Christie is a liability defensively but he is, at the moment, one of our most consistent attacking outlets.
Whilst Samba has had some low points he has also kept us in many games this season. I think people forget how bad Smith was at times and just remember his save against Ipswich.

In which case play him further forward - and stick Jenkinson behind him.
Better still play 3 at the back with Christie & Ribeiro as wing backs.
Try playing to our strengths.
No need to reply - I know it won’t happen.

Personally I don't think either Samba or Smith are the answer.
Samba is a good shot stopper but he lacks all the other qualities that good goalkeeper's have in my opinion.
If I was in Hughton's shoes I would sign a new number 1 in January.

^ This I fully support ^. Why not try using three CH's with Christie and Ribs as wing backs? I made the same suggestion a couple of weeks ago. It can't be any worse than it already is surely?

Still think last seasons Samba was very good, if not quite the Shilton like figure some fans were making out he was. He was very good at coming out for crosses last season and commanded his area pretty well.
He doesnt look like he communicates with his defence enough to me though and he has this modern day goalkeeper habit of punching when he could catch comfortably. Dont get me started on his time wasting either although he hasnt exactly needed to do that this year.
And if CH doesnt like him, well we always have Diallo.....havent we???? :s

:D
I don't think Christie has the footballing brain to play higher up the pitch, part of his success is because he is coming from deep making him more unpredictable...I don't think he know's what he's going to do most of the time.

I'd have no issues if we signed an upgrade on Samba, this should be the case every time we bring someone in.
If Hughton's priority is to sign a new keeper then I'd sack him now.

I think you've got a point there.
We can't keep a clean sheet. And from what I've seen it's weak keeping...mistakes at RB and figs at ch that are giving away cheap goals.
You need a keeper who can come and claim it and command his penno area. The dithering of Samba and Figs to let Tommi in. RB also for one of the goals was soft...?
You keep making basic mistakes like can't defend and can't score?
You're getting relegated.

I'd put jenks in behind Christie.
Play Christie further forward. He's better at that than defending. If he is a liability why play him at RB..?
Teams are targeting that area and exposed Christie and Figs as wanting.
It's cost goals, matches and many points now.
Along with a keeper that stays rooted.
If these players can't defend. Try others or bring in better. As Worrall said. Not good enough. 4th from bottom is not good enough for Forest.

Just checked back through this thread - not one vote for Arter’s inclusion tonight.
Seems we’re all agreed on one thing.

He doesn't deserve to be included he's been shocking so far.
