The thing with 4-4-2 is that the 2 must work for each other.
We saw that today.
Can you honestly see Grabban and Taylor working together ? Its as much about the players as it is the formation. 4-4-2 works when you see the players working for each other.
Grabban is a number 1. Taylor is a number 1.
Not going to work.
Guerrero is in as a number 2 and knows it, his way into the team is to work with the number 1 striker.
Big difference and why a Grabban/Taylor 4-4-2 will never work.

You can tell we won because of 3 or 4 posters who have NOT commented on the matchday thread.

It wouldn't be a big shock if we got another striker in January and Grabban moved on

Some people say its only Wycombe but they had beaten Birmingham Sheffield and drew with Watford and like most years "anyone can beat anyone in this league"
Please with the win.

It wasn’t a 4-4-2. Guerrero played the same role as Lolley and Freeman have since CH arrived in a 4-2-3-1. The one game CH tried 4-4-2 was against Derby and it didn’t work.

Was not around to listen to the match yesterday, I have now seen the highlights on iplayer, what really did impress me was the after match interview with LT, so informative and intelligent player, I think Forest are lucky to have this guy at our club and I honestly believe he may well become a cult hero down on Trent side.

So.....do folk think Grabs might effectively be backup to Taylor now? Would be quite a bold decision to go straight back to Grabs once he's fit after the last couple of matches.

Taylor has shown that even with a lone striker, we can attack oppositions defences at pace and not simply hold the ball up until support arrives. Grabban has failed to deliver the goods so far this season with some chances harder to miss than score from! Taylor has found the net and there could potentially be a good partnership developing between him and Guererro. Taylor is not afraid to pass to team mates either, unlike Grabban who wants to take all of the limelight all of the time.
It would be a massive injustice to Taylor if Grabban just waltzed back into the team once he has recovered from his injury

Lyle Taylor's endorsement of Forest's new found playing identity says it all.
The players seem happier. A clean sheet and a two nil win against the kind of side Forest capitulated against last season.
Chris Hughton's stamp is already apparent with the team more purposeful and clued up and the recent results .
Lots of players not fit and the lack of preseason has been glaring. The players are beginning to gel.
More to come from Hughton's Forest.
Back to back wins. :)
