Aurier, Kouyate and Dennis have offers to Saudi so probably heart no longer in it. No decent keeper. Scarpa (who I think is decent) has had 40 minutes with no MGW. Elanga and aina look OK. Our midfield flatters to deceive. Williams doesn’t look half the player he is for wales.
We are playing a kid at left back. Wood looks a bit fitter but cumbersome and xant finish from a yard out. Hwang - runs about and when put through dallies trying to get it on his strong foot - he is old and a journeyman type who has no place in the premiership and I would worry if he was an option at championship level. I’d rather have surridge! Worrall has looked extremely dodgy playing out and rash in the challenge. Mckenna is shocking when caught high.
My greater worry is MGW looked absolutely pissed off last night. He is our only player who looks premier class. Mangala has been very rusty for me. Freuler - he is so slow - either he really doesn’t get the pace or we have his twin brother from the player who plays internationally or from the past in Italy.
Low block football with box midfield and no width is a recipe for 4 and 5 Nill away performances.
Yates has looked like he did 3 years ago and telegraphing any forward pass.

Yes - I am very worried about this year and have us as relegation certs.

Yeah, but apart from that we're pretty decent yes?

Still, good news about the free pen and keyring though?

36 names listed of which Danilo and Elanga are U21.

Means 9 of the above will not make the 25 man squad.

I can count 13 players on there who are either likely to move on or won’t be used, you all know who they are. Leaves room for another 4 to come in by my calculations assuming no unexpected departures.

Surprised Powell doesn't have a number listed, given how much he was involved and apparently impressed pre-season.

I thought that Danilo wasn’t counted as U21 this season.

He turned 22 in April so he'll be in the 25.

For the record, Williams also turned 22 in April and Johnson in May.

Anyone else slightly bemused by this strange position Danilo has been playing Right no10/winger . Last season we got a glimpse of his passing range from deeper he works hard and can compete in the tackle 12 months ago I watched him totally dominate kante and kovacic in the world club cup . Am I missing something surley he is better suited to the DLP role or will this require a better CDM than yates ?

Yes, I am. It's almost as if we've seen him scare a few goals at the end of last season and now think we must push him forward. Whereas......he is probably better suited to running from deep and popping up int he right place.

Exactly what i was thinking didn’t score many in Brazil and we didn’t sign him for that his goals came from arriving late due to his athleticism . His assists we’re just as important and good at the end of the season too . There were 2/3 cross field pings to Brennan that lead to goals as-well . Feel as though he is better utilised deeper especially if we have 2 out and out pace merchants on the wings now.
