There's an issue with Forest you see. When writing about them as a Barnsley man. Their common nicknames are Forest and Reds. Now, I'm not going to use the latter as that would either confuse our fans, or anger our fans ("we are the Reds, not them"). And I can't just refer to them as Forest completely. So you go with the next nickname. And that is apparently Tricky Trees. Can't say as I've ever heard of them called that out loud either. But it was that or Garibaldis and our fans would think biscuit.

Matt Forde and Matt Dyson, comedians and big Forest fans always call them the Tricky Trees on their Absolute Radio show.

Why can't he refer to us as Forest? Thats our name FFS! 

Additionally, we are 'The Reds'. We are the oldest league club in the world and have always played in Red. That makes us the original 'Reds'

Can we Continue Our Home Undefeated Run?

After our 4-2 win against Reading which was a good game to watch for the neutral, but a tense game of two halves for the fans of both clubs. Reading fans the happier as their side scored early and added another before the halftime interval, it looked like the international break had worked against us, little did we know what was coming in the second half. Good substitution by JT and it turned the game on its head, the Cherries fans the happier as their team scored four good goals in the second half to go above the leaders Reading in the table and keep their home unbeaten record in tact.
The Cherries are home again, this time the visitors are Nottingham Forest and again the game is on Sky on Tuesday evening.

Forest and their manager Sabri Lamouchi had a bad start to the league season, losing their first four games. First game was away in London against Queens Park Rangers 2-0, then the first game at home against Cardiff City 0-2. Their third game was away against Huddersfield which finished 1-0 and the fourth and final game for their manager who had started at the club in the Summer of 2019, was back at home against Bristol City 1-2.

He was replaced straight away with Chris Hughton formerly at Brighton. Hughton started with a win away at Blackburn 0-1. Then followed three 1-1 draws, the first two at home at their City Ground against Rotherham United and Derby County, the third game was away at Luton Town. Hughton then had his first defeat at his new club, losing by the only goal against Middlesbrough. Then back at home his side had two straight wins, 2-1 against Coventry City and 2-0 against Wycombe Wanderers before the international break. Their most recent game was away at Barnsley and they lost 2-0 with two late goals.
Forest signed no fewer than ten players this season, amongst them ex AFCB players Harry Arter and Lyle Taylor. They also brought in four players on loan for this season.

The last time we played Nottingham Forest was in our Championship winning season, Forest did the double over us, winning at Dean Court 1-2 and at their City ground 2-1. They were one of two teams who did the double over AFCB that season, the other being Leeds United.
In all our home league games against Forest, AFCB have W 4, D 1, L 2.
Only played them in the league and in all those games AFCB W 4, D 4, L 6.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is unavailable with an ankle injury. Josh King is self isolating and Adam Smith and Philip Billing were left out of the squad that played Reading because of their close proximity to King. So they may be doubts for Tuesday. No news of any injuries from the Reading game.

After our second half performance against Reading, David Brooks with his two assists brought us back into the game, also Dominic Solanke was lively up front and was rewarded with two goals, Lewis Cook played well, finishing with a great goal and then there is Arnaut Danjuma our leading scorer with 5, scores vital goals and most are fairly similar with the ball ending in the right hand corner of the net.

Another ex Cherries player is Lewis Grabban who was leading scorer last season, he has been out with a hip injury and will probably miss our game. Other players missing have been Joe Worrall, Tyler Blackett, Fouad Bachirou and Samba Sow.

Nottingham Forest Player To Watch
What I saw of Lyle Taylor at Charlton he looked a good and lively striker and had scored three goals in his previous two games with a brace against Wycombe Wanderers, this was before their recent defeat against Barnsley where Forest were goalless. Another player is Harry Arter, although he was on their bench in the last game.

Forest's former Cherries will all want to impress and are all proven good battle hardened players at this level. Forest's squad is too good for where they are in the league, and a correction normally comes sometime. Hughton normally knows what's he's doing and will be a tough opposite number for JT.

Both sides will probably need to make a few changes and that throws things up in the air.

No King and possible no Billing and Smith. Not sure how many changes JT can make to rest players. Back 4 surely stays as it finished on Saturday.
Riquelme in for first start ,replacing Stanislas?
Gosling for Lerma?

Not sure the protocols, but isn't the COVID incubation period 2-4 days or something like that?
If Smithy and Billing have been isolating for a few days, have no symptoms, and come back with negative tests, they'll probably be cleared to play.
Then again what do I know!

I understand the philosophy of not losing away from home but you need to show a bit more ambition against the bottom teams.

Forest were carp. That was 2 points dropped imo.

Good point. Forest had lost three in a row and only kept 3 clean sheets in 25 games so any result for us here is a positive.

Chalobah is utterly awful and should have been sent off.

Take the point against Hughtonball. A point gained on the top 2. Dull as dishwater.

