

Feb 2019 game was 14k attendance.

No Earl today? Seems a baffling decision - he has played very well over the past few games...

Flat back 4 against a winger of Knockaerts quality who will be tricky and cheat. Can understand the logic

Sow and Yates are a physical midfield duo, so Ledson and Bayliss will need to get around them.

What impact can we expect from Forest dropping into the bottom three last night?

Added pressure and lower belief or a positive motivating factor?

Strange lineup. A touch of genius by Neil, or over thinking it? Let's wait and see.

I hope I’m wrong but I think we’re fecked today.

No goals in that Forest side right now, we score first, we win.

Think they were a bit unfortunate not to get 3 points at Stoke an with the players in their squad, it's very strange to see where they are. It's all been a bit unsettled behind the scenes by the sound of it.
Still a very tough game today an if it means another untidy game an a 1-0 win, I'd be more than happy
