Swansea Fans Pre Match and 1st Half Comments.....
I think Cooper is probably more of a manager who can come in tighten things up and get result. I don't think he is a long term manager who can build over the longer term, which im hoping Martin can.
I dont think we are too far away, one or two to challenge for starting places and a couple for the bench and we could be a different side.
We were going nowhere under Cooper. He knew it, the club knew it. That’s why he was binned or walked.
We may fail under Martin, but there is clearly more headroom in terms of where we are now aiming. Will put things back on the right track whether Martin pulls it off or not. Astras and arduas as Brenno would have it.
You classify two play-off campaigns as going nowhere? Not sure I agree with that.
We finished the season in the same division we started it. Twice. That is the text book definition of going nowhere.
For what its worth, we are going nowhere under Martin as well. I never had any expectations for Cooper and I have even less for Martin. I certainly don't see anything special. Im reminded of Potters team. Totally inconsistent and not very good defensively.
Feel they'll do us today with their pace.
If, if we lose that will match Cooper's run of points at the time in his first season.
Hut hey ho let's go back to watching who can hoof the ball furthest, defending for 80 minutes and bottling important games.
Didn’t realise the players had their Xmas party last night!!!
ffs piroe misses the proverbial open goal
probably our only shot on goal too
Men against boys.
Our far stronger squad is showing already, 2 steps ahead of the inferior quality opposition.
Controlled beautifully with 3 deep lying CMs at the heart of our high lying defence. And ofc with Matty pushed up into the red zone, orchestrating up high
Downer, warra plonker. Utter liability, overrated by the dappy clappers
Having to listen today and am reminded just how much Radio Wales and Walsh especially have a downer on the Swans. Nothing but praise for Forest.
Forest look very happy to sit in and hit us on the counter with long balls to the channel.
Cabango getting done down his side quite a lot, having him and Bennett leaves us very slow at the back and susceptible to the quick ball in behind.
Watching this at home with a third of the game gone it’s boring as fućk.
It,s against a Cooper team … what do you expect?
You clearly lack the refined eye for possession based football with a calamitous CM playing as our deepest lying player.
Couldn't be more exciting, surely.
Bit surprised the sheeple here aren't waxing lyrical mind.
An excellent set piece from talismanic leader Matty G. Pity Ntcham wasn't as clever.
What the fvck Piroe.
Piroe missing regularly in the last few weeks
He clearly did that for Coops. On his left wand as well.
Huffing and puffing with a CM as our CB.
c.70% possession yet with both teams having 2 Shots apiece.
Boring, as heck, but at least we aren't losing.
Too slow, rubbish in front of goal & poor defensively.
Apart from that we are doing ok.
HT 0-0

Swansea Fans 2nd Half Comments.......
Oh FFS....0-1
Defence is really really bad.
Concentrating too much on possession.
Manning shìt out
Jeez us FFS
At least we have 71% possession. Cabango needs to go out to pasture.
WTF! 0-2
Game over, better than us
Should have buried them chances in the first half, almost game over.
We ain't going anywhere with this defence... No where except down
Downes will be lucky to stay on
AC will creaming himself as we speak.
Going to be interesting to see how Martin responds to three on the bounce.
WTF is Downes doing.Lucky there.
Falling apart
Downes lucky boy, lucky for us
Get In 1 back, Come back is on boyz
Really poor, shows how important Naughton is for us. Downes just cannot play in there.
I'd imagine a new CB will be at the very top of the RM wishlist for January.
As for Piroe, id agree he has gone off the boil recently. We really do need a bit more up top for when he is misfiring.
One back, lets see what happens now...
Cooper will look to keep hold on to this, let's get at them.
Forest will now have to pay £7.5m+ for Cooper to get his man, Piroe.
The price just almost doubled . I truly hope our Winter of discontent earns his crust, for once.
Link stream went down bloody missed it!.As Jack2jack said Cooper will try defend this,Lets go!!.
