Zinc/johno/carv as the 10 in a 5 man mid
Zinc/lolley/Mighten/johno/Makauri as fast fluid front 3
Then I remember CH is manager scrap that idea
It would allow us to get Soh into the team although then Figs becomes first choice backup unless you dropped Yates in there.

So adding an extra defender is going to give us more attacking threat?

I never said that :D I just like that most teams are using it right now in the league and I think 4231 can get dominated by this sometimes

So based on Tails briefing it sounds likely we'll be playing 433 now with Johnson possibly in the middle.
So guesses at how this will look in reality? 433 suits the new attacking full backs I guess.
Samba
Tutu Worrall McKenna Lowe
Ojeda Garner Zinck
Mighten Taylor Johnson
Maybe with Silva or Grabban coming in for Taylor at some point
Or alternatively Zinck plays up front and Yates plays (which sounds very Hughton)
I think most would like to see 352 or 343 and perhaps a new manager will do that however based on Tails briefing and CH history I'm guessing this is what we're going for.

I posted this as a possibility on the transfer thread:
So when everyone is fit could we see something like.....
------------------------------------Samba--------------------------------------
-------------Worrall-------------Mbe Soh----------McKenna----------------
Spence--------Ojeda-----------Garner------------Zinckernagel------Lowe
-----------------------Johnson-------------Grabban--------------------------
Or swap Spence for Osei-Tutu, Johnson for Silva, Grabban for Taylor etc.

No Mighten though, unless you consider him at LWB?

So, in your opinion it is the formation that is the issue and changing that and adding an extra defender will bring more attacking threat?

I was merely putting that out there as an option because someone else mentioned that 352 was a formation that Hughton had played before.

Have three big lads at the back vs Cardiff (who seem to get their goals from set pieces...) might not be such a bad idea.

Fair enough. I'm just a bit puzzled that so many suggest a change in formation will do the trick when in reality it is the basic approach that needs to be changed. When that is said, aren't our U23 team playing 4-3-3?

You can put a positive spin on it too, I prefer 343 myself, but what it does is allow you to press higher up the pitch without potentially leaving big holes, it gets your attacking full backs higher up the pitch to enable that press, which in turn could see us turning the ball over higher up the field giving us more opportunities to pounce on opposition mistakes and get scoring opportunities but it all depends on your mentality and approach.
I'm not so sure CH will go with a high press and so far there has been no sign of it as a team so you are right HT could just end up being a back 5 allowing teams onto us.
Over to you CH.

I agree with that MR but as you say I'm not sure CH will allow his FB to push that far up so you in effect end up with 5 players at the back.
You could also get the same effect in a 4-2-3-1 formation if one of your DMC drop in between your CB when your team is pressing high or attacking. For me it is more about the basic approach and how much risk you are willing to expose yourself to.
