There was a similar incident in the spurs/west ham game yesterday that I was watching and I was screaming hand ball. That wasn't given too.
So imo I don't think we could have complained had the ref given it. We got a let-off there.
Never a penalty for me.
Anderson nudges Aina in the back which pushes Aina forward onto the ball, the Arsenal player has his foot on Ainas chest (foul) and I am not even convinced that the ball was still in play at the time it hit Aina's arm.
That is my take on it.
I thought he scooped the ball with his arm in a deliberate act to ensure the ball didn't go out. Mitigating circumstances perhaps, but the arm movement was a deliberate movement. I think that's the crucial thing. Had the ref given it, VAR wouldn't have overturned it. I didn't catch the Arsenal fans' reaction. They had a perfect view of it. Were they going crazy? Anyone know?

Couldn’t really tell if they were or not. Probably excited about getting a corner. One angle shows it does hit Aina’s shoulder before his arm so I’d say it was the correct decision.

I've changed my mind now as I've just seen a longer version of the clip. The ball hits Ola's shoulder first just as he gets kicked in the chest by the attacker. He then scoops the ball with his hand afterwards. As the kick happens before the scoop I think VAR have to give a foul on Aina.

The ball going for a corner negates anything Aina did - if it didn’t go for a corner there would have been an advantage so probably more of a decision to make. It had no effect whatsoever ever on the passage of play- that’s before you take into consideration the foul, Anderson, and another body part first. No penalty. Also - our var camera angles aren’t great for subjective penalty calls around the box - var will never be fair until the cameras are standardised whatever stadium you are in.

Your last point was my first reaction, hard to see but think it was over the line by time he was bundled into it

The ball wasn’t over the line but it definitely wasn’t a deliberate handball.
I think we kept Arsenal at bay but didn’t really trouble them. Although having said that, how Oliver called back the free kick when Hutchinson was off towards the goal is beyond me. Other than that he was fine.
Jesus is a good centre forward. He is sooooo isolated and I found it interested that he was Getting fouled but not getting decisions and then when he was getting physical the calls were against him.
If we get a forward he needs support otherwise then it’s not going to be much different. Can David Fratessi do what Morgan Rogers does? KNit the midfield to the forward line?
That is what we were missing. Ando looked refreshed. He obviously needs more rest between games. I think he definitely needs to be rotated. We have to remember he is still very young.
Anyway, positive. And Sangare seems like a different beast.
Chicago: satisfied.

I have the same view.
Also without an Arsenal player in the vicinity, not sure how anyone could go the other way.
In fact if it was an Arsenal player in the back of Aina nudging his arm into contact, I doubt it would be given either.
