Ozzy always links well with Carv.
3 at back suit Ozzy and Cash perfectly.

Neither are wingers and neither are out and out full backs.

Glad to hear it.  It's not the first time this season Car' and Os' have linked up well.

Maybe we've found the holy grail solution...innovative formation and player line up today.

No Colback in sight.

I wonder what the runes say for next season...

Thought I'd bump this as thinking about our season so far, when Samba has been injured (quite alot) whoever's has replaced him has struggled, understandably to fill his boots. If next season we are in the same division, I would really love to see our midfield options include Jack Colback. Top player at this level, already lives here, on a free (granted may get much better offers elsewhere), knows the club and we know midfield 2 out of Samba Watson and Colback would be a match for anyone, especially in Sabris system.

I like Yates, but think he could do with a loan to another Championship club until Christmas, similar to Walker last year. Silva isn't quite right for deeper role in this division and Johnson is still unproven. Bostock also unproven, having his best half game against a Millwall side who were sitting back and cruising at 3-0. Colback is proven.

Our biggest problem this season has been our lack of strength in depth (lots of depth, but strength?). Every time Sabri has rested players in the league we have struggled. Most supporters would name virtually the same 11 at present, with only possible debate at CB where Daws was flying until his injury and at No 10 where Silva gets the nod for consistency, but many of us still believe Carvalho has all the tools to make that shirt his in the future. All other 9 choices are completely nailed on and the back ups trail quite far behind the 1st choices based on form this season (can add Carvalho to that based on this season too). Some are youngsters, so will develop and may push for starting slot.

So for me Colback, on a free and sensible wages (2 yr contract?) Would be a no brainer.

I liked Colback, thought he was a great player for us. The Watson - Colback partnership didn't work before so not sure it would in the future. I'd rather see us look forward not back, by understand completely why fans want him, but its a no from me.

Really? Often I agree  dont bring them back, however, on this one I'd snap him up in a heartbeat. They looked good together away at Boro in a very Sabri like performance. Watson had a generally poor season (certainly by the standards he has set in his career and for us this season) so not sure it was the partnership that didn'twork, more Watson struggling for form in a key position. Colback was 2nd in POTY after Lolley. He is younger than both Samba and Lolley too. Other than dirty b@$tard Phillip's and equally dirty b@$tard at Preston (Pearson), I cant name a better Championship player in that position that Sow plays. Not sure Preton or DirtyLeeds would give us them on a free?

Would love to see him back, he’s a good solid midfielder who is not injury prone. Definite yes from me.

I'm wondering if these stories aboult Colback are being put out there to put pressure on Watson to accept a deal.

I don't think it's that, just people know he lives locally and is a free agent. My worry is he will get a much better offer at a recently (or soon to be) relegated club like Villa, or Fulham Its likely to be his last big contract, though no where near as big as the one he has just completed.

Yep. They seem to be going down the youth route now. League 2 will be a great learning experience for their young lads.