WTF. Game over.....1-3
Honest to f**k.How does Hamer not claim that.
Oh dear Hamer
It's getting embarrassing now
That is absolutely woeful from Hamer, another one in contention to be replaced.
What the f**k has happened to this team?
Calamity Cabango, yet again, oh dear, oh feck
You just cant legislate for that, second howler for Hamer now innit. Not today though is it.
I don’t see the problem. There’s plenty on here who think Cooper is a crap manager, so we must have this in the bag...
Not crap, just bored the tats off us, and then decided to f**k off.
He wanted out... He f****d off, go beg him to come back
No surprise really, Hamer shouldn't be anywhere near a league one side never mind playing in the Championship
Nothing is in the bag if you have crap players.
January cannot come soon enough.
The happy clappers, head in the sands, twisted puerile agendas. The classic sheeple.
We can still do this if Martin just lets the players wrest control instead of meddling, as per.
72% possession must surely count for something, right. We surely deserve to at least get some parity on the scoresheet, apparently.
Most incoming managers make the very best of the resources at hand. Cut their cloth and get on with it.
Yet Martinis demanding a blank chequebook. Bonkers as feck, in so many ways.
Winter out.
I don't get these numptys having a go at downs
Our problem is the pace forest have out wide we can't compete with it
Having 72% possession means nothing, as the scoreline shows, Forest have more shots on target and more shots in the box, that's where it counts. We don't "deserve" anything, Forest have been the more efficient side
We missed two sitter early doors, we've been poor at the back and Hamer has had a shocker. 72% possession means FA. Unless there was a bit of sarcasm in you post, forget the first bit of my post. Tidy
Can all of the Cooper lovers please get over themselves. He wanted out, touted himself for multiple jobs and then wouldnt resign.
Secondly, Martin came in with no time to build his own side. Obviously completely overhauling a style of play should take less than a week?
Cooper loving wums need not reply.
same old story.
we've midssed three f*****g sitters again and given them two goals.
cabango shoukd be nowehere near a footballing side
Six minutes Injury Time
Simply not good enough again
Coops wanted out cos Wunter was so very hapless. Fact.
Wunter is so very hapless that he's spunkin millions in brand Martin to try and recover his reputation. Fact. Just check out the MArtin unveiling presser - if anyone can't see the desperate dynamic, look closer, it's blindingly obvious even for the blindly faithful happy flappin clappers.
It all went tits up when Birch moved on, unfortunately.
Wunter & Co, Out.
No idea what has happened to Cabango since Martin was appointed. He did well under Cooper.
Just going to say the same. Oh FFS 4-1
Dear god. Bummed.
f**k sake Hamer.
They think it's all over ...
That went well.
Well pick the bones out of that one
Don't worry, we had 74% possession....
Cabango is no full back and cooper knew it

Swansea The Aftermath......
Hamer directly responsible for 3 goals today through basic mistakes. It's just not good enough.
In January we need a Goalkeeper, Central Defender, and Number 10. In reality, we'll probably get a winger on loan.
Simply not good enough... I called this today b4 the game, I said that they'll do us with pace but I didn't think we'd hand it to them on a plate.
Defensively we are crap. Martin needs a Plan B because our defence isn't good enough to play wide open football.
Things we have got from today:
Hamer isnt good enough.
Downes cant play at the back.
Cabango and Bennett are not fit for the system.
We cannot finish our chances.
We have no depth in the squad.
Lots of work to be done.
Yeah, you're right. Let's spunk even more millions in brand Martin.
Bonkers, look at the bigger picture, take a step back, think and then post. I suggest.
Our players gave it their best. But they were hamstrung by shocking managerial multiple faux pas.
I have honestly missed Cooper's fists-a-pumpin
It's a such the pity it was to the Away end.
Such a tragedy.
Cooper had so much to give.
Wunter Out.
