Current Players Thread

From a pure PSR perspective he is one that would generate a decent profit - what would he be valued at ?

Be sorry to see him go ....

Would be sorry to see Ryan go, and he would leave a big void squad wise.

He is one of the players we have that would solve the problem, without us needing to sell multiple players prior to 30th June to hit the figures.

On the assumption Mangala and Joe leave before 30th June, then 10m + for Yates hits the numbers.

As a squad player for a bottom 6 side / promoted team I believe we would get 10-12m for him

Moussa Niakhate - option to extend a year
Ryan Yates
Harry Toffolo

and then Aina and Boly.

Do we cash in on any of them?

Yates for me.

So as it stands do we have enough homegrown players, we will have to buy someone or use an academy player in the 25? Who no longer is classed as u21 and exempt?

Gk: Turner, Vlachodimos, Selz

Def: Williams*, Toffolo*, Niakhate, Boly, Omobamidele, Murillo, Aina*.

Mid: Sangare, MGW*, Dominguez, Yates*, Danilo.

Fwd: Awoniyi*, Wood*, CHO*, Elanga

19 players, 8 home grown, all over 21

Returning loan players:

Aguilera(U21), Bowler*(contract expiring), Dennis, Hwang, Mbe Soh(contract expiring), McKenna(contract expiring), Mighten*, O’brien*, Panzo*, Richards*, Worral*.

We realistically keep Richards, so 5 extra places but would NES if he’s the manager come pre-season want any more?

So we have room to get some actual foreign gems and they don’t have to be 21 or under

Newcastle not qualifying for Europe is massive for MGW sale I reckon.

Not sure it's massive but it might help a little bit.

It was the Conference League not Champions League.

Newcastle have their own PSR issues and would only try and get MGW if Guimares left.

He has a 100m release clause that has to be activated before 30/6

We have a few returning loanees in a few days.
I can't see Forest getting a price for the class of 2025; Hwang, Panzo or Mighten, with them having 1 season left.
Worrall, Richards, O'Brien and Dennis have not done anything to demand a fee, unless a promotion chasing Championship team is interested at a nominal price.
Richards should be given an opportunity to impress during preseason.
Aguilera can be given another season on loan to develop, but with only 12 appearances at Div III Bristol Rovers, it does not look like he's going to step upi.

Aguilera is about the same age yates was when he started going on loan. 16 games in the national league and 12 in league one 16-17 season. 25 in league two and 16 in league one 2017-18. Aguilera managed 2 goals in 12 games, no different to yates at Scunthorpe (2 in 16) I think the club should look at the championship, maybe Oxford could be a good team to court? They do have mcguane who was kinda with us for a bit… maybe try and get him at Qpr where he knows some ex players?

Whilst on loan this season hwang scored 5 and had 1 assist, turns 32 as the season starts, there might be some European team that takes him, unless he tries to return to Korea again full time although there are some allegations in Korea that haven’t come to a full conclusion. We’d be lucky to get million for him.

Panzo was bench fodder for half a season for a Cardiff team that finished bang in the middle of the championship. Made 11 apps for standard liege. According to some stats comparison he’s no worse then niakhate or omobamidele, although their value is 10m+ more, we could probably find better back up for not much, or startling potential like we did with Murillo. I doubt a championship team would buy him outright he seems to suit European football more perhaps?

Mighten made 10 apps for port vale starting 3 and averaging 36 mins an app. In two years of loans he’s scored twice and assisted none. He’s just turned 22 and we could just use him in the b team where he has scored goals until his contract expires. He may not want this though, even if we get anywhere up to 500k for him that would be pure profit…

The others remaining are enigmas really, O’Brien season was disrupted by an injury although he did play well from Jan where middlesborough reached 8th I could see him maybe moving permanently to a top end club, there are some relegated prem teams that might have space or those who didn’t get promoted may lose players to recently promoted clubs? Dennis scored 4 times in 18 apps - 11 of those starts. He left his loan in Turkey 23rd Jan and went to Watford 24th Jan they finished 15th. I expect NES to have a good look at him we didn’t really play with conventional wingers under cooper and he surely could make more of an impression than origi? He’s still good friends with awoniyi so hopefully if he worked hard in pre-season and applied himself then who knows? This might be his last chance though?

When Nuno came in he had an opportunity to recall Dennis and Hwang plus retain Mangala and and Worrall.
He chose to do none of the above and particularly in the case of Dennis tells you all you need to know about whether there is a future here.

I think nuno new he had to work with the core squad cooper had been using since the start of the season, I’m sure dennis could only be recalled from Jan 1st what could 4 weeks tell him. But to your point he probably new just as much about origi and decided to keep him instead. With Dennis going straight back to Watford it feels like his agent was trying to get a better outcome for him then Turkey.

All I’m saying is Nuno could have kept Dennis as back up. Instead he chose to take an 18 year old Portuguese lad with zero experience of any kind.
That’s if it was Nuno’s decision of course.

Dennis was a poor signing, looked it at the time. His dribble and shooting came off to give him decent stats one season, but he’s not Premier League level, and at 26 never will be. Move on! I’m pretty sure the club has.
