Leaving us to search for new Head Coach ourselves.

It's a tough manager market atm if Nuno was to leave.

Liverpool look to me to have appointed a post Klopp sacrificial coach who will probably be gone in a year or two. Man Utd probably searching for a top coach too. Chelsea don't seem to know what they're doing either. Brighton looking too now.

Managers like Glasner and Iraola are probably at our level but are there any more names out there abroad who could come in a do a decent job like they have done?

Would Cooper return if he was invited?

I wouldn't want Cooper back now. It's been and gone. Loved his time here but we've moved on

Baffling he even gets mentioned tbh

I will always be grateful for the sterling work Cooper did for us and get us back into the PL. I loved the man to bits for the way he embraced the club, its fans and our city.

But, I think he was out of his depth in the PL TBH and ran out of ideas. Opponents sussed him out and played to stop us, mostly successfully.

I dont think it would be a good idea to bring him back, at least not until he has had more experience and success in the PL. If we were to find ourselves relegated, then that is a different conversation entirely, but not now.

I mean Nuno basically got the same amount of points per games as Cooper did this season so is he also out of his depth?

You don't need to play expansive football to be successful at this level as Dyche has repeatedly showed. Anyway we played expansively under Cooper in the EFL so I'm sure he's capable of doing that with better players.

(Not saying we should bring him back or that he'd want to come back)

Tricks, imo its a bit harsh to say he was out of his depth. I just think he hit a bit of a road block in terms of what he could get out of that group of players at that time in our premier league adventure. I'm sure he could go into an established prem club and hold his own now he's had the experience with us. It's just at our club he, the club, the players were all learning on the job. He had to plug the leaks at the back and couldn't move on from that approach this last season. He was a bit of a fall guy really.

Nuno had to deal with Afcon, and still got more points per game and more goals per game than Cooper.

I do remember the Cooper lovers saying he would be straight into any PL club......and he has not. Dont be blinded, he was a limited manager who reached his limit.

He will do well again in the Championship, dont see any PL club wanting him.

Last yea Cooper got the World Cup break to sort out after realising how much harder the step up was gonna be, it worked for a bit then taiwo got injured, we only really let loose a bit once he was back and we had the wins against Brighton southampton etc.

For whatever reason with some seem better players there was no consistency, until we went on a run of 6/7 games of not winning and the players seemingly having no faith in him.

Sport time also saying we have asked Mendes to find us a new coach

I am not convinced about that.

Why would we need Mendes to help us find a new coach? I think EM is more than capable of doing that, we all know who is available or who might be available. Also Mendes and Nuno are best friends so I cannot imagine Mendes stabbing his best mate in the back.

Not saying Nuno is staying (or going) but I don't believe that Mendes is trying to find us a new coach, we don't need his help. Finding players is different and we do need his help for that but not for a coach.

Agreed Sniffer. Can only think we’d ask Mendes to help find a replacement for his friend if Nuno had indicated/said he is leaving. Hoping personally that Nuno stays as think with a pre-season and opportunity to bring in some players of his own to address the areas where we need to improve that next season will see us in a much more healthy place. Having had half a season with the current squad then think Nuno is best placed to know our squads current limitations and areas to improve and concerned any new man would need time meaning we start on the back foot again.

Unless he's asking for Jose

In my neck of the woods, Cooper is allegedly the favourite to get the Leicester job SHOULD they lose their manager

I don’t think it has been confirmed yet, though it might be announced after their final against Oly. He’d be an interesting manager to go for if he’s not Napoli bound

They wanted him last year and have finally got him. I think it will be announced after Wednesday night next week. He's highly thought of. Will do well at Napoli.

Looks like Napoli are going for Conte or Gasperini. Italiano is still out there if EM is interested… he announced his departure from Fiorentina a few months ago, so it’s pretty public knowledge

If Nuno was going I think he would of gone buy now as both sides knew how they felt before the season ended

They will have a chance to sit down and talk in Athens next week (if they want to).