Not at the game today, young man? I thought you would have been all over this, or have you spent all your pocket money on sweets?
Absolutely trash at the back. You'd think that's an area Martin would have an idea about being an ex defender. I wonder if Martin is going call this defeat outrageous?
Will he now start playing to players strengths than expecting a while team to play a style they are not comfortable with. He keeps saying especially the last 3 weeks that training is going well. Maybe it does if they are all playing the same way. Tempo against our team and we lose. Give us enough possession and we make critical mistakes
Yeah, you're right. Let's spunk even more millions in brand Martin.
Bonkers, look at the bigger picture, take a step back, think and then post. I suggest.

Rubbish mate the problem lies with the strength of the squad ,forest have spent millions over the last few years have a massive squad but critically pace ,which cooper exploited today as he knew the players we have .
Martin must and will have this window and the next
I don't get these numptys having a go at downs
Our problem is the pace forest have out wide we can't compete with it
The fact you don't get it could very well be your problem. Open your eyes.
It's so very obvious to the few of us who 'See' and not just ' Look' , like many of the unthinking Martinballists.
*numpties, ffs.
Out thought by a team that realised it’s more important to control the game than possession in your own half. Embarrassingly easy really. We even had 3 or 4 warning shots first half and ignored them.
We're wide open at the back because our wing backs don't defend.
You've got no answers except get rid of winter... Good luck with that... Try begging buck tooth to come back, you know the guy that wanted out.
'Buck tooth'. Only some kind of imbecile would say something like that, esp nowadays.
He only wanted out cos Wunter is so hapless. He did his very best, staying on through preseason to help the transition - for the sake of his senior players. Proper gent, something many here wouldn't recognise.
Still no answers big boy.... So who replaces winter, come on, who replaces Martin, come on, your the imbecile love... Bumping your gums like you are superior but nothing except hot air coming out. Numpty.
We do really lack pace in the squad and despite playing with 'wingbacks' we also lack width until the point of us being camped around their 18yd box.
That was sobering. I’d appreciate understanding the inner mind of Martin, does he really think the minefield trio of Grimes, Downes and Smith is his best option? What’s his thinking behind having wing backs so far up the pitch that they leave acres of open space where goals seem to be flowing from? There were signs of progression, maybe a case of two steps forward and one back, but recent weeks have been flat out in reverse.
Perch needs help.
If people can’t see it now they’ll never see it.
He’s a poisonous prick that needs to be wired up to the national grid and I’m not even sure that would work.
Utterly embarrassing today
Way too flaky, defenders needed asap. What could go wrong....did. Fckn gutted.
The worst we have played for years
They can stick their season tickets up their arse after that performance
We lost that game through being skinned down the flanks ,bad goalkeeping and missing sitters simple as that
People have been told a hundred trillion times on here not to over exaggerate after a loss.
Match Stats:
Swansea City: 75% Possession & 20% of goals
Forest: 25% Possession & 80% of goals.
Russell’s plan is flawed.
Totally agree, if we played 3 forward passes we’d be in a position to have a shot at goal . As it is we play 1 forward pass, 1 back pass and 1 side pass and we still haven’t reached the halfway line. We are trying to walk the ball into the goal, afraid to shoot and just pass pass pass without penetration. Crossing was shocking, Manning found their keeper with every cross and then getting caught on our left hand side by pedestrian left side central defender & left hand side wingback. They right winger &right fullback skinned us today and it was obviously Coopers plan to attack this area. Embarrassing losing by this score at home and listening to Martin’s post match interview he learnt nothing !!! 3 losses on the bounce and 2 tough away games ahead we could be on a 5 loss losing streak by the last home game of the year.
Last 2 games lost by opponents letting us have possession and catching us on the break but we will plod on doing the same thing which will inevitably lead to the same result !!!!!
What a load of plop!
Martinis utterly egotistical, almost purist, cult-like obsession needs to be nipped in the bud.