We will end this season a handful of points off where we want to be and this philosophy of taking a point and being happy as it keeps us up there will proove to be not enough.

Literally half of that team were playing in the prem 4 months ago and we didnt lay a glove on a team rock bottom on confidence.

We were the better team, just. Chalobah is awful and seems to think he is a lot better than he actually is for some reason and was very lucky not to see red.

Forest had no threat, as zero shots on target proved, so we only needed to score a goal to win....but again, that's not going to happen unless we have some shots ourselves. Only one on target and I think that was an exaggeration

Yeah, about as I saw it. Sounds like Watford fans aren't too enamoured with their approach to away games, but at least they aren't approaching home games like it!

I don't like us getting the reputation for being negative and boring. We're supposed to have an identity, and it shouldn't be that.

Reading fans Pre Match Comments....

Another irritating kick off time for another game on Sky and hope that Reading can get a bit better at getting rewards when they play on the telly (now 3 wins and 3 draws from the last 17 on Sky). Of course this will be slightly different from recent games as some of the mug punters will at last be allowed back into a ground, albeit carefully spaced out to discourage any of that dreadful behaviour that authorities don’t want to see in the current climate like singing, chanting or making supportive noises let alone anything horrible like dissing an opponent who might do something a bit naughty.

Forest are doing badly. A bit of surprise after what they offered up last year but that’s football. Chris Hughton has taken up control and since then their record has improved with 3 wins and 4 draws from 11 games but the club is currently on a run of 1 draw in 4 games. Forest have also lost their last 3 away games without scoring so we can all guess what that sort of record will lead to on an early Saturday afternoon on the telly with the fans back in.

Former Charlton threat, Lyle Taylor is the danger man here, 4 goals in 8(6) appearances isn’t too bad in what currently appears to be a struggling team. In addition Jack Colback can be a nuisance if he’s not carefully watched and then there’s Lewis Grabban and Joe Lolley who always seem to do well against Reading.

That said Mr Grabban is amongst a number of Forest players who have or are recovering from injury with Joe Worrall, Tyler Blackett, Samba Sow, Michael Dawson, Gaetan Bong and Luke Freeman all on the verge of getting on the pitch again.

Reading still have Puscas, Araruna, Yiadom and Swift out and a doubt over Meite.

Historically:

Forest have made 22 previous visits to Reading for a league game with all but 4 being at Division 2 level. They have won on 6 of those visits and when Reading lose at home to Forest in the league they fail to score.

Reading have managed 10 wins from those 21 visits and have won 4 and drawn 1 of the last 5 encounters at the Mad Stad so there is something to live up to.

Looking forward to going to this. Win and we go top.

I hate to say this as I know we've had this comment levelled at us repeatedly over the last several seasons but we should really be beating a team like Forest, they did very well to contain Watford last game but looking at their record, they do seem to like a 2-0 loss.

Essential we score first

first goal impt as ever. Half watched them against Swansea and they quite dangerous at 0-0.
at 0-1 they just fell to pieces and gave up

Forest are like Wednesday. They barely score with just 9 League goals but have not conceded too many at 17. Their fans seem confident they will turn us over and their messageboard is littered with crap about our Stadium and fans.
Want to see us giving them a hiding.

There's a weird air of confidence amongst the Forest fans considering they haven't scored in 4 games.

We had our best performance without Ejaria IMO... Blackburn was great.

Right, but Semedo was exceptional that game. I know Ejaria isn't your type of player but he's been more consistent and consistently effective than Semedo has.

Ejarias place is set imo.

Whilst this fixture should be relatively straightforward, we must be extremely cautious of the quality possessed by Harry Arter. A player of his calibre could really cause us problems. I hope those lucky enough to be in the stadium tomorrow are appreciative of being so lucky to be witnessing him perform.

Lewis Grabban, Tyler Blackett, Scott McKenna, Samba Sow and Fouad Bachirou all have late fitness tests for Forest. Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson and Cafu are all expected to play some part. Jack Colback will miss the game after picking up a knock v Watford.

Actually their Cafu is Carlos Miguel Ribeiro Dias a 27 year old Portuguese DM on loan from Olympiacos. Should take special note of this one as last season Reading had Pele on loan after his loan with Forest the season before that and this year Reading have Semedo on loan after his loan at Forest last season.

Wonder if Semedo will be any more up for the game.

Just for clarity I wasn't suggesting 50 year old Brazillain legend Cafu had come out of retirement to play for Forest. He probably is better than their current RB though.

So what you are saying is Cafu will be on loan with us next season?

Just been reading the Forest forum....apparently we are diving a lot, and they don't think an awful lot about their goalkeeper.

Comfortable performance, looked fully in control and stayed in 2nd gear, as didn't need to do anything else.

8pts from 12 is a superb return following that run of 4 defeats.
