We have Mighten too who could play up front, but he was missing too.

Pretty sure Iaonou was our CB cover today.

What would you have done then? Who was missing from bench that could change a match, that isn't injured?

Strength in numbers yes....strength in depth in terms of quality not really.

Which poor decisions by the manager?

Agree Freeman shouldn't have been sent on.

Pretty sure Hughton didn't miss any sitters or give the ball away though. Maybe he decided on Ribeiro's studs causing him slip over for 2nd goal. Or did he feed Freeman pies over last two weeks to make his ar$e big enough to block out the sun?

I thought the display was pretty good for the most part, but having not taken our chances we reverted to type for last few minutes.

Tuesday will be a good barometer of whether we are heading in right direction in terms of performance.

Guerrero at fault for 2 shit shots more than anyone else. Riberio had a poor game too and figgs distribution is awful. It is so frustrating and we have a battle on our hands I think.

Not sure what subs would have improved us,  Ameobi may have done something, our bench didint look too strong when we were chasing the game.

In my humble opinion, the most balanced post I have read regarding not using the subs. I think we are in minority SM, but I agree 100%. Dont get me wrong I am gutted we lost, but starting XI played very well.

I was reading the other day about a non scoring CF for Burton Albion a few years back. All his teammates said he was crucial to their success. Guerrero has only played a few games and should get better, (hopefully his finishing will too), but we look a better team with him on the pitch.

Anyway, I've been spikey enough for one night. Good evening all. Onward and upwards.

Real kick in the sack that. Great to see us play so well going forward, but let's not kid ourselves we defended poorly, and could have easily been a few goals down early doors.

We've lost too much defensive quality from last year (Cash, Daws, Sow, Wozza etc.). As usual we've let quality go, and replaced it with worse.

Tough run of fixtures coming up now. Hughton needs to find a formula to get us scoring, and forget about defending until he can sign some better players in Jan.

Why we didn’t go in for Alex Mowatt in the summer instead of wasting resources on Colback and Arter and that french lad who has gone missing

Alan Brown at Preston's contract was running out & would have been available for an affordable price. We missed a trick with Ryan Woods too.

The amateurs running the club need to stay well away from recruiting for future windows. They're the biggest reason we're in this mess IMO.

It's utterly frightening how the top brass running us just don't get British football, and how so many elements of what makes a good team (leadership, unity, right players for the right roles etc.) pass them by.

Not renewing Osborn's contract, being happy with 3.5m for him, and spending 4m on Jenks & Da Costa when Osborn could cover both roles & more tells us all we need to know about how short sighted they are.

Well for a start both colback and Arter were free transfers so would've cost significantly less even if you factor in the increased wages. Arter has admittedly been a disappointment so far sadly.

I certainly don't believe if Mowatt was in our team today it would've been a vastly different game. Think how desperate this forum was to sign Freeman and look at his output so far. Grass is always greener etc
