Please just don't get battered.

Even though a defeat would be crap, it's a tough game & wouldn't necc signal a relegation fight.

However, a drubbing would raise some real cause for concerns.

Christ Alf we are playing Bournemouth not Barcelona.

We have nothing to fear. We are a better team than how form and league position suggests.

So people keep saying. But the results keep saying otherwise.

Bournmouth have scored 7 in their last 2 games (one of those games being against a Karanka team, who's obv known for his defensive bias). I think it's a fair cause for concern.

this is an engrained problem with the club, we have lost and drawn loads and loads of games, around 90% of losses have been by 1 goal and 90% of draws due to us only scoring 1 goal or less

i personally would welcome a couple of drubbings if it got us out of this low goals no goals rut and finds a way to get this team scoring and winning

i don't think a 6.3 loss would hurt anymore than losing 1 nil in the 95th minute

we seem to be about having a rigid, simple way of playing, as in the same thing for 90 minutes and to compound things CH doesn't like to use subs

particularly with the extreme fixture congestion and maybe older squad profile expecting our lot to run around closing down and chasing back for 90 minutes won't suit us

if anything our squad would be suited to complex tactical changes but every game seems the same or quite similar, though i appreciate our possession had increased but i think you have to go out to dominate lesser teams

regardless go for goals, or choose the time we go for it and gamble we need to start scoring, a drubbing so what we have to try new things based around scoring goals

I was very disappointed Hughton took a cautious approach early on, after the last minute winner in the first game at Blackburn I thought we should have built on that and pushed on for wins in the following very winnable matches (Rotherham and Derby). Some people seem to think that not losing was somehow 'laying a foundation', but I thought the draws were disappointing results, and it looked like the players did too.

I don't think away to Bournemouth is the time to take more risks, though I do think we need to change things tactically against them. It's just frustrating that we didn't push on when we should have, and the failure to get 3 points from matches against the weaker sides will likely be highlighted after this tough run we have coming up.

Regardless of the approach, losing by 3 or more goals would set alarm bells ringing somewhat. If we do go for an attacking approach, then there's nothing to say we still won't lose 6-3 as opposed to 3-0. It's more the gap of the defeat which would concern me, rather than how we chose to approach the game.

And with any luck we'll come away with some points regardless.

Regards the approach though, I definitely think the current squad is geared towards attacking more than it is defending. Christie, Figs, Colback (due to fitness) and almost whoever we play at LB are players who all give me the jitters defensively.

Whereas Taylor, Lolley, Ameobi, Grabban, Knockers, & Freeman are all players who I've more faith in going the other way.

It seems so bizarre that we've built a more attacking squad in the Summer, to employ another manager more renowned for defensive organisation to mange it.

Personally I thought we attacked well against Barnsley e the e bar 3 times but 2 of the would of been worldies if they went in they scored a worldie, but we had 5 really good chances keep playing like that and we will win more than we lose. Barnsley have been nobodies mugs this season
And Mowett and Woodrow would both get in most Championship teams .