He's a visionary with an ego, and an used car salesman-like ability to con the likes of hapless Wunter, and ofc the sheeple who wanted Cooper out. They even started a thread on Cooper Out, who'd have thought it.
I don't want to beg Cooper to come back (he's gone), but it's an interesting insight into fan's behaviour isn't it. Many were bored at times last season (me included) and were vocal about wanting him gone and some got pretty personal too. Yet is anyone less bored with us passing it across the half way line and then back to the sitting CB this season?
It's unimaginative and more importantly ineffective football. At least last year we were getting results. At the same stage last year we were in 3rd with 11 wins and 4 points off top. This year we've got 7 wins and are in 16th, 18 points off top.
I like the foundation he's trying to put down, but unless he solves what we do in the opposition half it's all meaningless.
Totally agree about the stats above, if we played 3 forward passes we’d be in a position to have a shot at goal . Last 2 home games lost by opponents letting us have possession and catching us on the break but we will plod on doing the same thing which will inevitably lead to the same result !!!!!
Yeah I hear ya.... There's no defending Martin today, it was embarrassing. Coopers results for us speak for themselves, anyone who rubbishes them is a mug but I certainly didn't enjoy watching most of it. It's the old results versus entertainment argument. I was encouraged at the beginning of this season, Martin said the right things and I could see the progression but that's melted away somewhat for me at the moment and having just watched tonight's post match interview I'm in real no man's land when it comes to the manager, I buy some of the things he's said tonight but some of it truly unbelievable. I guess at the end of the day it comes down to faith in him but it's really being tested at the moment, I can take losing but not in the manner we've been losing. He needs to stop the rot and quickly but my worry is that he's as stubborn as Cooper but without the results. He's already repeated time and time again he's not changing the process. It's also worrying when he stated tonight that cabango and Downes where brilliant today! Clearly they weren't.
I thought it was snail’s paced shite if I’m honest. Martins comments after the game on bbc I find quite dispiriting.
I’ve watched Forest two or three times and they do the same every week. Overload the right with their pace players. What did we do to try and counter it. Naff all. Gave them all the space to beat our high line and then with the ball just mainly walked around the pitch going backwards. As to Hamer. Garbage. Annoyed.
just like he believed we went toe to toe with Fulham my worry about Martin is that he is so obsessed and focused on retaining possession and trying to always play it from the back without concern for winning games.
He still insists on pushing the wong backs high up the pitch...yet the ball never gets to them its ways coming back and that allows the opposition to exploit the gaps left on the flanks.
He isn't or doesn't seem to be learning or adapting
when things are not working.
So Cooperball outsmarts Martinball, from the outset in tactical set-up and throughout, in execution.
Plain as day for most of us who can see, objectively. Yet the twps on here chose and still choose to continue to bury their heads in the hope Martin can rescue them from their irrational hatred of Cooper.
That ship has sailed tonight in a 1-4 drubbing.
Let’s hope it’s the proper wake up call for the bitter, twisted twps like you and far far more importantly the Owners who will now see for real what Wunter and Martin have been bullshittng about the past few months.
I go to everyone home and most away games and that was awful today and it's hard to think of a game when we have played worst this season. And yes I have had enough of wasting my money on this sh#t team
According to Martin we played well, created more chances than before and got punished for individual mistakes (I think he really means his individual mistake of obsession with reverse gear possession):
Swansea head coach Russell Martin:
"In the last three games we've created more than we have all season. We said to you guys when we sat here when we weren't creating as much early on in the season, but we were keeping the back door shut more often. The balance has tipped the other way a little bit.
"If we cut out the individual mistakes we'll be more than fine. We're being punished for individual errors at the moment, but we will get there. We've got a group of young men who are learning on the job, who have come a long way in a short space of time.
"It's the same style of play that allowed us to go on a brilliant run of form, and now we have lost three on the spin which is not nice. Performance-wise there's nothing wrong, but we are being punished for individual errors at the moment.
