More slight positives, we've got 4 teams in Europe straight after European weeks out of the first 6 which is good. Although given there's 8 teams in Europe this year not entirely unexpected!

Get them out of the way- Steve is a year wiser and there will be a whole mission and focus to get points away. Bigger teams have strange results early too.

At least there is a good chance we will have a fully fit squad so can play the system and the players that suit us.

No it won't because our those 4 away games.

That's most unlike you Wassy as I always thought you where 100% positive in all things red! My point was however that any team can always gets a good start or come from the pack (Fulham last season and Brentford the season before) why not us?

Also playing Sheff U and Burnley at the start when they still have momentum from promotion and are unknown commodities. Confidence will still be high and they won't be bedding in new signings.

I would say those first 6 games couldn't be much worse.

Agree Wassy. Its about as bad as it gets. Massive problem for Cooper, these fixtures are.

I suspect that the big man may not have the patience he had last season. If we're bottom of the league after 5 or 6 games Cooper will be under massive pressure again. Thank god the transfer window closure is only 3 games in this season. If longer that would add even more pressure on Cooper if we have a bad start.

Why the pessimism chaps? We have to play these teams at some point! Last season we were all looking forward to these games, what's changed?

Surprised at the doom and gloom on here. We've got to play every team home and away anyway and often early in the season the 'big' teams don't get going straight away - Man City didn't make the best start and look at Man U's first two results last season. Also Chelsea will still be getting used to Pochettino and vice versa.

First nugget of positivity, we play Brentford for the 2nd time, 3 days before Toney's ban ends. So we get to play them twice without him.

Brennan to score the winner then….for Brentford  :fishing:

It's a tough start but its the same for most teams. I can't wait for the transfers, pre-season, rumours, and kick-off.
