Three things stood out to me that have been severely lacking that impressed me ozzy. Things we have been lacking.

1. We need to let the players know they are good players. 

2. Were not worried about Millwall we need to concentrate on what we do. 

3. We want to control the football. We want the ball. 

Not the biggest fan of this appointment prior to the interview due to his issues at Swansea but if he implements those 3 things with the promise of attacking creative football we may well of landed on our feet here.

It's good to hear those intentions.

Spoke well in the 1st interview.  Very rounded, progressive and forward thinking.  He's aware of the history and the brand of football Forest fans expect.  He's keen on youth.  Hitting all the right notes.  It's all there in the 'open letter' to Forest fans on the Forest web-site.

"My approach to management throughout my time coaching in the junior and senior game has been to play attacking, creative football. That will not change. From speaking to those who love Forest and hold dear its traditions and history, I recognise that this is a club that demands a style and a verve in keeping with its greatest days under its greatest manager. I hardly need to tell you that this club have been out of English football’s top-flight for far too long."  Steve.

I hope it transpires on the pitch.

I'll be very happy with a more aggressive, possession based form of creative attacking football.

Also, he talked of building on the good work Steve Reid did vs Huddersfield where Forest were much more on the front foot.  So he'll hopefully be taking that on board vs Millwall.

Hopefully get a new manager 'bounce.'  If it's anything like the Huddersfield display, we'll give Millwall a game.  I'm looking forward to Saturday with great interest.

More energy, more aggression, a higher press.  Good counter attacking.  Forest seemed very compact last game.  Thought the 3-4-3 suited them.  Gave more defensively and more going forwards.  Neither defence or attack too isolated.

His interview was very positive and refreshing tbh.

It was.  Positive and refreshing.  Very much so.  And holistic talking about all the aspects from the 1st team to the academy and the development of those youth players.  Noting you need young players in a side whilst balancing that with a bit of experience.

Progressive with the hint of ambition from his humility.  He talked of his desire to play creative and attacking football.  Recognising Forest's traditions and the attacking heritage of our greatest manager and the fans expecting that 'verve.'

Here's to a (...) sweet symphony.

Well, I wasn't enthusiastic at any stage about Steve Coopers appointment, however, I just listened to the interview and changed my mind.

Time to ditch the cycnicism and apathy, it's a coping mechanism but doesn't come anywhere near to getting totally behind the team.

Something i really like about this appointment is that he has comprehensively proved he has the credentials, he has and is more than qualified in every way, it is the absolute perfect fit, all parties equally want the same things

He also has a very, very .. very rare quality ... integrity, this guy will walk on principle if he is shat on, he's got a heart, this will be very interesting

Ditto the above... was against this appointment. However, after listening to the interview he comes across very well, says the right things and all seems good.... actions though, actions speak louder than words. Let’s hope he can deliver on what he has said today.

Exciting times to be a red again???

We might finally have a manager who knows what the club is, what the fans want and who wants the same.

Having read his letter to the fans, and seen his interview I am so impressed along with others that have commented.
What I liked most was his attitude of letting other teams worry about us, and reinforcing the idea to the players that they are good. BC would never openly admit to prospective opponents being something to worry about. His attitude was " let them worry about us " I think we have the perfect fit, and even the cynical Sky TV pundit and ex Forest David Prutton said that there are exciting times ahead for Forest. It may be a bumpy ride, but at last I think the Pilot has the right map now and knows where we need to land.

New manager, new hope. We’ve been here many times before, since Doughty left at least. If he sees out his two year contract he will be the first since BD in 2011, so I’m not going to expect miracles from Cooper’s management of the first team.

Personally, I’m far more interested in the club implementing a new management structure with stats based recruitment than who the latest man in the dug out is. If that is all right, for once, then the coach is icing on the cake.

The depths of despair have lifted and I`m really looking forward to getting back the WFCG. Really liked his humble but positive approach on interview seems like a genuine guy who just wants to support and add value to the club overall. I was a CH supporter in the early days and anything for a stable club but I didnt want to watch any more of that. Cooper fits the new mould and structure put in place and as long as we can stay up this season ( which I think we can ) then the future is bright.