"It really hurts to lose, it really hurts to lose by that scoreline. But it's a bump in the road. We have to show real courage to get back on it and start picking up results again."
Some of these reactions to losing a game are quite ridiculous.
I wasn’t a Cooper fan, but I don’t begrudge him this moment of satisfaction. What a great way to say “Up yours!”
Most inept display I have seen since the pre Rodgers days under Sousa.
Martin tactics were awful that is the 5th time we have conceded 3 or more goals this season . He has managed to turn on of the best defences in the championship into one of the worst. Is he inept or just stubborn. Why are we still playing two centre halfs out of position as full back? Why are we play two midfielders out of position in the middle of defence ?
Martin was tactically outplayed by Coopers tactics with quick balls done the wings.
We should definitely have been ahead at half time, it was very wasteful. We imploded in the second half and we (Hamer) literally gifted them a goal.
I said I was as happy as long as we were improving well we've stalled. Grimes is a problem again, if not for Downes trying to drive us forward it could have been worse.
Forests pace did damage to us but we didn't adapt. There again, where is our pace, we have none. We roll the ball around like it's a practice match. We are so slow moving the ball the oppo can see it coming and drift into position. it leaves us no space. How many times did Laird call for the ball today to be ignored as Grimes turned backwards or sideways in the other direction.
Has Martin already run out of ideas? He doesn't seem able to change very much. We don't have the players with pace to damage the oppo, Laird aside but he's not been very good for weeks. We play people out of position and worse of all, when the back 3 or Grimes and Downes had the ball all they had in front of them was a bunch of statues.
My biggest worry now is that Piroe will look around and be only too happy to look for a move in January.
Obafemi today, he was making runs, calling for the ball but we refused to make a risky pass into the oppo penalty area, WHY? Because we seem very happy to make risky passes in our own penalty area.
Having patience is one thing, when you can see improvements happening. What we are seeing now is a team who look slow and hesitant.
After today, does anyone still feel we have the play offs in our sights? Cooper did a job on us. He let us faff around with the ball as long as we liked but when they got it back they moved it with pace and it murdered us.
Our problem today hace been forest pace especially out wide we can't compete with it
Hate to say it but we got Coopered. End of. Never in a million years a 4-1 game but how many times did we find ourselves on the right side of those?
Not so much angry today about losing to an in form forest, more angry about our self destruction the last couple of games.
Surprisingly I’ve kept quiet this week with regards Steve Cooper seemingly some have forgotten that he took us to two play-offs with little support from the board, he’s come back today and properly pulled our pants down!
This game illustrated how good a manager he is - destroyed us with his tactics. We truly had no answer. There will be a few embarrassed faces in the swans boardroom this week. Should really have backed him!
Give Martin time ffs. Little support? Brewster, Gallagher, Hourihane, Kept Ayew…….
Where have I disregarded Martin? I actually like him and what he’s trying to do what I’m saying is Swans fan slagging off Cooper who seemingly had forgotten what he’s done
As for his defensive football I wonder how many #nffc would have scored today if we had played attacking football

He’s a poisonous p***k that needs to be wired up to the national grid and I’m not even sure that would work.
It seems there's a pattern with these little clubs who had a stint or two in the prem (also Reading, Fulham). They are deluded beyond belief.

The chip on their shoulder. Noticeable in the comments. They've been run well, had a progressive strategy of recruitment and managerial succession. Fair play on that. They've shown what Forest should have been doing years ago but only just started doing this year. However, they are far from top flight royalty.
If anyone is entitled to have a tree growing on their shoulder, it's Forest fans.
I remember Charlton fans turning on Curbishley who'd got them to the 1st Division (I tend not to like the tacky Premiership nom-de-plume) and turning on him because 10th wasn't good enough. When Curby left? They dive bombed.
There are a few of these 'tin pot' and 'little' clubs who have fans with this attitude.
