Is Vrentzos The New Mark Arthur, Should We Question Him?

The rumour Ribeiro is not playing because our owner wanted him to go to Olympiakos but he wanted to stay at Forest, so now we spite ourselves by not playing him at all? That is absurd.

TBH Ribeiro was dreadful post lockdown, teams heavily targeted him, and he looked a weak link to me.

All of the Portuguese were / are lowly paid compared to the others. The talk was that they were trying to get more ££.

Yuri needs to force his way back in.

If he deserves to play Hughton will play him. There is no way Hughton will pick a team that isn’t his choice.

Ridiculous if anyone thinks differently.

Not defending Ribs at all - and he signed the contract - but must be tough to share a dressing room with other players of similar ability but who are getting paid possibly 2 or 3 times what he is on.

Agreed, can you imagine what he thought when bong came in??

If he asked for a pay rise at the end of last season then his timing couldn't have been any worse because EM was raging.

Bong may turn out to be the better player yet. Hughton likes him.

Plus Bong joined from the PL and has had a much better career than what Ribeiro has had so far.

I take it you didnt see Bong’s 60 mins vs Charlton then before Worrall yelled at the bench and told them to take him off? One of the worst debuts I have ever seen.
Ribeiro is a much better player with far more potential. Should remember he is ours and if we develop him he could be worth a sizeable fee one day. Madness to chuck him on the scrap heap, if that is indeed what is happening (caveat we dont know for definite).

As debuts go it was a bit of a mare! However I also watched him live under Hughton at Brighton when I got freebies quite a few times a season and he was very decent.

It was only 60 minutes albeit a pretty shocking 60 minutes.....

Riberio gets exposed in the air almost every game he plays. McKenna may help but if he starts on Saturday, Middlesbrough will do just that...

Would like to see 3 at the back plus Ribeiro as one of the wing backs - believe this would get the best out of our current squad.

Don’t know if Hughton has ever turned to 3 at the back?

The hour Bong played gets worse every time it’s retold. The truth is he certainly wasn’t the worst Forest player on the pitch that night. As others have said, if Hughton wants to include him there isn’t anyone better to get him playing at his best.

I would say when Ribeiro was playing well up until the general collapse, he was rarely exposed in the air. Teams definitely targeted him and he came up trumps nearly always. His defending at the back post was superb too.

However, his form was awful (like many others) at the back end of the season and start of this.

Pretty sure he could pick it up again at some point, though Hughton is probably confident he can get a tune out of Bong again.
