He has a number of things to sort out himself. (It's happened quickly.)

We've had a number of discussions here. He's hoping he does.

A number of things personally and professionally to sort.

A great asset to me at the R.O.Ireland job. Tough to handle. But you know that with him. That's what makes him special. He was a special player that drove Man U on for ten years.

The hurdle is getting to know the players. Not a pre-season. Hasn't got 5-6 weeks to do that.

Manager's are getting less and less time. You have to get going immediately.

Sentimentality apart. This is a job to do.

Pressure not to let people down.

'At this minute (speaking to Fray) you know more about the squad than I do...' 'In an ideal world you come in at the start of the season...'

I've retained a great enthusiasm for the job. Aware of the pitfalls. I want to do it. Want to go for it. Be successful here. You go for promotion to winning the league to winning league cups and European Cups in 5 years.

At a provincial club...they were heady days.
