Everton - Nottingham Forest

Every team in the league would struggle without arguably the best right back in the league, one of the top central defenders in the league, a top notch midfielder and a 20 goal a season striker. Also changing managers twice, bedding in new young players and adapting to new systems. NIGHTMARE. I am also slightly worried that Sean is working them too hard in training trying to get them to a higher fitness level. They looked tired at times and not just in body but in their minds and they are slow to make decisions and it is costing us.

Agreed. He doesnt use his subs. We're set up for a target man with no target man. Won't drop players. Just like at Everton where he kept playong Keane who was under performing. We may make 4 managers at this rate

I don't think that will happen but you never know.

Sean is probably the best man to have in charge for a relegation battle.

The question is can he take us forward in the longer term?

Think most forest fans know hes just here to keep us up, and the we go again in the summer. Hes not a long term manager for us sadly, we brought in some quality players and they are ether not interested, not suited, or dyche wont play them. The team on paper should be scoring more than 1 against wolves, and should be at least turning up at Everton. Feels grim for spurs sunday too

Which quality players isn’t he playing? 
He can’t play injured players and he is trying to keep some players fresh for a Euro game midweek. 

The reasons for our current predicament have been listed several times over and we all know them, but we are a bottom six side, we won’t finish any higher. 
Bottom six sides more than occasionally put in performances like yesterday’s. 

You can argue we shouldn’t be a bottom six side, but we are far enough into the season now that the league table isn’t lying. 
3 out of our 4 seasons in the Prem have been relegation battles.

Jair played better in one game than morato has 3.

Refusing to play kalimuendo when jesus is lagging.
Same for mcatee and mgw.
Etc etc.

Like hutchinson, if you dont give them minutes how are they ment to show there worth? It still narked me how we spemt all summer targeting pacey wing backs to sign a 6ft 4 italian greg halford. Infact halford was better defensively

He’s trying to keep one eye on our euro games and keep some players fresh. 
You can argue that the league is more important and comes first, but that isn’t the remit he was employed under is it? 
Our Euro campaign and our injury list are limiting our choices on match day.

I think he should've been rotating more though surely. Kalimuendo and Mcatee should've been on yesterday surely? Needs to use the squad, to keep players fresher. I really hope he can master that fast.

In a weird sort of way being in Wolves position would probably help us in that regard, ignore the league and concentrate on the cup. Unfortunately we don’t have the luxury that Spurs and Man Utd had of 3 obvious much poorer teams below them. 
Feels like trying to compete in both is going to cost us both…

Burnley do seem to have dropped back after a few early wins, Leeds are still not a good side too. We can still build a decent lead over these teams. Need to play much better than this week though.

Theres keeping players fresh and then the quotes from dyche will be they dont have enough match fitness.

Leeds seem to have a bit of fight in them though, didn’t expect them to beat Chelsea or get a result yesterday. Fair play to them. They came into this season expecting a fight, we didn’t. 
Conversely this last game week as felt like a corner being turned in the opposite direction for us, another home loss (Brighton) and struggled against Wolves and Everton.  
Felt like we had take a point against Brighton and a point against Everton to keep up the pressure above us and stay on target. 
Instead we will probably fall back into the zone over the next game week. 
That isn’t good. 
Think we needed to stay out of it until transfer window opened to have a real chance.

Yeah but then we also had our game vs Leeds where they were awful. They've not suddenly become a good team although agreed they've played well and been competitive. They don't look like they'll just drop like a stone.

It was f*****g awful.

Started terribly with the booking and early goal, finished terribly with CHO putting that free kick straight into the stand (that was shocking) and everything inbetwen was terrible too.

Sort it out Sean because that level of performance is not acceptable.

Yesterday was poor. I’ve noticed we are no longer as compact as a team and try and make the pitch bigger. That relies on having excellent passing across the team. Yesterday even Ando was off it on his distribution. Everton had better shape and therefore pr3ssed the hell out of us. Very similar to Bournemouth actually.
I also dont know why when the game is gone not resting MGW or Jesus?

Well now it’s a losing side, dom and Cho to probably start on the wing against Utrecht maybe with Yates injured pull MGW into the 8 to give Ando a day off and play mcattee in the 10 kalimeundo to start hopefully bakwa makes the bench Abbott at rb again?
