Today showed why we signed Shelvey IMO and why we need to get him fit asap.

I was in favour of signing Wood thought he was what we needed but have to agree he was poor to say the least. Dont want to write him off yet but already wondering what the terms of that obligation to buy are.

What I found funny today is when wood was playing we played hoof ball. And he couldn't trap, pass or header.. then same came on and we were a total different team, also Navas is like Buffon and Van Der Sar, one of them world class keepers who will be quality into his 40s, if he was willing to take a good pay cut I'd have him on a 2 year deal.. will save us points on his own. Like today, our other gks would have struggled with some of them saves

It was noticable how for one of his saves he parried the ball away to the side rather than do a Hennessey and bat it out to the oncoming striker.

I’m encouraged that cooper saw Neco as being terrorised and decided to being serge on to put a bit more umph there and also to recognise that Danilo was close to being sent off!

Wood has had barely any service in the games so far, I don’t think it’s fair to judge him based on 2 games where he hasn’t had the ball. He probably could have done better when he took the ball around Meslier, but it was hardly an easy chance. I have faith that he’ll score. I’d rather have him than not have him

I think Cooper's idea was that Williams pace and forward ability would put that Struik guy under pressure (who looked bang average). What happened though is that their midget winger pushed Williams back. But Aurier bossed him when he came on.

You're right. Can we all agree not to write Wood off until he's had a few games, and more importantly, had a few weeks on the training ground with Cooper. Taiwo looked poor when he first arrived and took a good long time to look capable.

If you mean Wood then agreed he wasn't at his best today. There may be games that suit be more than this one. Daft to write him off after two matches though - he's scored enough goals in the Premier League in the past to suggest he'll be some use to us in the future.

Why do people keep.calling him Woods?! It's not hard to spell his name right. Tiger hasn't signed for us! I wasn't sure if people were getting autocorrected or something.
